Nice video, but the performance numbers and other information is either inaccurate or out of date. I'm sure the manufacturers would provide updated performance numbers for other outboard power configurations if asked instead of having to speculate.
I've had my Invincible for almost a year now rigged with quad mercury 450 R's. Mild seas(2-3ft swells) and it was like riding in a pond. Top speed was around 78mph with a little more throttle to go. Coming through the ICW in NC Outer Banks theres a stretch where you can really open it up and of course I did 😉 86mph with 7 people in board. I'm confident that I would match or outperform any freeman 42. But I've also had my Captains license since I was 20 😆
Your not outperforming the Goat. There’s a reason why invincible fell in line and tried to Replicate the freeman. Freeman is the absolute standard. The rest is trying to do pull ups to reach the bar
@@cwill114 each his own I guess. That's like comparing Ferrari and Lamborghini, certainly one came before the other but one is clearly the better automobile. But if it makes any difference I like both brands I just settled on the Invincible because of availability and pricing was the best for me
@@cwill114invincible is better- it’s cheaper, less heavy, turns on a dime, fast, invincible spent 2 years investing a lot to get better technology and they have the cut in the middle of the tunnel so it helps produce less belly flop- freeman doesn’t do that! I have been a charter captain for over 30 years and invincible is just better!
Both great boats.....The Invincible has a longer water line and they turn somewhat like a mono-hull vs neutral on the Freeman. Fit and finish is now very close, Freemans have improved. Id be proud to own either but to rich for me. I am a Calcutta Guy.
Thanks, both are awesome vessels. A buddy has a 34 Freeman and it is a blast to fish from. If I was going to go out tomorrow and purchase one I would likely be fishing out of the Invincible 40. If there was NEW one of each on a lot for sale I would have to flip a coin. Thanks for the review, helped confirm what I figured the pricing was.
I just saw both in person and for the Hard core dedicated fisherman Freeman is it . However the Invincible is more versatile and finished better . Much more family friendly . Both are Top Cats !!!!!!!!!!!
Freemans are relatively dip-prone at cruise (the bow). Watch a Freeman and an Invincible coming in Haulover in similar conditions, and you'll see what I mean. Invincibles are going to steer more consistently too, due to that. Invincibles and the big Prowlers could prove to be enduringly classic hulls, for places like the Corner... or, anywhere where you can get more of a ground-swell/wind-swell mix than South Carolina and the Gulf.
Bob H freeman buts all their eggs in the looks basket imo. I think between the 2 in this video invincible wins but, AmeraCat is the best unless you want bigger than 33. For now their biggest is 33
Great video. Both are incredible boats...asking to choose is like asking a parent who is their favorite child. With thr prices you mention, it makes me kinda chuckle at whatever they are smoking at mako..they are asking 679k for their 414 with quad mercury 350's For that price my poor old ass will be in either boat from this video!!
That’s only 2 years till production begins on your boat, it’s closer to 3 years to be completely honest. Invincible is currently switching hands between owners so I’m not sure on the detailed wait time, but from time the boat is sprayed in the mold till ready to go out the door, I’d assume 5-7 months.
Some corrections that need to be made to this video. The invincible now comes standard with an 800 gallon fuel capacity. It’s also a mid 80’s boat with quad 450’s. Lastly it’s cruise speed, like the freeman, is very broad. Anywhere from 30-60 and you’ll still be seeing very good efficiency numbers. You’ll be more than happy with either one honestly. However, if it was me, I’d get the invincible. Mostly due to it behaving more like a monohull in turns and less prone to bow steering and stuffing the bow on occasion.
Beautiful boats! Good review! I really like cats for their stability. I don't care about getting to the fish at 70mph. I care about stability, fishing ergonomics and fuel efficiency. I can't afford one anyway. Too expensive. although, all boats are outrageously priced right now.
Unless you charter/guide for a living, I can't imagine justifying $700k for a fishing boat when there are plenty of great center console options for 1/10th that price.

Fished on a Freeman out of Venice Louisiana in 3 to 4 ft seas , fished great but running could not use auto pilot because it pitched side to side so bad ( improper trim or something) anyone got explanation
Dude stop saying these boats go through 8 footers. Not even my friend charter viking 82 foot stays docked in 5 footers. You are promoting dangerous antidotes! Liable for lawsuits. Be careful
They definitely can take 8 footers.. they might have to be rolling them. But they for sure can take those waves.. that Viking laughs at 8 footers buddy... please educate yourself
@@gmogfx2632 Take a look at mirror buddy. It's clear you're one of those who always thinks 2ft chop is 8footers with 5sec spread. It's clear you dont hold Master Captain license with unlimited tonnage. No rightful Professional Captain would put his paying customers in these asinine conditions. Dont rebuttal with me at this point just because you're wrong. Learn from experience that's all.
A 8 foot swell has a 16 foot face on it and unless they are at 12 second or more intervals there aren’t many fishing boats that are going to be cruising in those seas. While a big cat hull may be ok in those seas no one is going to go fishing in those conditions and even big marlin tournaments that cater to big sportfishers will postpone or cancel with those sea conditions.
Your charter friend doesn't go out because he is responsible for his clients. Any viking can handle 5 footers no problem just not very comfortable or fun.

So why did you not just do a video on the Freeman...any body willing to wait two years for a boat had already have a boat, if not...well you are wasting fishing days, if you have to wait that long for a boat with out a bathroom something is really wrong with you.
Which boat would you rather have? Freeman or Invincible?
Life Offshore Freeman duh 80-86 with the 450’s say lessssss

Freeman
Freeman no question
People ask me all the time, what's the best boat to have ?
I always reply, the best boat is your friends boat.

Isn’t that the truth, well said

Def gonna have to say I’d take an invincible, because I don’t want to wait 2 years for a freeman
The Invincible 40 did 83 mph at the Miami boat show this year with 12 people and full fuel. That was rigged with quad 450's.
bull
I rode one with quad 450s this weekend with 3/4 tank of fuel , 5 people and it topped at 73 mph ! Still a blast !

Freeman all the way!!!
I’m new on your channel. Like it very much.
Great vid...Cheers
Awesome video bro 😎😎😎
Just go with a used Freeman that will come with a trailer and it’s already been sea tested. Best of all, you can try it before you buy it.
Do a vid like this with the sea hunter. 41cts
you should make a video about the IFC 35!!
AmeraCat all day for sure. Best Fishing catamaran by far is AmeraCat
⛵️🔥⛵️
Invincible or Freeman.. Don't matter. Both are big cats that slice through waves with a very similar design . Both are tall out the water and beautiful
Get on the Freeman list , buy the Invincible then sell it when you get the Freeman.
2 year waiting list? I'd probably shop around.
an original bruce harris shark cat from the 70s will do me just fine
Freeman!

Yeah i love how majority of all of us cant afford a Freeman.
Both of them lol. Maybe in 30 years when they're 80k
Both boats kick ass
If i want a boat and have $600k, why would I wait 2 yrs? Time is money and the freeman isn't worth 2yrs for same price!
two words, resale value
best believe i aint sainting 2 years
Invincible build quality is far above Freeman. Go look at them and you'll see for yourself. No joke.
This video has so much wrong information
Absolutely, I am guessing he has never been on either one except maybe at a boat show.
