Thank you sooooooo much for having clean, manicured hands! So many don’t, and I find it distracting, and can’t watch the video….New subscriber here. Love your work, and learned a lot!!
I'm pretty sure I have all the Matchstick Mouse books, and I've colored in them a LOT. I love small format books, round format drawings, and cute critters.. and they check all those boxes. Even the paper is really good for Amazon, better than most. In fact I did almost the entire Christmas book on PDF when it was released free as a treasure hunt last holiday season (a ton of different artists put the PDF of a single page on their social media and you had to hunt around and find them), I printed them out on half pages and took them to work with me to do at lunch. Anyway.. I started out with mouse the same too, and let me tell you it does get repetitive and boring, even though I love doing everything else in the picture. There is a LOT of mouse in these books. I finally started challenging myself to use different colors for each new picture and it became a lot more enjoyable. By the end I had done her pretty much every color imaginable, and some of my favorites were tan, black with a light belly, kind of a brick red, and a blue grey. I've even done her with siamese points and spots. I actually used to raise fancy mice, and they do come in all of those colors. The newest spring book started incorporating a lot of other animals (although mouse is still on almost every page), and I hope he continues with that. There is a calf, lamb, tortoise, hedgehog, etc.
I do enjoy the matchstick mouse book, and I can see how doing the mouse the same on every page can become repetitive and boring. However, I don't colour in it page after page, so there is usually a little break between pages so hopefully I can manage to keep my interest in the book. I do want it to be an easy colour, so I may stick to it for this book. If I get another of the matchstick mouse books, I will likely consider doing the mouse different on each page - your idea is great and I can imagine it being so fun! I agree regarding the paper too - it does feel different (better) somehow. I would have loved the book to be a smaller format though I think 🤗💗
Oh wow shell... those are amazing ! ❤❤❤ beautiful! Summer nights page with the door... the blue color you chose.. WOW. Stunning. And the way you add your details is always something I look forward to seeing. You say your not an artist but you have the eye and the gift to see things that aren't there and create new pictures. So yes you are 😊❤ So talented. ✍👏
Thank you so much Diane! So glad you like my colouring style and I really did enjoy colouring in Summer Nights! I hope it doesn't take me so long to get round to the book again. Thanks for your positivity, means a lot 🤗💗
Hi Shelly! All of Your Finished Pictures are Absolutely Gorgeous! I love seeing Your Work! It's Super Hot here in Northern, Northern California 🫠 Have a Wonderful Day!💜💜xx
Hi Sherry, thank you so much! So glad you like the pages. The weather has been a bit cooler in the UK the last week, but we are supposed to get a heatwave next week! lol 🤗💗
Beautiful colorings. Love your Eriy page. Good to know that waterbased mediums work in those books. I'm also trying to work out how to approach her books. Thanks for sharing. Your coloring is inspirational ❤
Thank you so much! So glad you liked my Eriy page. Yes, I have struggled with Erin's English edition book for sure....very smooth for me I think, glad I managed to make it work recently. Now I won't avoid the book anymore as there are such beautiful illustrations in it 🤗💗
Have you ever tried watercolor ground, or gesso on the Amazon paper? It makes it sturdier for watercolor, and you can still use your pencils. Love, LOVE Your Work!!
Thanks for the tip….I tried gesso once in a Rita Berman book and I did not enjoy it sadly. But maybe I should give it a try again! So glad you like make work, thank you 🤗💗
I managed to snag 3 of her books before they sold out, all in the large size. In the midst of colouring my first page I ruined it and started a second...sigh I will eventually go back and try to fix it. Hate when that happens. Love your pages as always!
I know how you feel....once you go back to that page, try and see it through, I am sure it is better thank you feel right now 🤗💗 so glad you managed to get some of her books, they are so lovely!
I love the blue door and the pink flowers. The colors go beautifullytogether. (BTW--Albrecht Durer was spelled "arbitrary ", "arbit dural", and "artwork your " during your description of coloring this page. 😄)
I use closed captioning because I have trouble hearing. The CC people have been having trouble spelling Abrecht Durer. They just spelled it "arbitrary". 😄😄😄
Thank you so much, glad you like my pages. Sorry I haven't had a chance to catch up with messages recently. I tend to use a combination of sharpeners - an electric Tenwin sharpener to start with, once the pencil gets shorter I use Dahle 133 till the pencil is too short for it - and I finish off till I can't get anymore pencil with a KUM small silver handheld sharpener. Hope this helps!! (sorry I know you have message earlier asking me the same, it is taking a while to get to responding to messages at the moment)
Oh yes, l faune des bois, my favorite coloring book. If you want to do a color buddy with me. Tell how to proceed. I did the turtle and the triton. Love your page. I love the research i do before i color. I like to do realistic. Learn a lot on turtles and newts and tritons. If you want to see what I did. Just tell me how. ❤
Thank you so much! I have had a look at Amazon and a couple of stores, and you seem to have got the better price. So with regards to that it’s a good deal….but I wouldn’t be able to guarantee it won’t go any lower. Hope this helps 🤗💗
Your work is always so so stunning. I watch everything you do to learn. Thank you so so much for doing these wonderful videos. 💜💜

Very pretty! I saw Blicks has Faber Castell Albrecht Durer on sale for $167.69. Is that a good price or should I wait for lower price? Thanks Shelly!
