Hey Lauren!! I missed your face on here girlie! Lol! You and your Locs are absolutely STUNNING as usual! Seriously, you stay glowing! Lol! Your Locs appear to be "hanging" more! Great progress & update!😘
Lauren, your locs look great! I so appreciate how diligent you are in keeping us updated on your progress...it truly helps to keep me inspired (and I'm sure many others too.) Keep the videos coming and I will be certain to watch them. Incidentally, I just started my 11th month of semi-free-forming and I feel your videos help to show me what I should expect along the way. Kudos!
Keeping my hands out of my hair is *so* very challenging! What an easy distraction, that. I've been looking at cotton berets, tams even some snoods. (A Dr Seuss word, surely.) And you and hair {lowers voice} "it's been thorough some things" (lol) -- both blossoming! I'm around 10-11 months with 2nd retwisted 3 weeks ago. More locks are holding and firming up. Like you, my life and attention not as focused on or engaged with or in my hair.
i genuinely love everything about your videos. You have such a calming texture to your voice. your hair is absolute glory. I am currently on week 6 of my journey and i'm loving every step. keep shinin queen
Your locs are still looking great! Definitely longer! it's crazy how you can just flip them around like that now. I just visited Florida for a few days and yeah that humidity is no joke lol while there, I found it was helpful to rub a little coconut oil over my (almost 5 month old) locs and scalp after I washed or wet them and that made them feel super soft and got rid of the dryness. I think i will do this until my locs are a little more mature and absorb water a little better.
Tams are great for the fall and winter. They hold all of your locs and keep your ears warm in the winter. Also they're fairly cheap and come in a variety color options and styles
I love that you're always so simple with your maintenance and routine, some people just get too complicated for me sometimes! Oh and I'm glad your water pressure is back poppin' lol. Loving your hair as always, thanks for the update!!
hello Lauren Congratulations on your 16mnths Locs. they have grown and healthy as ever I am 8mnths and start to drop a bit now keep on taking care of your besutiful locs' and your beautiful complexion. until next time' keep on growing those healthy bad boys.👊
Thanks for sharing because I Love your updates! To help keep my hands out of hair I made two homemade loc socs, and I found a a seamless style bandana at the dollar tree. You can also get a bundle of seamless style bandanas on amazon, which is something I plan to do for my kids and myself. Looking forward to your next video!
I honestly had no idea as to what I was doing at the time. I quickly scanned a video or two on how a few people put them together and then I went in my closet, picked out two extra pieces of fabric, cut them up and whipped stitched them together by hand. They aren't pretty but they get the job done. :-D
hey lauren congrats on 16 months and im just behind on 15/16 months. still luving my locs too and i wear a headscarf everynight as well and i always twirl and fiddle with my locs absentmindly. i still go to my loctian every 6-8 weeks which is when they tend to tangle. peace n blessings from london xx
I'm glad to hear from you, Gemini! I hope your loc journey is going well also. It is so easy to get distracted by our hair! LOL but it's out of love. Peace and blessings from the sunshine state :)
Lauren Jackson I try to keep updated with your vlogs as your hair journey feels so similar to my own. It's beautiful to see how thick yours has become from the early days. I've started using Jamaican castor oil to restore my broken hair line and so far so good. I've also tried rubbing ginger root on my hairline to stimulate growth a tip I learned from another tutorial, only just started that last week so I'll update in a few months on that. Exciting times ahead. Peace & Blessings xx GEmini💁🏽
I just use a satin scarf, or I'll tie my hair back with a hair tie. Btw your locs have come a long way. I've been subscribed to your channel for a while, and the progress that you've made is amazing. I look forward to seeing your two year update in the coming month's.
I have a satin scarf as well! I forgot about it lol that would work much better than the bonnet outdoors. I truly appreciate you subscribing and keeping up with the videos. It means a lot to me! I definitely will continue making videos, because it gives me a chance to meet so many people, like yourself! :) Thanks again, Akia
+Lauren Jackson Not a problem Lauren. I have to show love, because you any many other dread tubers inspired me to get my channel started, even though I started it later on in my journey. So thank you for being an inspiration to people like me, who want to document their journey's.
Your locs have definitely grown a lot, but because you have almost free- form locs, your locs haven't been twisted so they appear much shorter. I know because I just finished semi free-forming my locs recently. Your locs are healthy and thick. You will see a growth spurt about the two-year mark. I think the tube wraps by tonidaley.com would look amazing on you and would hold your locs up. She also has a RUclips channel.
Hey, MsMalika64! I definitely noticed that my locs have gotten very compact and tight, especially after living somewhere else for 3 months with low water pressure. My locs seemed to shrink to me. But, like you mentioned, many other people say they really start to become their own after 2 years. I will check out her channel and her website, for sure. Thank you for the advice as always!
LOL, glad I could answer your question! My locs never really stuck together too much throughout my journey, but when they do, I definitely separate. And I have trained some of the loose hairs around my locs near my scalp, by wrapping them around the nearest loc (but only when your hair is wet!). How is your journey coming along so far?
+Lauren Jackson awesome info. My journey is coming along great so far. Going to a wedding so need to get a retwist. Loving it. Check my ch out if you like. I only talk lol
I have baby locs that stick up. I am semi free forming and thinking about using an AFRO pic to lift the roots. Mainly bcos they seem to flatten in the morning. I was wondering if you lifted your roots with a pic in the early days too?
Hey, Stacey! My locs become more flat as well in the morning. But I've never lifted my roots before. I try not to create too much tension on my roots. All I did, and still do, is jump in the shower every morning and wet my hair thoroughly, to wake them up. I hope this helps! :)
Lauren, I love your locs and they definitely don't look dreadful. What do you use for yur skin to make it glow or is it just you drinking a lot of water and your diet?
+Patricia Rankin I just took a break from it! I didn't have any problems with it and may start using it again. But for now, I love the simplicity of water :)
As per usual your locs are beautiful.
Your skin is beyond!
Ahhh! Hey, Joyce! *heart skips a beat* Thank you so much! :)
your hair just keeps getting better!! looking great Lauren!
Ayyyee, whats up! Thank you so much! :) Your content is getting better and better, as well!
Hey Lauren!! I missed your face on here girlie! Lol! You and your Locs are absolutely STUNNING as usual! Seriously, you stay glowing! Lol! Your Locs appear to be "hanging" more! Great progress & update!😘
Hey!! I always smile when I see you on here :) Thank you so much for the support as always, and I stay looking forward to your videos lol

