Your locs look really good sis! I started mine with 2 strand twists and mine have so many lumps and bumps, they're giving butterfly locs lol I think it's just a texture thing, I feel like my curls are fighting to get out lol but I think it gives them character and each one is unique, I love my locs and I love that they're not all uniform.
I have locs and absolutely love all my lumps and bumps. It’s the nature of our hair, curls and kinks that show up and show out. Lol. It makes my locs more interesting and gives dimension. I actually prefer it over perfectly symmetrical locs. Just my opinion. I think your hair looks amazing just the way it is.
Your locs are beautiful.. don’t let the sizes bother you. Locs are not meant to be even.. or the same.. they will have different lengths and sizes and shapes. Just embrace it and love the journey. Thanks for the vid
Absolutely. I found out not too long ago. that the locs will thicken when "mature" but will become more compact when "rooted". They say the rooted stage (the final stage) happens within about 18 to 21 months on average. I am glad you're more comfortable with your hair! 🙂
This set looks great! 😍 loveee that auburn-y color I started mine with comb coils and my locs are super lumpy/bumpy with the same kind of effect on the ends lol, so I’d say it’s probably moreso hair texture and not how you started. My ends were popping out of the comb coils before I even made it home that install day 😂 I do like the irregular form of my locs though, I feel like them not being super uniform all the way down adds personality and uniqueness But put the ✂️ down girl! Those ends that are unraveling a bit will seal back up eventually Also on combining; I had to have a few combined on my also slightly less dense sides due to waiting too long for a retwist/matting, and my glasses and masks 😷 fighting for space behind the ears. It doesn’t look like you have any here rn that need to be combined, they look good! All around 👍🏾👍🏾
Love your hair! I still got those knots at the end of my locs and I never bleached them. Once I had enough length I cut them off and my hair looks so much better and uniform.
I'm on my 3rd set of locs and this set will be my last. My last set I had the same issue as you a few was thinner around the edges and I wanted to combine them so they wouldn't pop well one popped so I combed my locs out and I thought my hair was going to be really short because it was heavily bleached as well but it was way longer once I combed my locs out. I deep conditioned it and a week later I started over. Now I will not be dying my hair anymore either because I don't plan on starting another set again.
Hi :) I´m a new subscriber and just found your video on my timeline. So happy, that it popped up there ;) I really like your locs and your parting. It´s so beautiful, how your locs decided to look. I always thought, that I would love straight and really cylindrical locs....but after a while now....lumps and bumps have more individuality :) I never bleached my locs, only colored them one time and they got really dry too. The only time I used bleach was, when I was a loose natural. I tried different things and I shaved my hair completely off. Was very brittle and "snowy" ;) LOL I know that can happen, but I tried this things before I got my first set of locs. I´m too afraid doing this to my locs. But I love your color too. The ombre effect is really nice and the fading. The thing with the combining of locs, yes, be careful. I had 2 locs on my edges....very skinny. My loctician ( doing locs since 8 years or so ) said, it´s better for me, doing them so small. Not long in my journey...my edges break and the locs were close to fall off. She cutted them and fit the hairs in two of my other locs. The outcome of the parts is more beautiful doing it that way, than simply combine two locs sometimes. The fun fact: I asked, when she started my locs, if it´s not better to part the edges bigger, she said no... and when we talk nearly two years later about edges and sides...she always says, that bigger parts are better for sides and edges...oh interesting...that was my idea....grrr. LOL I start my 3. journey today. My first set was made by a loctician. But 2 years later, fully matured, I don´t like my locs, to small for my taste. At the beginnig, I liked the idea of having smaller ones...styling and so on. But now, I want them bigger. :) The amount of my locs is not important for me. I started the 2. set the last week...with diamond part....parting was good...but not for my hair type/density in the way I did it, I think. I´m German, 1a/b hair type, fine hair and medium density....the entire life, I was jealous not having type 4 hair. ;) Hmmm, maybe that´s way, are the most people I`m following having type 4 hair? LOL I always wanted locs...but we all know, what so many people think or say about locs...all the hate and bulling and disinformation. I decided to start my 2. set by myself, not afraid to start it a 3. time, like expected. I had some days the last week off and this week too, lucky me. I have to crochet my locs, because it´s straight ( I would be happy to do two strand twist, love them, not working for my hair type ). When I started my 2. set.....I can´t crochet very well...my thoughts: it has to work...because, I don´t wanted loose hair anymore or walking around with my rubber bands from parting in my hair and find someone to do it for me...and it worked...not sure why but hey, lucky me :) We will see, if set number will work better for me :) Sorry, a bit longer....I had too :D Have a nice day. :)
That lumpy bumpyness will go away, it will eventually morph into the rest of the loc and look normal lol idk if that makes sense sis 😂 but mine were the same. I’m 2 years+ in now fully matured and they’re all pretty consistent.
I have some skinnies too and a few of mine are in the same area as yours lol I just let them be since the root is not thin. I also have a few bumpy locs but I don’t fuss over them too much. Gives them character 😂
12/31 I will be a year in. Like yours around the perimeter I have really skinny locs and at the back and middle they are thicker. I started with 2 strand twist and have lumps and bumps as well, but I love that. I think you should just let yours be. They look great and love your color. Question for you. Just curious. How many locs do you have? Thanks for sharing!
Those on the sides don’t look too small to me. Use the crochet hook and go in close up the bumpy ends. I don’t start locs with comb or finger coils anymore. I start them with two strand twist with interlocked roots. They loc more even and stay way more neat in between retwist
@@DESZREN are you on IG? I can send you a link to where I got my hooks off of Amazon and there is another lady I get Afro kinky real hair from for repairs that sells crochet hooks as small as the Microlocs are. She is amazing. Let me know and I will share it with you. Been following you through every set of locs. Mad respect for you, want to help in anyway that I can
I have starter locs (two strand twist) and sometimes in the middle they have gaps I’m assuming from unraveling and sometimes in the middle the twist get loser but it’s still twisted do I have to keep starting the twist over when that happens?
Honestly, my hair was only frizzy the first 6 months or so, I think it's because of my texture. I noticed that people with a looser curl pattern tend to have frizzy locs compared to those that have a tighter coil
Your least favorite loc** I had a loc like that on the side of my head that I didn’t like either . It actually looks just like yours but it was on the other side of my head. The lady that does my locs I told her that I didn’t like it and she palm rolled it each time I went back to see her and it did end up smoothing out .
I’m definitely going to give myself time because I truly love this set!!! Y’all know I would’ve been combed them out if I feel like this set wasn’t for me 🥺 I think too I have to remember that I have fine hair and that will result in smaller looking locs anyways
So I saw a video where you redid your twist 3 times. That video is about 2yrs old. Did you redo them again? 🤔 cause last time you did 2 strand twist , the last 2 times

