We had a chance to jump on 15 OEM's testing out the New Mercury 350 and 400 Verado V10's! The way these engines push these larger boat is defiantly impressive! The low-end Torque puts you back in you seat even when you think it doesn't have anymore left. Let us know what you think about them down in the comments below.

That is my biggest gripe with these big Freeman cats. Out fishing all day and you have to piss over the side?
DAY-YUM!! One outboard motor and all its electronics and hardware is enough of a headache. I can't imagine maintaining/repairing FOUR of everything.
And to think some boats have SIX of those things hanging on the back. Talk about a nightmare !!

I wonder what sharrow propellers could do with this setup. Maybe 1.1mpg at about 3 knots more cruise speed?
Sharrow props and a foiling system similar to that on the Insetta 35ifc or the Aquila 36. Might add 4 or 5 knots to both cruise and top end, along with being slightly less thirsty.
Why would all motors not come with these propellers standard if the benefits are so great? Is it the cost or something?

If you REALLY gotta go offshore fishing, no matter the conditions, the Freeman is THE choice. If you fish only day runs, the Freeman is THE choice. If you want to go to the Bahamas or keys for a few days you'll need a hotel room. 47 feet of boat and no berth. Hmmmm. We all get it but sometimes i want to sleep ON MY boat. Just stating the obvious. .

@@michiganengineer8621 I didn't know that boat even existed. Definitely a better boat IMO, but it's for a different market. The people who like Freeman boats are the type of people who want a boat that is 100% designed for fishing with no sacrifices made for creature comforts.

Viking 52 for a sleep aboard. Full galley, fridge, showers, head. Large, comfy stateroom. Room to take 2 or 3 friends. And if the weather turns snotty, just lounge in the cabin. I'm too damned old to be playing "Old man and the Sea" and too poor to afford a top line cabin cruiser fishing machine.

40 mph in a boat is fast. Higher speeds on the water are very dangerous. You just cannot see debris in the water.

Pretty basic fishing boat for almost $2 Million dollars 💸. I could happily spend %10 of that on a used sport fish and be able to afford the fuel.

Quad 400hp v10 motors consume 500 l/h at WOT and the Freeman 47 has a 3750l fuel tank so 7.5 hours at WOT and you would have traveled 900km.
Looking at those numbers, that seems like an absurdly long time that the boat can run at WOT before running out of fuel.

Nobody uses a Freeman on a lake. Mercury is pretty serious about new product leaks, so if you are lucky enough to see it first, it will be on their private lake, regardless of the boat.
