When you decide to do a youtube coloring with your new Pablos I would love to do the coloralong with you!!!! Me personally don’t buy so many books anymore as I want to color more in the ones I already have.
I have some books I bought a long while back that are now out of print, such as Mouse Guard and Serene, but despite finding that out relatively recently (through watching haul videos), I had no urgency to buy books that I wanted. Then a couple of weeks ago, I went to buy The Way Home by Morgan O'Brien, that had been in my Amazon wishlist for a while, and found that was out of print. So now, if I really want a book I get it while I can, because I have no printer for printing pdf versions and also like you, I want to colour in books and fill them with colour, not have clunky ringbinders of loose pages on my shelves! Great haul. As it happens I bought that Japanese fairy tales book from Amazon Japan, just last night!
Oooh it’s so good you managed to get your hands on mouseguard and serene - I didn’t even know they existed until I heard they are no longer available 😂 and I am so disappointed as I would love them in my collection!! It’s good you don’t hesitate to get books now…you never know when you will miss out right?!! 🤗💗
I love Mariola Budek's work but I just wish I could get her work in a coloring book. The only thing I can find are PDF's from Etsy and I don't have a printer! I hope one day she will have coloring books that we can buy because I would buy every coloring book that she put out!
Yes, Mariola Budeks work is beautiful!! I especially love her cute illustrations. She does have some on Etsy that are ready printed in bundles that you could buy as physical pages, so you could check those out. Not sure how much they cost of anything, haven't yet bought any from her! Hope this helps 🤗💗

Loved all the books you bought. I am glad you managed to get some books from book depository. I didn’t get any quick buys from there as by the time I knew about it, it was over. I have stopped buying Amazon printed books as I like decent paper, yes I am a paper snob, lol. Thanks for sharing and your husband is wonderful for buying you the pablos. I don’t have them but I do have the lumys and lightfast as they work wonderfully together. The chromoflow 72 set went down from $238 Australian to just over $100 so I snapped them up as I love the intense pigments and colours in that set. It turned out cheaper to buy the chromoflow than the purchase of the extra inktense from Derwent, no regrets. I have been wanting the chromoflow since they were released in India and the USA but the price was astronomical so I took Harry’s advice (from The Art Gear Guide) and have bided my time. I kept seeing posts by everyone which is how I found out….I rarely shopped from them so I wouldn’t have known myself either! Glad I am not the only one who has an issue with Amazon paper….I know lots of people are happy to work with it. But it is definitely sad as there are some lovely books out there!! I totally agree with you about the Amazon paper. I have stopped buying books because I do prefer better quality which is such a shame as I miss out on lots of great colouring books with pages I love. I also think some of them are priced high considering the quality and I too do not like double images in one book, would be happier to pay more for great paper and only one set of images. The Paule Brun book I gave away only due to the fact of the branches/sprigs etc coming out of all the animals, a little creepy to me sadly. I am glad I am not the only one fussy with paper - it does change the whole experience of colouring for me, and I don't like fighting with the paper 😂 I totally see what you mean about the Paula Brun book....the second book Amazone has fewer of these kind of illustrations, but sadly they are still there. Some super books here, I don't think you'll regret them. I have that last lovely watercolour book, but as yet too chicken to work in it, it's so beautiful though. Karolina K has her own website, and I have watched that if I wanted to get one of her books. She seems to only re-print book quite in frequently, but they do pop back up on there.I thought she wasn't going to re-print, but the one I wanted did seem to get re-printed. I find her work very hard to work as it's so dark, it's beautiful, Im just not sure I'm adding anything by colouring. enjoy all your lovely new stuff, x👍🫶🏻

You’ve convinced me to buy the full Albrecht Durer set as it was a good price, so I’m happy that you stick to those. I’d suggest you get the bluish pale in Supracolor and add it in to your AD
I love my ADs way too much to stop using them, don't worry! They will always be my go to pencils.....and the bluish pale is stunning!! I may have to consider getting it in supracolor, thank you 🤗💗
I love my Pablo pencils. I use them a lot in combination with my polychromos because they work well together and the shades of colors work well together in my opinion lol. I think they will work well with the way you color. Hope you enjoy them 😊