this is such a great description, i feel the same!
I totally agree too
me three!!

this is exactly how i feel! i love the curves hahah
I love this set. It’s crazy how different people can have different opinions, like I love the bunched ends because it helps with volume.
Your locs are beautiful.. don’t let the sizes bother you. Locs are not meant to be even.. or the same.. they will have different lengths and sizes and shapes. Just embrace it and love the journey. Thanks for the vid
Your locs are beautiful and your skin is too!
0:49 PERIODDDD. It’s giving length ❤❤❤ I’m so happy for you!
Love these updates. I feel like you give very unique and specific commentary that I don’t hear from others.
Your overthinking sis. Let them babies be. They are everything ✨️

Hey Des!!!! Locs are looking amazing!
Thank you so much!!

my locs will b a year in feb and u inspired me to get them
Are you me😭? I'm 1yr in Feb too , and your main issue is mine too, and mine are really small in the front 😭❤.

That lumpy bumpyness will go away, it will eventually morph into the rest of the loc and look normal lol idk if that makes sense sis 😂 but mine were the same. I’m 2 years+ in now fully matured and they’re all pretty consistent.
Locs are beautiful! Got so long!

Your locs look so beautiful ❤️
thank you so much! 🥰
Loveeee the hair color

I combed my first set of locs out bc some were too skinny and I wanted thick locs hopefully my next set will be thick enough.
I'm living the locs and color
Difference between comb coils & finger coils? I wasn’t my ends to have that curl & nor completely lock
Your locs are amazingly beautiful
I appreciate you! 🥰
I had the fear about my smaller locs!!!😭😭
Ponytail pride is real. Once I could use my hair to make it, my neck was in space
Question Dez… when does your locs stop budding
So every retwist a set? Or this your 3rd time overall doing locs?
Hey there des
Your locs are beautiful
Those on the sides don’t look too small to me. Use the crochet hook and go in close up the bumpy ends. I don’t start locs with comb or finger coils anymore. I start them with two strand twist with interlocked roots. They loc more even and stay way more neat in between retwist
I need to get a smaller hook! I was definitely thinking about doing that!!

Nice locs😏

You probably answered this a million times but im new lol how many locs do you have
How many locs do you have?
I did opposite thick on bottom smaller on top
Question what did u do with your frizz i seen all your videos u really didn't have that much of frizz
Honestly, my hair was only frizzy the first 6 months or so, I think it's because of my texture. I noticed that people with a looser curl pattern tend to have frizzy locs compared to those that have a tighter coil

I made that impulsive decision of combing my locs out bc they got thin from maturing but now I want them BACK! 😭🥹
I’m definitely going to give myself time because I truly love this set!!! Y’all know I would’ve been combed them out if I feel like this set wasn’t for me 🥺 I think too I have to remember that I have fine hair and that will result in smaller looking locs anyways
yes we know! you have had one heck of a loc/hair journey but we are here for it always and forever 🫶🏾
So I saw a video where you redid your twist 3 times. That video is about 2yrs old. Did you redo them again? 🤔 cause last time you did 2 strand twist , the last 2 times
This is amazing, I reach out to house via IG, I’m learning a lot from you
