Had the pleasure of knowing Billy Freeman Sr, he was so proud of his son after that Miami boat show. Freeman boat works deserves everything they've earned.
Nick I really enjoy you making content like this showing real life & real world situations. Mechanical issues and weather are never talked enough about on fishing channels or shows. Swordfishing is tough enough when you add rough conditions like you were in the odds landing one are slim. Glad you kept positive vibes the whole way!
No doubt! Videos usually don’t do the wave height Justice but figured this one did when the waves were breaking into a 42’ freeman when fishing . Thanks for watching
Changed my mind about the gas being too expensive, 😆watching that bad boy eat the waves on the way home, What an epically amazing machine. Thanks for the videos.
I talked to a guy with a similar hull, he said it was great--until it wasn't. That, at a certain point, it went WAY up and almost went over, then slammed down so hard it jarred his teeth. He felt in horrible weather he would prefer a mono hull, that rolls easier, but would go over--harder in the rough. I don't know, I only know when I fished on a cat like yours, it was the coolest riding--and fishing hull I've ever been on. HUGE deck and easy access. Thanks for posting--it actually looked like a beautiful day on the ocean to me--rough and all.
Every Hull has its advantages but also has its drawbacks. The cat out preforms mono hulls in most sea conditions. Also the fishability and comfort is much better.
That's fishing some days swing and a miss. I just want to add one comment I always catch my biggest fish in rough weather always. A great one everybody great video. 👍👍👍👍
Man I've never been seasick in my life but that time laps was getting to me! Lol . Pretty ruff but no water over the back, looks like a great Hull. I live two or three Hrs. north of you and I wouldn't have been out there, not in my boat anyway!
Generally speaking people who say 6-8ft seas get called out for BS! Those were DEFINITELY some big ass seas. Some I'd say were bigger than 6-8. I wanted to throw up sitting at my desk - Great job!
That rough water is the biggest reason I retired this year after 42 years my back is shot. Now that I'm retired I only go in calm water. But it's fun watching you do it. Ha
Beat to death and soaking wet we would save the day with some specks and reds or a Spanish . Then again my boat was 19’ and it was the Gulf of Mexico and it wasn’t a charter either
WOW THISE ARE SOME BIG 🌊'S Good video I enjoyed it even there was no swords that's ok its fishing not catching like you said. Mahi action is always great. 🤜🤛🐟🚤🌊
We don’t have trim tabs on the 42. Usually just stick the motors all the way down and open the ballast tanks. The tanks fill when you run, pair of 25 gallon tanks in the bow, so it adds a little more weight up there and helps with a headsea
Yup, not a day for me anymore defiantly some 10's in the mix, would have been a meal @ the local steak joint till mother nature got back to being nice!! Freeman or no Freeman..
Have you looked into one of those Gyros you can get for boats these days which stop them rocking around in seas like this, not cheap but maybe something to look into
My opinion don't mean much as all know is what I've researched but it seems like a traditional mono hull with trim tabs for running and a seakeeper for fishing would out weigh the benefits of the cat efficiency. Admittedly I'm just a keyboard expert. Either way, great content and a fantastic boat.
Thanks for watching. Speed, comfort, quality of build, efficiency are all reasons for a freeman. If I ever went back to a mono hull I would get a sea keeper most likely, just no plans on going back anytime soon
stanz, would a big 96" trolling motor help when swording? it doesnt have to spot lock and hold you in position but it could slow your drift and keep your bow into the waves right? ive seen it hold a 37 freeman, im sure it would slow your drift by 50 to 75% at moderate throttle, less rocking side to side also.
Do you like that veri veri teriyaki stuff on the Mahi Mahi better then Cajun blackened stuff ?? Was gonna try it just caught about 172 pounds of Mahi from the Oregon inlet in the Outer Banks NC where you guys fishing at ?? Nice boat as well
I have more on order. As of right now I have 2 but they are mislabeled 20 lb on the sticker. If you shoot me an email I’m happy to do a little discount if you want them. Stanzfishing@gmail.com

You gotta love when those lines start whistling.
The calm soothing music is a nice touch to chaos of the rough seas and wind. 😂😂😂
🙃
That freeman can handle those seas very impressively!
Glad you guys made it back safe and sound!
Rough day brother….glad you guys got it done….much calmer days coming
That mahi save was AWESOME! 😂😂😂
👊🏻
3:56 best save I have ever seen Great video as always!
1:15 'No fish no pay' was a Morris and Marty Lewis Main Attraction slogan from circa 1990. Much respect to those guys.
Finally a video of true 6-8 footers! Most videos show this size waves and call them 15 footers lol
No doubt! Videos usually don’t do the wave height Justice but figured this one did when the waves were breaking into a 42’ freeman when fishing . Thanks for watching
Whoo Wooo...another new StanzFam video.
“Ohhh yeahhh…. ohhhhh yeahhh” hahaha love it man
You are the best capt. ever
Changed my mind about the gas being too expensive, 😆watching that bad boy eat the waves on the way home, What an epically amazing machine. Thanks for the videos.
I'd make a mesh barrel to put around the float to keep foam from getting under it 🤙
Those freeman boats are awesome boats!!!
The best video 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for watching
That was a good save👍🏾
12:45 -- Was fun watching you troll these awful clients 😂
There's always some jerks 🤷♂️ Glad you got home safe.
Wait wait. Awful clients? Why would you put a comment like that? You know where you are you're a hater a real piece of crap

Cats are a really rough ride when you are going into a sizable head sea. It's their biggest flaw unfortunately.
@@airick4038 Trimarans may be the future. Best of both worlds. Though expensive and big.

