Am I the only one that has watched this video 100 times already? Great editing, great story, great boat, great people. Show's what's good about this country.
"this is America, people" I swear that line gave me goosebumps! Thanks you for the story, and for the encouragement. Thanks for taking a change, and letting a man who's doing the same know it can work!!! Wish y'all all the success!
I am Australian and even I acknowledge America IS the greatest country in the world. Of the people, for the people and by the people. The country created to give people their God given right to succeed. A world without Americans is not a world. Love you mate.
@@oldstudbuck3583 it actually was a very relevant comment. What I like about this story is that it's not only about a man that has a natural understanding of how a boat hull should be designed, but also his self belief and his determination to see it through. I would also like to mention, that his wife stood by him from the start and supported his venture - so she deserves credit also! To me, this story is about a Free Man, and that inspires me most. Thank you!
Fantastic American ingenuity, one hell of an American dream and very hard work brought a GORGEOUS vessel to life. Very good video but it still does this boat manufacture little justice. Keep up the awesome work Freeman, if I ever win the Fl lottery your sales team will be one of the first to be contacted from me. Beautiful vessels.
The first time I saw a Freeman Boat, it was at Baker's Haulover Inlet in Miami. What it really caught my eyes was, how smooth and fast behaved in big waves. Science then my dream has been to own one. The new 47 Lr is on my bucket list for sure. This story makes me feel so proud to live in South Carolina. God Bless America.
My first experience with Freeman Rockets was following Capt Nicky Stanczyk Charter Fishing out of Their family Marina IN the Florida Keys. (Bud and Mary's) I got hooked on his RUclips Channel and Fishing off the 36ft Freeman then the 42ft Freeman. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC BOATS. Fishing off a 42ft boat and being able to get to Your Location First because The Freeman BOAT flies at 70+ mph Safely. Capt Nick has done more for THE FREEMAN BOAT COMPANY by just using it daily. The Fit and Finish are TOP NOTCH, TOTALLY SICK BOAT, GREAT JOB TO THE FREEMAN FAMILY‼️ Vinny 🇺🇸
I remember when Scott sent me a PM and we had a brief conversation about me running a new Freeman out of Oregon Inlet, NC when they were blowing up down South but had minimal sales up north. That winter would have bankrupt me but I regret not taking that offer more often than not. I will own a Freeman one day soon ... Soon.
I've just recently heard of Freeman boats through watching Capt. Nick Stanczyk's RUclips channel. From day 1 from watching his channel, I've become a HUGE fan of Freeman boats. I've always been a fan of anything that is beautifully crafted. The fact that these boats have the performance they have just make them that much better. Beautiful story. Beautiful boats. You've gained a fan for life here. Hopefully one day I'll be fortunate enough to own my own Freeman 42. Keep up the amazing work guys.
Great story, very similar to Bruce harris when he developed the Sharkcat in Queensland Australia in the 60s, the sharkcat took Australia by storm in the 70s as its capabilities were unbelievable.
What an awesome story Billy. I travel constantly for work the past 25+ years always in a new State and Hotel/Motel...I have seen and experienced your boats from the Mexican Gulf Charters in Louisiana last year/2017 and recently saw you on RUclips when you got scared of the eel they caught (I think it was Rob Arringtons' channel DeerMeatForDinner) anyways I am an active avid fisherman during my travels and noticing your boats being used by the 'Pros'. Keep up the great work - you are doing awesome. Blessings over you, your family, and friends.
Nice and awesome love the story and the boats GAME CHANGER wish i could afford the 29 to take my mom to the island in the Bahamas maybe one day keep up the great work freeman family
I certainly remember Billy's journey. I followed the build of the very first one on one of the (once great) boating forums. I would check out the build thread daily. If Billy is reading these posts I'm sure he recognizes my name.
I come from a few generations of boat builders, boats' philosophy is easy, be they displacement or planing hulls. Chose a speed, get the relation between the CG and the CP or CB on the hull correct, float it on a cushion of air/water and make the contours of bottom surface of hull such it damps oscillations very quickly through making the change of CP at speed such that if does not give a large correcting pitching and rolling error so as not to oscillate or porpoise the boat excessively, put enough power and just enjoy that combination.
