    I'm a DIY kind of girl and have recently gotten into loc jewelry as well - just got some 16 gauge wire, a wire cutter tool, and a wire bending plier tool, and I've been twisting up lil coils and spirals to put in my 14 month old locs. I love playing around with the shapes of the jewelry (I have a heart, a treble clef, and a bunch of spirals while I wait for more inspiration to come)

      Sounds like a good idea! How often do you take out your loc jewelry? And how easy is it to remove and/or put back on?

      Congrats on 2 years! How have your locs changed now that they are going on 2 years?

    • @dmuccular2224
      @dmuccular2224 8 лет назад

      +Lauren Jackson, I am definitely feeling the 2 year mark. It's almost like your locs get their own sassy personality. There's more hang time, more weight, more thickness, more shine; very much more developed. While some people consider their 1 year anniversary to be the stage where their locs become teenagers, for me and my hair texture, the 1.5 - 2 year mark makes a world of difference. this has been life changing for me, and I thank God everyday that I wake up, because I realize that I am not defined by my hair, but my hair represents my beauty! I don't have to fit a standard anymore. I'm more confident. I hope that makes sense!

  • @Windsingerful

    Growing beautifully! Yeah, I want loc jewelry so bad, but many of mine are still not mature yet, and hair have hooked onto my stud earring and pulled the tread of hair out...Took the out (no studs for the foreseeable future), but makes me cautious to introduce jewelry with anything that could snag... And how do you measure your loc thickness to buy the right size?

    • @LaurenJacksonlocs29
      @LaurenJacksonlocs29  8 лет назад +1

      I feel the same way, and I also wonder how to really measure each loc size as well! Some people make their own, I may look into that.

    • @Windsingerful
      @Windsingerful 8 лет назад

      I actually just explored that option and made about 5 or 6 pieces. They came out beautifully. I watched 3 videos of MahoganyHomeschooler and they were extremely helpful. I don't think she's making videos anymore, and the ones I watched were from 2010...but solid gold for making loc jewelry and hair ties!

  • @Bindi_Marc
    @Bindi_Marc 8 лет назад +1

    Your locs have condensed quite a bit, but they are still fat and juicy...that's a good thing. You probably will have a major growth spurt at 2 years or shortly after. I did and other loc wearers too. My locs are passed my shoulders but I liked wearing them up off my neck. I live in NYC and its too hot to have them on my neck.😣

    Your locs are just so awesome! They definitely appear to be "falling" more -if that makes sense. I also think there has been a little bit of growth since your 13 month update.
    At almost 3 months in my loc journey, parts of my locs are definitely becoming more dense as I have been shampooing and spritzing them more frequently.

    • @LaurenJacksonlocs29
      @LaurenJacksonlocs29  8 лет назад

      Thank you so much, M! Lol Shampooing and spritzing is the way to go! Keep them hydrated, clean, and simple :)

    • @LaurenJacksonlocs29
      @LaurenJacksonlocs29  8 лет назад

      I like it too! The little blond tip just sort of turned out that way! And it definitely is! I can barely get half way through the day before my locs are completely dried out!

    Hey, do you sleep with a satin pillow case and are you free forming? Lastly how many locs do you have? Thanks

    • @LaurenJacksonlocs29
      @LaurenJacksonlocs29  8 лет назад +1

      I don't have a satin pillow case, but it's also not cotton, more silky texture with no lint! I'm technically not freeforming, but semi-freeforming. Went to a loctitian the first month, got my hair sectioned and twisted, then never went back and let my hair do its thing. I have about 90 locs.
