I love the concept of the white gunbelt! You really amaze me with these white gunbelts and holsters! I would love to see you make a complete silver one!
Looks like it leaves a good even beveled edge. Weaver also has a tool like this. As far as doing white on leather I would never use it cause I would have red places all over it. Seems I can't do any leather work without cutting myself, LOL. 😩
OMG lol LOL that is so gorgeous. Big ask - would you do an idiots guide (points to self) how you setup your airbrushing for leather working and if you use any particular paints/dyes/etc and why?
You mention Tandy Selection for this project. How would you compare it to Hermann Oak as far as stamping and the burnish it gives? I like the light color of imported vegtan as it gives a more accurate stain color. It is much cheaper than HO but at what sacrifice? 8 to 9 ounce is my usual weight. Thank you once again.
It tools nicely. It's been a while since I had any Hermann Oak. I live close to Tandy so I buy all my leather there. Nothing like being able pick out hides yourself.
@@RoadAgentLeather You are right about the ability to select what you buy. I shop at the Mesquite Tx store. Very nice people there. When I am looking for leather there I’m picky and really go through the stack. When I’m finished I restack it as a courtesy. They don’t mind at all.
That looks like something they would have used in the old movie westerns, I mean like Tom Mix or Hopalong Cassidy would have worn this. Maybe Roy Rogers too. Very blingy, flashy gun rigs were a big deal in the old western serials, too. That's awful nice work.
I only use milled veg-tan for my liners now. It's veg-tan that's been thrown in a tumbler as a last processing step. This results in a soft, almost chrome-tan feel. The primary benefit for me is that I can glue and stitch it "flat" without having to be concerned about it wrinkling when folded.
Depends on how much straps you're cutting. I think if you're a full-scale shop making saddle and tack all day it would be useful. It's overkill for what I do though.
My main working area is two tables I made from 2x4s and plywood. So roughly 4x8 feet. I'd say you need and area that's big enough to comfortably lay out the hides you're usually working with. Mine started that way .... but now I can barely roll out a double shoulder on it.
Ha! Thanks for the subscribe! I get that a lot on this video. However, if you watch the movie, it's Buster's shirt, pants, and hat that are white. His gun rig is brown. My video "Making a Western Style Cowboy Cartridge Belt" is more of an ode to his holster and belt.
A rigg perfect for Buster Scruggs awesome skill man !
I came to the comments looking for a Buster Scruggs mention. Did not disappoint.
Now all we need are dual holsters built into the boots for the senorita pistols
The ultimate “white hat” rig.
I would walk around my house wearing this everyday! Are your kidding me? So awesome!
Great looking! I would definitely wear that to a wedding
omgoodness, what style, thank you for posting sir, you are a true craftsman and pure genius =)
Now you need a nickel plated Colt with ivory grips. Very cool rig!
Make it a cap pistol, and it is a big seller in San Francisco, CA!
I was just airbrushing some Tandy leather white with some Angelus paints last night myself.
Beautiful looking belt and holster!

Thanks for the tip on using milled leather. It's a genius idea.
It sure would make a comfortable belt also. I would think.
Another beauty!
Thanks! And even more thanks for the subscription!
I've been waiting for you to make a belt. I like this video.
Very nice job they look great together. Thanks for sharing.
Elvis would have loved this. It would go perfect with his white suit. For T.C.B.
It is absolute Beautiful

Amazing work!
That was pretty cool with the paint. I was wondering how it was going to end up white!
That's gorgeous
Very nice job
Wow if you can't see that rig coming. You must be blind. Absolutely stunning. It's a wedding rig. Are you trying to tell us something? LOL 😆 🤣
"...like a Rhinestone Cowboy!" ;)
OMG lol LOL that is so gorgeous.

BTW have to blame-thank (in a good way) you and Chuck Dorset for inspiring so many of us to get into leatherworking
Sorry! (And thanks!)

cool very cool
Take my money!
thanks for watching!
Screw the jig to a larger board that you then clamp to the bench.
Good point. Thanks!
Exelente trabajo👍👍👍
please tell me there is somewhere i can buy some of your work!? freaking beautiful work man.
Any chance you could make another one Identical to this as a double rig
No, but I do still have this exact rig still. Shoot me an email if interested.
Yes Definitely interested could you send me your email plz
Yes Definitely interested could u send me your email plz
Another Masterpiece. How do I place an order if I want to get done a custom piece?
Beautiful work as usual...! 👍🏽👍🏽
What do you prefer to use for the liner..?
I've heard leather, sheep, pig, ect...

Thank you, I really appreciate your videos and the time you take to answer my questions.
I'd make a mess out of all that white, that's for sure.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Awesome work as usual. Love watching your videos. What kind of spray bottle are you using to dampen the leather?
it's the "fine mist sprayer" from Tandy Leather
@@RoadAgentLeather Thanks for the info. I will have to pick one up.
Beautiful. Where do you get your sanding belts for your sander/slicker. I have the same one and cannot find any
The Ballad of Buster Scruggs
So, to get the length right, you measure above the hips, around the waist, over the jeans?
Wherever you want the belt to hang, yes. I take that number and mark it as the spot for the second-tightest hole in the billet.
@@RoadAgentLeather Thank you, sir. Now, any idea how I'm supposed measure my wife without her knowing?🤔😜
😍
How do you like the double edge beveller? Do you think it's worth the money?
Depends on how much straps you're cutting. I think if you're a full-scale shop making saddle and tack all day it would be useful. It's overkill for what I do though.
@@RoadAgentLeather Thanks for the reply. It's also kind of on the expensive side for being a one trick pony.
Really nice but some cartridges with nickel plated brass would look even better in those loops.
If .45 LC ammo wasn't so expensive I would have purchased some. All I could do was polish up the cartridges I had.
the corner cutter and the bag hole cutter, where did you purchase these:?
all from Amazon. Great place to find inexpensive tools. I've had the best luck with the Oden and Wuta brands
Top 👏🏻🤝🏻🙂🙏🏻
How big is your workbench and what size would you recommend having? I need to find or build a bigger bench but I’m not sure just how big to go

Much appreciated! Thank you sir, I always enjoy your work
What skiver are you using to pull the weight down on those smaller straps?
ah. That is the Craftool "High-tech skiver" from Tandy. It's one of the first tools I purchased when I started getting serious about leatherwork.
@@RoadAgentLeather thank you Sir. Skiving by hand is one of my weakest points.
What! No rhinestones?
💥💥🔫✌🏾
Buster scrubs

Not impressed with the beveler.
I'd say it's geared more to the saddle and tack folks. Anyone who's spending time cutting a lot of heavy belts and straps.
@@RoadAgentLeather I can see that, just saying it isn't something that appeals to me. I do like the rig though.
