    Your words brought tears to my eyes. I can relate with you completely, from the hair journey to the depression & anxiety. I've been struggling with depression & anxiety for years, and it was made worse by my recent postpartum depression- but I feel like my loc journey is a sort of healing process for my soul. My daughter's name is also Lauren! You are beautiful. Keep 'em coming, and stay strong.

      +NewMummy28 I can definitely relate, you're not alone in this journey! Both with locs and in life. These locs have helped ground me and kept me growing in every way. Like you said, it was a great healing process, and still continues to be! I really appreciate your kind words, stay strong and stay blessed

    I cant believe 1 month has already passed. I feel like I just watched your 11 month update.
    They look really really good. If I had larger locs, I'm fairly certain I would also just separate my locs instead of twisting them. They look beautiful. I'm excited to see what more is coming from your locs!

    Thank you. Thank you for showing all the fazes your Locks went through in the first months of locking. Sometimes they only show the end results of what Locks look like after 6 months to 1 year. We need to see what they look like in the misbehaving stage.
    It helps when you can see everyone went through this unruly stage.

      +Adelmonica19 Thank you! :D I have about 90, but I recommend getting the right amount of sections that fit your hair thickness and the thickness you want your locs to be. Are you going to a loctitian or are you doing it yourself?

    Much Congratulations to making it to a year! I love the journey you took your hair seems so free and light! I wish I wouldn't have interlocked to keep the roots because it thinned them in my opinion now I'm waiting on them to grow out and trying to do as little maintenence as possible maybe I will stop retwisting it's pretty pointless for me we have a similar texture and design I have the bangs in the front and I love Lauryn hill too!! love your videos I watched a few of them more than once!

    Lovely as usual! Do you have problems with the locs trying to combine? I try to semi- free form but after a month or so they are so combined I feel like I have to re-twist it a little. Do you have any tips or advice on keeping them apart

    • @LaurenJacksonlocs29
      @LaurenJacksonlocs29  8 лет назад +1

      +Carson B. Thank you as always, Carson B. :) My locs actually don't combine too much. Even in the beginning stages, they kind of stayed in their individual locs. I feel like my hair has always wanted to loc, and once it could, it stayed! Also, my loctitian was very experienced, and she sectioned my hair in a way where each loc had the right amount and they seemed to stay in place. But, stray or loose hairs definitely still happen, and I gently separate, or twist the loose hairs into the closest loc. I will be uploading a new video on loose hairs soon! Stay tuned, thanks for watching as always

    • @xxxmarineable
      @xxxmarineable 8 лет назад

      +Lauren Jackson thanks! my hair just seems to want to form one giant loc ha-ha. I didn't go to a very experienced loctician when I first got mine and that might be the problem. I look forward to the next video :))

    • @LaurenJacksonlocs29
      @LaurenJacksonlocs29  8 лет назад

      +Dorian Steele Thanks for checking it out! I use MillCreek Botanicals Balancing Jojoba. I found it at the Vitamin Shoppe. It works fine, it's not as runny or drying as Dr. Bronners, but it left my scalp a little itchy at first. But all is good now. Have you ever tried the peppermint version of Dr. B's?

    Hello!😊 I'm going to get LOC'd pretty soon ...first of all let me say I love your hair! My semi-dilemma is that my hair "grays" a LOT. So I'm wondering if I should color my hair prior to my starter loc appointment or just leave it be since the gray will return in a "rage"😊 anyway? My loctician told me to keep in mind that once he starts/coils my hair, I won't be able to color it UNTIL it locs. By then, I'm quite sure the gray will definitely be back. What to doooooo? Please help if you can and thanks in advance.

      @LaurenJacksonlocs29  8 лет назад +1

      I used just water afterwords, I'd spritz my hair with water first thing in the morning to help wake it up. But if you need a little more moisture, I'd add a little bit of conditioner to the water. I personally used rosemary water (boiling the rosemary in water until it was infused). I found it worked pretty well! Hope this helps.