I have the 40 set of the caran d'ache supracolor...not sure if it's the same pencils as your set, but i will say this "I LOVE 'EM!" I would luv very much to see you color with your caran d'ache pencils. Im debating whether or not to take the plunge to buy the full 120 set myself. I agree with you, I don’t like double pages on coloring books. I’m lucky that my sister is into coloring so we split the book and we go and get them binded we split the cost of buying and binding so is a win win. But then unfortunately my collection has grown like crazy 🤪
Yes, Carolina Kubiowski only does a limited number of her books and hasn’t reprinted any. When I asked, she said she had no plans to reprint. I have a copy of the first book-po drugie stronie snu-that is brand new, never colored in if you might be interested in purchasing it. I bought it and it’s just one of those books that keeps getting passed over in favor of others.
Makes sense, some of the artists do tend to do that - like Klara Markova too. I guess I don't buy books quick enough 😂 I will check out the flip throughs of the book to see if that is one of the books I would want and I will definitely let you know if I wish to buy it, thank you 🤗💗
Nice haul! “Exclusive” means exclusive at the time. It’s like the news.They have an exclusive on a story because they were first until everyone else has the story. I equate “exclusive” with “first. Happy coloring :-)
Beautiful books, they are so nice! Dont be too hard on yourself, about buying several at one time. Look at it this way, your all stocked up with the 36 books, which you will enjoy for a long time. I just wont pay those Etsy shipping prices, but yes I did do a book depository order before they went out of buisness. Thank you for sharing!

I have them stocked up ready to go and until then I am definitely enjoying flipping through the uncoloured pages and admiring the illustrations! Etsy is a bit pricey....I have only ever bought Klaras books on there. Now that book depository is closed down, I hope we are able to source the Korean books elsewhere other than Etsy!! 🤗💗
I am pretty sure it is exclusive at time of printing. Artist can still put image into their next book. I am thinking of getting pablos, please share your thoughts.

I looked forever for a handheld sharpener I could live with when my pencils get so short I can't get them into my Dahle anymore. I too settled on the KUM, however I wanted to mention they have a lovely contained version with a glass jar to hold the shavings. It's the perfect size and much more convenient. The top screws on so it's easy to remove yet doesn't pop off when you don't want it to.
Hi Shelly! I'm really looking forward to seeing your review on the Pablos. I'd be interested to hear which particular colours in the Pablo set you think would be good to buy as open stock to use in combination with Polychromos/AD. I'm also not keen on the branches growing out of the animals in Paule Brun's book, but I'm hoping to cover them up where I can. I haven't purchased Amazone yet because I want to see how I get on with Animaux Des Bois first. I do have Leila Duly's new book though. It's a large book but it's really beautiful. I'm looking forward to colouring in it.

I would love to follow a color along with Pablo’s . I have them and only swatched then . In my particular swatch book they are the best looking swatch in there . They just different to me . I treasure them long enough, time to use them ! lol ❤

I hope you do a color along with your new Pablo's. I don't have Albrecht Durer pencils, so I can't follow along. I love my Pablo's but honestly I use my Prismacolor's more. Probably because I know them so well.
I have been playing with the Palbos, and they are lovely pencils. Lots to learn....liked you side, I know my Albrecht Durers so well now, I just love sticking to them 😂 I will keep playing with the Pablos and hopefully do a colour along sometime soon!! 🤗💗

I have the second book of Aeppol forest girl premium edition as well. It takes watercolor paints and the FC Albert Dūrer pencils beautifully. If you ever wanna do a buddy color in that book, I would be happy to. I need a little push to work in that book.. 😁
Love the video and love your coloring. I also got the kanoko egusa book and did not like the paper. I took picture of the pages and clean them up on my iPad using the edit feature for picture and procreate. I also lighten the black lines and then uploaded them to books. I printed one of the pages using watercolor paper and it was a Sooo much fun. I do this with books I like the artwork but don’t like the paper Thank you for sharing your art learned a bunch
Nice haul - I love the Pablo pencils, there are several unique colors in the set. If you want the watercolor version, look at the SupraColors, they match up with the Pablo colors. I got several open stock to add to my Albrecht Durer watercolor pencils

love your Haul Shel and I have a few pablo's not used them yet fully! i tried them and found them a little hard to my liking perhaps it was the paper not sure! I will get them out tomorrow and have a play, and those watercolour books are delish! oh i dont need more books roflmao! can't wait to start our buddy colour I am sure yours is going to look amazing

I am trying to play with my Pablos on and off (can't seem to get away from using my ADs though 😂), but to be honest I finding them quite soft compared to Polys and ADs....but I have never used prismas, so I am sure they would be a lot harder than them from what I have heard! A lot of times when something is marked as "exclusive", it's a timed exclusivity, same as in the gaming market, where for example a game will be only 1 year exclusive on a platform, but they only mention it in the small print, or not at all. I think it's the same here as Colouring Heaven magazine, where they only pay for a timed exclusivity, as total exclusivity will be too expensive, and they can still market it as "exclusive" to sell more copies. It's kind of a marketing strategy. Personally I would like to see a service where you can create your own book based on a selection of colouring pages, and then can choose the quality and such. I would gladly pay more to get a good quality colouring book where I love all the pictures in it. I also don't like doubles, as like you say, there are enough colouring books and not enough time to colour them all. But when it comes with doubles, I take them out and give them to my niece or others that like to colour.

