I'm a Tenor and I love singing this song.
same
+jmstolp444 I am a tenor just starting rehearsals, and I really appreciate the crispness of the words and rhythms in this performance.
InvertedReaper same
InvertedReaper I'm a second bass I love this song but my fav is honor and glory by bach, then second runner up is non nobis domine
InvertedReaper Me, too
This is one of the songs I sang in my 7th grade year, brings back memories listening to it only two years later. I sang this as a high tenor, now I'm a low bass. Things have changed quite a bit.
That's one of the best parts about music
Puberty hit my man’s like a damn truck
My choir class is going to sing this, I am a soprano and I can't wait to hit that high #queezy
wow!! i’m in her choir right now, actually. my mom used to be in her first choir. she is an amazing person and a good director. my family has known her over the years and it’s always so special to here her choirs sing! 🤍✨
Our choir is singing this and I'm a soprano! Beautiful
OMG MINE TOO
Bass 2... 3 notes xD
+Renoops And a "re", lol
Catherine Stewart #soprano #countertenor #igotthesolo
It's tough to sing -- not to mention tough to get the dynamics right. Otherwise one section steamrolls over another and the audience doesn't get all the intricacies of the rhythms and harmonies. But if you're in a good group that gels and have a director who can play traffic cop for the dynamics, DAMN, it's fun to perform!!!
Harkni hear the harps eternsl by alice patker
This is an intermediate level piece and sits in the sweet spot of the voices.
As a former RCC member great to see and hear the choir just as good as it was back when. GREAT JOB!
alto 2s have 2 notes hurrah!!!:)
FFFFFFDDDDFFDDF, FFFFFFDDDDFFDDF..... ye
bluestar9795 It's like a bad report card!
It's hard finding good recordings, glad I found this at least.
our choir class is singing this piece for the winter, i cant wait
How come no one ever knows about these songs unless they are singing it in their choirs? And even then, they only listen to the songs because they are in their choirs...
because religion is dying, so these types of songs are hardly sung by anyone anymore.
Because the mass recording industry favors the pop artist formula where you record shiploads of the same type pap & dreck stuff, and that’s because the high schoolers at whom it is marketed will become addicted/attached to that and never discover traditional music
@@geoffstemen3652 to be entirely honest i doubt kids from the 1960s were exactly listening to church hymns from the early 20s either
Religion is attacked by those who don't understand math, philosophy and Divinity.. Relativism is the lack of and inability to formulate a philosophy. Relativism is neccessarily tyrannical and erroneously makes gods of people. It rejects the Beauty of Truth. Our 3D + time experience is a mere underdetermined infinitesimal speck of An Omega Infinity of dimensions through which God can manifest our experience. This means there are infinitely many ways our ultiverse can create our physical laws, experience. Would you like to know more?
Learned this in all state reading chorus and i lovedddd it the rhythms are so darn tricky tho😩 but i actually did like this somg
this rendition is perfect
I'm singing this for our sacred concert this year. I'm an alto :)
I have a super easy part, but I sometimes wish I was a soprano. I like to be challenged with complex notes when I sing, but that's just me.
Yeah. I'm a soprano and my school did this last year. I've seen the music and some of the notes would straining for an alto like yourself. It's a very beautiful piece though.
Mystic Ross I'm an alto singing this in choir, but I must say, if you want a challenge, try the alto 1 notes. It gets confusing lol.
Mystic Ross funny, i'm a soprano on this song and i envy the altos. such a pretty part, especially when you guys clash
my very favorite song
Now THAT is progress Reinhardt can be proud of!!!!!
You guys have done something no one has done in a very very very long time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You see years ago when i was in highschool my choir teacher MR.cheek taught us this very song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and it was one of my favorite songs!!!!!!!!!!!! and i haven't heard this song in a long long long long time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you so much for bringing me back memories when i was in concert choir!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we're singing this as an all women's piece for our choir this winter :)
Totally Awesome ...we did this at the TMEA all state choir 1994.
Singing this for mpa this year!!
I'm a mezzo/alto and my choir is taking this song to contest. can't wait!
One of my favorite songs to perform as a baritone.
OMG beautiful!
wonderful performance of a great piece...
Pieza musical hermosa. Mujeres expertas: la compositora, la soprano y la directora de orquesta.
Gorgeous
I like watching you guys flip the pages :D. And I also like the funky rythms
We're singing this in our a capella choir. This is a really good song. Great job, guys :)
Best on RUclips
I love being a tenor on this song!
It sits in a nice spot for the tenors when we are allowed to sing at forte.
I'm doing this for choir this year and I'm a soprano alto and tenor in this song
I think bouncy and somewhat light like this is the way to do this piece.
❤
Well done!
Sounds great you guys! :-D Well-performed! (And yes, the flipping pages is fun to watch, he's right. ;-) )
As a baritone this song sounds so good
Same!!
I’m singing this in choir
I’m a bass
I love this song and i'm singing for high school choral festival but this verison is just a bit to fast and staccato to me The voice are beatiful though, especially the men and the soprano reach the high notes with beautifully. and i must the alto represented!! ALTOS FOREVER!!
banger
this song is difficult but isnt at the same time
The offset entrances are the tricky part, but that came be overcome quickly.
Any relation to Robert Shaw? Would be interesting?
Shaw wouldn't let the sopranos overrun the balance as here
Great song to be sung on Patriots Day 9/11