Lauren Jackson You're welcome!
Your locs are still looking great! Definitely longer! it's crazy how you can just flip them around like that now.
I just visited Florida for a few days and yeah that humidity is no joke lol

You're so right, the humidity is something else! LOL but that sounds like a good idea! :)
Tams are great for the fall and winter. They hold all of your locs and keep your ears warm in the winter. Also they're fairly cheap and come in a variety color options and styles
That is exactly what I am looking for. The only thing is that the heat in Florida is no joke, but I still want one regardless lol
+Lauren Jackson move north where you can put it to good use especially during fall and winter lol
I love that you're always so simple with your maintenance and routine, some people just get too complicated for me sometimes! Oh and I'm glad your water pressure is back poppin' lol. Loving your hair as always, thanks for the update!!
Thank you so much! It means a lot :) LOL yes! That water pressure is everything!
Omg so freaking beautiful.
I'm at my five month peek with my free form locs & you're totally my inspiration.
Keep radiating beautiful 🌻🌻🌻

I appreciate you watching, CJ! So how do you make your homemade loc socs with the bandana?
I honestly had no idea as to what I was doing at the time. Congrats on reaching 16 months 💫✨
oh my gosh! It's Zen Lioness :D Thank you so much!
I feel like your hair grows so damn fast, but I could also be tripping from not really seeing yours everyday.
I feel like it's not growing so much at times! But making videos every month definitely puts it into perspective and you see more of the growth lol
hey lauren congrats on 16 months and im just behind on 15/16 months. still luving my locs too and i wear a headscarf everynight as well and i always twirl and fiddle with my locs absentmindly. i still go to my loctian every 6-8 weeks which is when they tend to tangle. peace n blessings from london xx

Thank God I'm not the only one who obsesses over my locs! I was able to find a bottle of Rose Water in Sprouts (nature/natural/organic store in AZ).
You are not alone! haha Btw, how much did the Rose Water cost?
+Lauren Jackson About $8 for a 4 oz spritz bottle. I mixed with half Vitamin E.
Your hair looks great

Yes! It is a very real thing lol
Dope! Keep it up!

Could you make a video on how to have a healthy, glowing skin like yours, please?
Your locs have definitely grown a lot, but because you have almost free- form locs, your locs haven't been twisted so they appear much shorter. I know because I just finished semi free-forming my locs recently. Your locs are healthy and thick. You will see a growth spurt about the two-year mark.

Do you feel that you have more flat locs since you dont retwist? Beautiful locs!
Thank you! And I haven't had too much of a problem with flat locs, because I wet my hair in the shower every morning to wake them up!
my sis was like I can't get a job with free forms. I'm bout 16 months too
Freeforming may be a bit harder to find a job.. but there are ways to tie them back!
you are sooooo beautiful :-) oh my goodness.
Thank you!!
Cute.
Iove it! Was gonna asked if you separate yay you answered my question. Started my journey 3 weeks ago
LOL, glad I could answer your question! My locs never really stuck together too much throughout my journey, but when they do, I definitely separate.