I think the artists make a few new exclusive illustrations for the Colouring Haven magazine but they still have the right to publish them later in their own coloring books if they choose to do it. So technically the pictures are exclusive for the CH magazine at the time of publishing as I see it, but they may not stay exclusive forever. If what I'm saying makes any sense lol.
Unfortunately they are not available on Amazon. You can buy it directly from Colouring Heaven’s website. Where are you based? In UK you can find them in hobby craft, WHSmith, newsagents or supermarkets. And I think in US they are available in some stores too. Hope this helps 🤗💗

I'm not sure about how to get Carolina Kubikowski(I probably spelled her name wrong! Sorry!) books but I do remember that Lucy from Lucy Just Adds Colour got 4 of her books and did a video about them a while back. I want to say that she ordered them from Carolina on her website because she packaged them very special, so I know they came straight from Carolina. So I think Lucy would be the one to ask about that! She will be able to tell you how she got her books!

How do you use your Albrecht Durer pencils as watercolour pencils, you mentioned something called activatpr prncils, is this a medium that activates normal pencils so you can use them as watercolour pencils?
I have a video on all the ways that I use my Albrecht Dürer pencils - ruclips.net/video/R9ejhO_sQgg/видео.html with these pencils I would use water to activate. However you can use blender pens too. For pencils that are not waterbased, you can use solvents to help blend them, such as Zest-it. I have not got much experience with this, so I don't know how well they work. 🤗💗

Unless Coloring Haven has bought the actual rights to the illustrations, but I'm not 100% sure. And don't worry about uncolored books, 36 is really nothing to my several hundreds of uncolored ones 😂

I'd actually messaged Carolina Kubikowski about her imaginary friends book and I know that one in particular she said will not be re-published. I'm not so sure about her others but it seems as though she only has a limited stock of each title!
I guess every person that does a review is giving a very subjective view of the pencils - so it is personal to them. Each person will have a different view or personal experience of using the pencils. I will probably too 🤗💗
I am confused by how many of you colorists who post regularly have such strong negative responses to the "hidden objects" in some of the mythographic series books. To me they are little fun whimsies that push the little kid in me to have fun even while I am doing more serious coloring in the larger picture. Just a difference in how to approach them.
Lol, yeh I guess we are all different....I used to love playing games with hidden objects, however for some reason in my colouring pages I am not so keen on some of them. But it definitely doesn't stop me from colouring in the books....I just work over of them or cover them up. 🤗💗
Would love to see colour a longs using the Pablos, I have a full set and do not use them enough.

You’ve convinced me to buy the full Albrecht Durer set as it was a good price, so I’m happy that you stick to those. I’d suggest you get the bluish pale in Supracolor and add it in to your AD
I love my ADs way too much to stop using them, don't worry! They will always be my go to pencils.....and the bluish pale is stunning!! I may have to consider getting it in supracolor, thank you 🤗💗

I love my Pablo pencils. I use them a lot in combination with my polychromos because they work well together and the shades of colors work well together in my opinion lol. I think they will work well with the way you color. Hope you enjoy them 😊

I have the 40 set of the caran d'ache supracolor...not sure if it's the same pencils as your set, but i will say this "I LOVE 'EM!" I would luv very much to see you color with your caran d'ache pencils. Im debating whether or not to take the plunge to buy the full 120 set myself. I agree with you, I don’t like double pages on coloring books. I’m lucky that my sister is into coloring so we split the book and we go and get them binded we split the cost of buying and binding so is a win win. But then unfortunately my collection has grown like crazy 🤪

Yes, Carolina Kubiowski only does a limited number of her books and hasn’t reprinted any. When I asked, she said she had no plans to reprint. I have a copy of the first book-po drugie stronie snu-that is brand new, never colored in if you might be interested in purchasing it. I bought it and it’s just one of those books that keeps getting passed over in favor of others.
Makes sense, some of the artists do tend to do that - like Klara Markova too. I guess I don't buy books quick enough 😂 I will check out the flip throughs of the book to see if that is one of the books I would want and I will definitely let you know if I wish to buy it, thank you 🤗💗
Nice haul! “Exclusive” means exclusive at the time. It’s like the news.They have an exclusive on a story because they were first until everyone else has the story. I equate “exclusive” with “first. Happy coloring :-)

I have them stocked up ready to go and until then I am definitely enjoying flipping through the uncoloured pages and admiring the illustrations! Etsy is a bit pricey....I have only ever bought Klaras books on there. Now that book depository is closed down, I hope we are able to source the Korean books elsewhere other than Etsy!! 🤗💗

I looked forever for a handheld sharpener I could live with when my pencils get so short I can't get them into my Dahle anymore. I too settled on the KUM, however I wanted to mention they have a lovely contained version with a glass jar to hold the shavings. It's the perfect size and much more convenient. The top screws on so it's easy to remove yet doesn't pop off when you don't want it to.

