Thanks for the question, Shea! With new locs, loose and fuzzy hairs are part of the process. So how to deal with them? Or, if you should deal with them at all!
I struggle with this issue, too. Great advise..damp hair - wrap; dry hair - leave it alone. So hard to let it go and keep hands off. Know it's best, but yeah, it's a work in progress. Thanks for the support...on the right track..now, just PATIENCE.
+Windsingerful Leaving my hair alone is still something I am working on! It's very hard lol almost unconsciously or out of boredom. But like you said...patience :) Accepting things as they are, loving how you are in in the moment, and knowing with time they will mature
+Brandi Jackson Do whatcha gotta do! Does the crochet hook help your locs become more solid faster? How has your experience been with crocheting locs? :)
Hi lauren' i just love to listen to you. i am 4mnths anti free form started to lock up nicely but I 2 strand twist my locks myself and the mistake i made was to twist them a bit too tight so as my hair started to lock up nicely it started just like you says little bumps in the locks it got so tight. till they feel like they were going to break off in the little joints so i had to go back and open up each of the locks it feels great now and my locks are a lot larger now they are loosen but i am back to baby stage.so now i will just wait and see where they go from here. love watching your video's always get a tip from you here and there. you know why you are so happy with your locks. its because you are growing spiritual lock. it not for style your inner beauty is coming out in your locks and the more they grows the beautiful they will become. and the more pure you are going to look. you locks are happy because you are happy. and the love you are giving them that the same amount of love they are going to give back to you. keep on growing your happy lock. One love.
+Belle Boucles Thank you! And I haven't colored my hair! My older locs have been exposed to a lot of sun, and they are getting lighter! Especially since I live in South Florida.
When it comes to freeform or semi-freeform, do you know if more locs give a fuller look than a few bigger ones? I'm dying to know. I've always been one for big hair, and I do want thick locs but I don't want them to look sparse because I made few bigger ones than many that are smaller.
My baby locks are skinny .... Like when you have them retwisted and your scalp shows.... Will they thicken up as the time progresses? Mature?tHe back of my hair which gets wet in the shower have budded and are locking quick. My hair texture is soft and I am 8 weeks in. Thanks ... Please advise. Your locks looks great btw.!
+Kimberly Ireland Thanks for your question, Kimberly! When I first got my locs, I had them retwisted as well, with the scalp showing (check out my 1 year update, it shows pictures of when I first got them done!). They will thicken to the size of each section created for each loc over time! Water helps them swell and bud, like you mentioned. Your locs are still very new, so try and be gentle, spritz them with a little water, and you'll notice they will begin to grow :) Best of luck!
+KONJEEROthedragon Congrats on your new, accidental loc journey! Lol, I personally haven't dealt with dandruff with my locs :-/ And there can be many different diagnosis as to what causes it. But all I can tell you is that I use only organic shampoos (like Dr. Bronner's and Mill Creek), I don't oil my scalp, I only use water with either lavender oil/rosemary water mixed in. A simple regimen usually results in a happy scalp, but I'd do more research online or on RUclips, and lastly maybe see a dermatologist. Good luck, and thanks for your question!
+D Vine I haven't dyed my locs! I've noticed that the tips have gotten lighter than the rest of the locs. Probably because they are the oldest and have been exposed to the most sunlight all year round (living in South Florida lol).

I have major frizz and loose hairs. I have been trying to ignore them until I can get a proper crochet hook to weave them back through a nearby loc.