@@StanzFam I'll stick with a 68 Viking. Smoke that Freeman.
@@KGFishyFingers it's like me saying I'll stick with a 120' wave piercing catamaran, it will smoke your viking..
Lordie! Cameras always make the waves look smaller than they are. That one set of real big ones made that huge boat look pretty small!

Thanks! Definitely a few bigger ones in the mix.
That trip back in a deep Vee woulda broke some guys' backs! Looks like a great time! Beautiful boat!
6-8?!? Some of those look 10-12!! Great video again Nick!!

What the hell Nick youre a MADMAN! LOVE IT
Amazing content👍👍👍
9:20 "good job for a 27 year old .. that looks 40 " this cracked me up !!
Great video. Thanks for sharing that trip with us.
Would have loved to see drone footage of you running home. Would have been some epic shots!
Nice boat 🚢 strong waves
6 to 8.....That's a dance on the stream on the 42'!!😅👀🎣
That rough water is the biggest reason I retired this year after 42 years my back is shot. Now that I'm retired I only go in calm water. But it's fun watching you do it. Ha
It definitely takes a toll on the body. Congrats on your retirement!
What a ride!
I would rethink that steel grill brush! That's a great way to have someone ingest a steel bristle! (would hate for that to happen to the baby)
Paid to play that day jack... i'd have to el paso on that trip.
Wow ! I wonder what the ride would have been line in a
boat other than a Freeman Cat.
Unbearable for anyone not used to it I bet
Stay safe guys lol Fun riding in that stuff lol :)
Mahi tip....leave your first catch in the water alongside your boat...the whole herd comes looking for food. Uses barb less hooks to catch the herd.
i love this content
Thanks for watching
Cool video!
There are many speeds other than full throttle. If you back off a little in rough weather you can preserve your boat and your spine.
Love this content 👏
Yep I remember those late spring wind furries and no keeper anything’s until we would make it past anclote island
Beat to death and soaking wet we would save the day with some specks and reds or a Spanish . Then again my boat was 19’ and it was the Gulf of Mexico and it wasn’t a charter either

What were your trim tab settings? It seemed to be head sea. Great video
We don’t have trim tabs on the 42. Usually just stick the motors all the way down and open the ballast tanks. The tanks fill when you run, pair of 25 gallon tanks in the bow, so it adds a little more weight up there and helps with a headsea
Damn you don’t mind that boat hitting😂 I been in that situation on a 31 and I can tell you that we ended up trolling for most of the way home
boats are built for it...
Electronic float switches, worth the swap.
Happy Mother's Day to all the Mommy's 🙏 Viva Cristo Rey 🙏
Footage of the ride home from a second boat or drone would’ve been beautiful!
Where do you store the wings when not in use?
In canvas bags in the left side of the coffin box
@@StanzFamis it rolled? Who made the bag?

Hi Nick.. That's got to run 750 k ish ? Will probably be my next hull. Can't beat a Cat.
The boat does great. This was a very rough day. Currently You can get a decent used one in the $650-$800k range. New ones are north of a million
When your drifting for swordfish, do you turn off 3 of your motors?
2 or 3 depending on the current
Dolphin is my favorite saltwater fish to eat. The billfish are fun but you can’t eat a trophy. Nothing wrong with that day’s catch.
No fish no pay is Marty’s from Main Attraction in marathons saying 😂
Good day to test SeaKeeper.

yes you can
Are the batteries low on the sea keeper lol or is it on a break?? I would think a boat like that would have one I'm sure it does
Much rougher ride than I was expecting. Captains 42 v appears much smoother.
We were the only boat out there swordfishing that day 🤷🏻♂️

Get ULTRA Safety Bilge Pumpswitches and you’ll never get a stuck float switch again. Freeman handling those 8 footers like a boss.
We have the ultra switches in the after lazzette boxes. I’ve had those get stuck and go bad as well.

Should prob have kill switch on running in seas like that, especially that far off shore
How far do you have to go out to get swordfish?
25-45 nautical miles
Does your Freeman have a Seakeeper?
No
We had 23 foot seas yesterday off the New England coast. Guess that's a non starter for anything not a big ship.

How many feet pic's does a person gotta sell to get a boat like this??