Hi Shelly! I'm really looking forward to seeing your review on the Pablos. I'd be interested to hear which particular colours in the Pablo set you think would be good to buy as open stock to use in combination with Polychromos/AD. I'm also not keen on the branches growing out of the animals in Paule Brun's book, but I'm hoping to cover them up where I can. I haven't purchased Amazone yet because I want to see how I get on with Animaux Des Bois first. I do have Leila Duly's new book though. It's a large book but it's really beautiful. I'm looking forward to colouring in it.

I would love to follow a color along with Pablo’s . I have them and only swatched then . In my particular swatch book they are the best looking swatch in there . They just different to me . I treasure them long enough, time to use them ! lol ❤

I hope you do a color along with your new Pablo's. I don't have Albrecht Durer pencils, so I can't follow along. I love my Pablo's but honestly I use my Prismacolor's more. Probably because I know them so well.
I have been playing with the Palbos, and they are lovely pencils. Lots to learn....liked you side, I know my Albrecht Durers so well now, I just love sticking to them 😂 I will keep playing with the Pablos and hopefully do a colour along sometime soon!! 🤗💗

I have the second book of Aeppol forest girl premium edition as well. It takes watercolor paints and the FC Albert Dūrer pencils beautifully. If you ever wanna do a buddy color in that book, I would be happy to. I need a little push to work in that book.. 😁

I took picture of the pages and clean them up on my iPad using the edit feature for picture and procreate. I also lighten the black lines and then uploaded them to books. Nice haul - I love the Pablo pencils, there are several unique colors in the set. If you want the watercolor version, look at the SupraColors, they match up with the Pablo colors. I got several open stock to add to my Albrecht Durer watercolor pencils

A lot of times when something is marked as "exclusive", it's a timed exclusivity, same as in the gaming market, where for example a game will be only 1 year exclusive on a platform, but they only mention it in the small print, or not at all. I think it's the same here as Colouring Heaven magazine, where they only pay for a timed exclusivity, as total exclusivity will be too expensive, and they can still market it as "exclusive" to sell more copies. It's kind of a marketing strategy. Personally I would like to see a service where you can create your own book based on a selection of colouring pages, and then can choose the quality and such. I would gladly pay more to get a good quality colouring book where I love all the pictures in it. I also don't like doubles, as like you say, there are enough colouring books and not enough time to colour them all. But when it comes with doubles, I take them out and give them to my niece or others that like to colour.

I think the artists make a few new exclusive illustrations for the Colouring Haven magazine but they still have the right to publish them later in their own coloring books if they choose to do it. So technically the pictures are exclusive for the CH magazine at the time of publishing as I see it, but they may not stay exclusive forever. If what I'm saying makes any sense lol.

Unfortunately they are not available on Amazon. You can buy it directly from Colouring Heaven’s website. Where are you based?
In UK you can find them in hobby craft, WHSmith, newsagents or supermarkets. And I think in US they are available in some stores too.

At the back of the book, it usually has a barcode and a note saying Printed by Amazon UK (or whatever country it is printed in). On amazon itself, it says independently published, which is usually most likely amazon paper. Hope this helps! 🤗💗

I'm not sure about how to get Carolina Kubikowski(I probably spelled her name wrong! Sorry!) books but I do remember that Lucy from Lucy Just Adds Colour got 4 of her books and did a video about them a while back. I want to say that she ordered them from Carolina on her website because she packaged them very special, so I know they came straight from Carolina. So I think Lucy would be the one to ask about that! She will be able to tell you how she got her books!

How do you use your Albrecht Durer pencils as watercolour pencils, you mentioned something called activatpr prncils, is this a medium that activates normal pencils so you can use them as watercolour pencils?

with these pencils I would use water to activate. However you can use blender pens too.
For pencils that are not waterbased, you can use solvents to help blend them, such as Zest-it. I have not got much experience with this, so I don't know how well they work. 🤗💗

why review the pencils? there are a million reviews already whats going to be different in your review?
I guess every person that does a review is giving a very subjective view of the pencils - so it is personal to them. Each person will have a different view or personal experience of using the pencils. I will probably too 🤗💗
I am confused by how many of you colorists who post regularly have such strong negative responses to the "hidden objects" in some of the mythographic series books. To me they are little fun whimsies that push the little kid in me to have fun even while I am doing more serious coloring in the larger picture. Just a difference in how to approach them.
Lol, yeh I guess we are all different....I used to love playing games with hidden objects, however for some reason in my colouring pages I am not so keen on some of them. But it definitely doesn't stop me from colouring in the books....I just work over of them or cover them up. 🤗💗
