Very well said Amanda! I was raised by my grandparents and my mom in the same house that my grandfather build nail by nail, board by board, during the great depression. Our house was one of the first houses on that block and still stands to this day. He never sat still for a moment. My grandmother labored at home as a home wife always baking and cooking and raising kids. She did work at Woolworth in their early years of marriage. My husband and I were just talking today about retirement. He said after retirement he cannot just stay home and sit around. By that point our grandson will be old enough for me to return to work outside the home and we will work opposite shifts so we do not have to deal with daycare. And I do agree that today so many just sit around with their hand out and expect the sky to rain down money on them. Ohhhh I could go on and on, especially in the area I live in. Beautiful work on that cardigan by the way! Have a great night! Love from Southern California!
Good morning Amanda! I'm 77 and am learning to live without my .lifetime partner. I've trained dogs since I was 12 years old. About 25 years ago my husband learned to train also and we started classes in our area. We also went to homes to help seniors work with their pets. Well, Jim is gone now. I am not quitting because half of me is gone. I am continuing to work with people and their dogs. I also teach Sunday school and a women's bi le study. Us seniors are a sturdy lot. We've experienced life and survived it all. Well, I'll get off my soap box and say good night. I love you and your channel. I had french toast for supper tonight! 😊 ❤❤
Amanda, we went to a funeral of a friend from church this week. She was 102 when she passed. Her sister at the age of 104 walked through the door with a walker. The message of a family member to the younger ones. There is a lot of history here. Visit them, talk to them, ask questions. One of the sons had just found out while watching a documentary with her that his father, a NY cop sat to the right of the stage to protect Martin Luther King. Older people love to share their stories, when asked.
Hi Amanda. The hoodie turned out nice. It's great you know how to make them like that. I like breakfast food for dinner. Hope you feel better. Take care