Extraordinarily inspiring!! I was living on James island the same year you was building your dream! If I wasn't working or going to trident tech I was fishing. Some of the most awesome people in the world are from little ol' South Carolina! I hope the hurricanes turn more north this week and dwindle out in the ocean.
I fell in love with Cats back in the early 90s and the boat at that time was the 21' and 25' SeaCat's, for me the 3 biggest advantages and selling points were the 3 R's Ride, Range and Room!!! That 21 footer was like being on a 28-30 foot V-Hull and the 25 was like being on a 35 foot Plus V-Hull, my first test run was in the 21' SeaCat with twin 90hp Mercury's in 4'-6' seas. We were running a solid 35 mph and was Floating on top of those waves while passing and watching much bigger boats getting the shit pounded out of them, then we stopped and raised one of the motors and took off again and was still able to 30+ mph like it was nothing!! These days Cats are a lot better than they were at that time except now everyone wants to hang 400 hp Plus motors off the back and run 90 mph which ISN'T NECESSARY AT ALL AND DEFEATS TWO OF A CAT'S BIGGEST ADVANTAGE, UPFRONT COST AND COST OF OPERATION!! Unless you're a professional tournament fisherman you do not need to have $60K to $200K motors off your boat or the ability to run 70+ mph, sure it's cool and at times helpful to be able to do that but the truth is 35-45 mph on the open ocean is fast enough for 98% of fisherman. I'll take a Glacier Bay 260/2665 Canyon Runner with Twin 115-150 Honda's ANY DAY of the week over 95% of Catamarans offered these days and I'll catch just as many fish as those people with their 70 mph Cats and SAVE$$$$$$$$ doing so!!!
The first time I was ever on a freeman was when I was on a 42 with Hang Em High, and Clay was given 4 of the Suzuki 350’s before they were released, and I was one of the first to experience that. It was truly mind blowing that a catamaran could run 70 comfortably, loaded down and in a 5-6 foot chop in 20-25 mile an hour wind. I love what y’all are doing and I hope to have one someday!
Man Ive watched this video more than 100 times and still can’t be leave that billy sold two boats in 1 week and he is still moving forward and the 47T combing soon. I cant even picture that. I want a 34 and a 47 someday and I’m going to watch this video at least once a week to keep pushing and accomplish that
Great looking boat, living the American dream and taking care of family in the process, GREAT JOB! A turtle has to stick its neck out to get anywhere, the results look great and raising the bar for others to catch up helps everyone.
beautiful boat I thought I had a dream come true boat bought my little kids a john boat with a 9.9 mercury tiller took 2 years to save n someass stole it we had it less then 2 weeks broke their hearts man so hopefully one day I can get them another one they love fishing they only 12 year old and 9 year old its our dream come true one day
Fantastic design... I've just got into watching those haul over channels where boats of all shapes and sizes get beat the fuck up coming through that Miami inlet all except the Freeman design boats....Always a pleasure watching them master those rough waves... Awesome
So inspiring to watch this story. I'm a huge fan of this man and his vision. I'm dream of that day when I'll have the money to buy a 37 freeman build. The work that go in to the builds are awesome and shows the detail that is put in to them.
I’ve been on one In those same conditions, and it’s amazing how the boat will still do 70 while loaded down and ride like it’s on a small lake with no chop.

I love it, please sell in Japan. I love catamarans and I ride a Suncat 22, and although small does quite well in choppy offshore conditions in Sagami bay. But I’m looking for a bigger and faster center console catamaran that can take me even further for blue fin tuna. There is no boat like Freeman’s in the Japan market, so I think you guys will do well here!!
I fish out of Edisto and the premise that Billy Freeman built his company on, namely that he was tired of getting beaten up every time he went fishing, I can completely understand.
congrats on your success, maybe one day ill be running one of your boats. gonna have to figure out how to make alot more money first, but only time will tell
Such an amazing story and awesome video. I remember the first time I saw a Freeman at the Miami international boat show and my jaw dropped and fell in love what I love even more is since the freeman you now see all these other big name manufactures trying to compete in the catamaran game.

Been telling myself I’m gonna own one of these since I was 15, gonna keep doing so till there’s one in my backyard 🤜🏻
