Thanks! Glad you like it. Yeah a version that combines all the roster and advancements they came up with by Raw and has tag, rumble and cage all in one game would be great! Someone out there must be able to make that happen

Having owned a genesis and having owned these WWF games(non sega cd) I can say they were all quite bad. Not quite bad comparing it to a WWE game today, just in general. They were quite terrible but the only ones we had. WrestleWar was an option if the store you bought games from had it(none of the ones I visited did). I remember there used to be ad's in the back of EGM and GamePro(Video game magazines for those youngins) used to have ad's in the back which would often list games for sale. WWF Wrestlefest used to be listed quite often in those but never released. I LOVED that game and still play it through emulation to these days. Wrestlefest and WrestleWar were actual wrestling games. The rest were not. They were money grabs. It was before the time that game companies cared about their product and after the game crash of the 80's. While it was the "Golden Age" of gaming. For most it was a terrible time for gamers.

Wrestlefest and wrestle war were the best. I didn’t mind these ones at the time, but they’re hard to go back to now…other than for the nostalgia!

I’ll cover that in a future video. They’re basically the same game but this one has cage matches and that one has Rumble matches and less wrestlers which would have made sense on a rumble lol

You'd figure with the power of the Sega CD, Rage In The Cage would be THE definitive wrestling game for the time. Sadly the only real improvement from Super Wrestlemania & Royal Rumble was the bigger roster and voice overs. They drastically cut down on play modes and the Steel Cage match was pretty anticlimactic as all you had to do was get to the top of the cage and you'd automatically win.

This came before Raw, so Raw was the best of the bunch, but lacked cage matches. I guess they didn’t give this a Royal Rumble mode cause it came out too close to that game

Sadly, people couldn't have tag team matches in Rage in the Cage despite its roster (I never owned or played the game [or any other Mega CD game as I never owned the short lived add-on that was the Mega CD). HBK would have his Sweet Chin Music superkick in WWF Warzone (I don't know if he had it in the 2 WWE Mortal Kombat ripoffs [WrestleMania: The Arcade Game and In Your House which had fatalities as I never played these two games] which was the beginning of the 3D WWE videogame era but I expect that at the time of the 2D WWE videogame era it wasn't known by the people whom were making the WWF games on how to animate the HBK's Superkick in 2D.

I think Shawn does have the super kick in WM Arcade - you should try that game, it was one of my favourites when it came out and I think blended WWE with mortal Kombat really well

Some wrestlers haven't made the jump from the 2D WWF era to the 3D WWF/WWE era (e.g. Luna Vachon [the first female ever playable in a WWE videogame as she was in WWF Monday Nght Raw - only in the console versions of Genesis, SNES and 32X], Samu, both Nasty Boyz, Irwin R. Schyster, Crush [he was last in a WWF game in the GameGear version of Monday Night Raw under the Native Hawaiian gimmick that Crush used when he was aligned with Yokozuna and Mr. Fuji] which included having a goatee, using a new face paint design different from his Demolition character, and wearing a darker color scheme than the purple and orange Kona Crush character).
Others haven't had their old gimmick from the 2D era make it into the 3D era (e.g. Fatu who would become Rikishi. The 1,2,3 Kid [he was in WWF Monday Night Raw] who would became X-Pac and Syxx. Kwang [32X version of WWF Monday Night Raw via a cheatcode] who would become Savio Vega.).

Wow this is all cool I for - haven’t thought about that before, but you’re right - there’s a load that have never been in. 3D WWE game. I can’t even think of those were in any of the WCW games that were 3D. Brian Knobbs is possible and I’m sure Brian Adams is, but not sure about the others

When I got this game way back then, I was so disappointed. The voiceovers and FMV was really cool, but the fact that it was the same game engine as the Genesis games was such a slap in the face to me. I was hyped with the cover art and was hoping for a original game, but was sorely disappointed with the recycled gameplay. A glorified Genesis port with less modes.
