Lonzo is not a bust. He can't be a bust being the first rookie since 1983 to start the season with 50/40/40 or 50 points, 40 rebounds, and 40 assist in the first 5 games. He also lead the Lakers in rebounding. He also broke the record for youngest players with 13 assist in 1 game. Yes, his shooting is off but if you view the shooting of other rookies, they are also shooting poorly but more people are focusing on Lonzo who was a 2nd round pick not a 1st. Now people say Ben Simmons is doing better but Ben is a really a 2nd year player who has had a full year to be with his team, watch plays, get coached watching, making millions dollars, work out on NBA equipment, get NBA advisors, get NBA dieticians, prepare both mentally and physically before he started the season. He did all this while real rookies were in college. So to compare Lonzo or any other rookie with Ben is unfair. Plus, Ben has the privilege of playing with another #1 Embiid, who when on the floor is a legitimate star. Even Tatum has a star to guide him in Irving. Lonzo is surrounded by other rookies or role players and he is attempting to be a real point guard to set them up as directed by Magic. So his role on the Lakers is entirely different from other real rookies. All Tatum has to do is shoot. Lonzo is expected to almost have a triple double every night and lead the Lakers on the floor.

I think there is something physically wrong with Lonzo. If anyone had watched him play in high school and UCLA, you would have seen he was far more athletic. Even in summer league, I said he looked injured as he had no jump in his legs. The Laker summer league coach said he came in "banged up" but he still managed to do well but if you look at his jump shot, he lacks leg strength and missed a lot of easy shots as he is doing now. There is no reason for him to miss open shots when he made 3's at UCLA at 42%, 81 of them, mostly contested and well beyond the 3 point college line (some at 1/2 court). You don't come to the NBA and forget how to shoot. And it has nothing to do with his form. If it was about his form, he would have been missing those same shots at Chino and UCLA but he was the most efficient shooting guard coming out of college, shooting 2's at 76% (mostly DUNKS) and shooting 3's at 41%. He had an overall shooting at 55%. Why would that change this drastically in the NBA? I think he is playing with an injury. In summer league, he missed a couple of games with a calf strain and this season, he sprained his ankle. If he's hurt, he should sit because I don't see any of the athleticism he displayed throughout his career. He is missing something in his legs. Now passing doesn't require a lot of athleticism, only vision. So he can do that but why is he shooting so poorly? There is no explanation for it but 1 thing, injured. I bet when the season ends, we may hear something.

About 30 games in and Ball is a bust. Kid sucks. Not getting better and EASY for teams to guard his shit shot. BUST. It has been 29 games now and he just can't shoot.
