Here are my favorite illustrators. I am simply enchanted by your colors. I can't wait to watch all your videos and learn from you and also be able to appreciate so much care and creativity. Congratulations. Sorry for the mistakes, I don't speak English so I need to use a translator.
Hi Shelly! You’re pages are absolutely stunning and remarkable, even more than some of the best artist I’ve seen. I believe because you have such a beautiful eye for color and it’s placement is why you’re so talented. Even your beginning pieces that you don’t care for are stunning. Thank you so much for sharing your pictures!😊💗
Great pages. That cat book looks beautiful, might have to buy it. I've got the sketch mouse one, but haven't had the courage to colour in it yet lol. Xxx
Thank you so much! 🤗💗 The cat book is a gorgeous book! Sadly, I am not as keen on her new book, mainly because it is portraits....although the artwork is beautiful once again!
I prefer scenes, rather than portraits, too. These are some of my favorite books. Your coloring is impressive, even on the pages you're not very happy with. TFS 💜
Shel, I really enjoyed seeing your pages in these beautiful Japanese books. I have all of them, but I’ve only colored in Eiry and one page in Symphony of Cute Animals. I’m intimidated by them, but they are all stunning. I am going to try a page out of the Yuyuri book soon. I think the trick with the smoother paper is to either use water based markers as a base, or to activate the watercolor pencils first. I know Erica from Elm Colors uses Inktense and water based markers on her pages a lot, and her pages are always beautiful. I look forward to seeing you color in the Necco Nelco book and the Yuyuri book. I will check out your other videos. I love the effects you create with your Albrecht Durer pencils. I only have the 36 set, but I also have the full set of Polychromos. Take care ❤😊🎄🤗
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch 🤗💗 these books intimidate me too, because the artwork is so stunning! But once in a while I manage to push past that and do a page.... Yes, I have managed to discover how to colour in the smooth pages with my mediums, and the last page I coloured I was pretty happy! Thanks for the suggestions 💗
@@shelscolouringjourney Shel, I’m so excited! I was able to get the full set of Albrecht Durers with my Christmas money! I can’t wait to try some of your color alongs to learn how to use them 💕. Happy Colouring.
Hi shel, as always beautiful work and I've noticed all your pages have a photo glossy finish, do you use a medium to seal your pages? How do you achieve the glossy finish?
Hello! I didn't realise my pages looked glossy. I do use a fixative at the end of my colouring, Winsor and Newton Professional fixative, which is a workable fixative, but it doesn't have a glossy finish. Maybe it is all the layering of the pencils 🤗💗
Thank you! I have heard they work well in the English editions....don't own any, so had to try and figure out how to make the pencils I have work 😂 and it was definitely a challenge 💗
Outstanding work, I'm sitting here working in my own books. Your shading is something I look forward to be able too master.
Hi Shelly beautiful pages thank you for sharing enjoyed watching.💙😊

Thank you so much! 🤗💗 I do struggle with motivating myself to do a predominantly portrait page, I have to really be in the mood 😂

Hi Shel. Your work is absolutely stunning and the attention to detail is to be commended! Kudos to you!
Hi Kelly, thank you so much! Thanks for taking the time to watch 🤗
Thank you for sharing, they’re all so beautiful ❤❤❤
Thank you so much 🤗💗
for Eiry books the best choice is Prismacolor. I´ve tried Polychoromos but it didn´t work well
Thanks for sharing….sadly don’t own them. But may be something to try out 🤗💗

The oval pages with the frame, how did you do the grey background? Posca?
If you are asking about the Yururi book, the grey background on those particular pages were already grey pages as title pages for each season 💗
@@shelscolouringjourney Ah, that is why it was so even. Thanks.
Faber castle pencils are not great for Eriy books, the English version. Prisma colors work much better. 😊
