No I would not redo the trade. I think our. Sabres are better off with Bowen Byram. Kevyn Adams needs to spend some of the cap and bring in some experienced forwards in the last year of a contract. Really spend towards the top of the cap. And look for forwards that will help our young players develop and bring a couple of young ones up, maybe Wahlberg and Kozak and let the players like Quinn and Cozens sit out some games and learn that if you don't perform you don't play even if you wear a letter. They need to really push and sacrifice to win games. I have been a fan since inception, my dad coached Jim Schoenfeld when he was in Midget in Cambridge (Galt) Ontario. He would go through a wall to win, and these guys need to look in the mirror. I am passionate about the Sabres and want to see the days of old when that Memorial Auditorium rocked when they played. Thanks for being real Joe.
What a train wreck last night! As soon as Clifton handed that puck on the wall to the Avs turning into Goal 1, I knew that lead would disintegrate. They knew it too as the Avs started moving their feet and Buffalo looked like they were in quicksand. No question anymore that they are unconditioned mentally and PHYSICALLY. Who is their trainer and nutritionist these days? Questionable based on their play!
They certainly miss Casey’s passing. Tage, Cozens, Peterka, Quinn, and Kulich are all shooters with no one to give them the puck. But Byram has been pretty good too. Adams just needs to improve the damn roster or step aside and let Pegula find someone who can.
To fill the void at center with the trade to Colorado they traded a prospect to Edmonton. So the Sabres traded Mitilstadt & a high end prospect for Byram & McLeod.
Avalanche fan here. The Byram/Middlestadt trade was good for both teams. We miss Bo, but with a top-line D pairing of Makar/Towes, Byram wouldn't have gotten the chance that he deserved in Colorado.
@ like to think Lindy would help him play a more all around game. Missing that constant threat to score these days. Love him hate him everyone produced that played with him though.
Back again, I would not give up on Cozens, hasn't been the same since his fight with Garnet Hathaway. I think his struggles are more mental than his abilities. But the Sabres should bring someone in to play the second line center and maybe throw Cozens on the wing.
When we traded Stadts last season I flipped my lid. So dumb. Too little too late. We needed that trade to come the year before when we were lighting up the scoreboard but couldn't stop a puck. But NOOOOooOOOOooo! We wait til Stadts is the leading scorer on a team with great netminding but issues scoring. Dumb! Why does this team seem to trade its talent right before they turn a corner in their career? All the development work we put into them and then we let them go.
No, wouldn’t undo the trade. I like Mittlestadt, just wasn’t a good fit. Got too comfy playing fortnight rooming with Dahlin. No upper strength, can’t win in the corners, couldn’t do a pull up at combine. I’ve never met someone that couldn’t do a single pull up
Thats bs. Skinner was absolutely horrible before we traded him, especially on defense. He was an absolute liability. Perhaps you werent watching last season?
I didn’t like the moves either. If you can trade Skinner, then, sure, but don’t buy him out. His dead cap will haunt the Sabres over the next two years. GMKA doesn’t care. He won’t be here anyways.
We miss MITTS because of Cozens and Quinn doing shit to help us. Mitts was so versatile for us.
I think a top 4 defenseman is more impactful and harder to find than a 2nd line center. I would not undo that deal.
Who is the second line center you are talking about?
Mittlestadt is 3C on a good team. Colorado is mid with him as the second guy
@ his game seems more suited to supplemental scoring than a shut down role to me. But any players role will vary a bit based on team need.
They replaced the offense of Victor Jeff & Casey with 4th liners
Buffalo has a bad habit of sticking with players through their growing pains and once they finally take the next step send them packing....
It’s ironic that Casey probably earned a long term contract more than anyone but was the one that was shipped out.

Seriously hes the last of your worries. Hes been one of the best players this year
I wouldn't undo it id switch the players. Id have traded cozens for Bryam now and moved mittlestat to second line center

Nope, if it were up to me I would have added a top 6 forward during the off-season.
To fill the void at center with the trade to Colorado they traded a prospect to Edmonton. So the Sabres traded Mitilstadt & a high end prospect for Byram & McLeod.
If anyone else knows the whereabouts of Matt Savoie please notify Edmonton 😂....
I am losing my religion in Kevin Adams after the REM trade.
Avalanche fan here. The Byram/Middlestadt trade was good for both teams. We miss Bo, but with a top-line D pairing of Makar/Towes, Byram wouldn't have gotten the chance that he deserved in Colorado.
No but I would have liked to see skinny play differently with Lindy’s as coach.
he's a bum he aint turning around that part of his game.
@ like to think Lindy would help him play a more all around game. Missing that constant threat to score these days. Love him hate him everyone produced that played with him though.
Make some trades now....what a disaster this Colorado Gane is!!!. Sabres collapse at its finest
Annunen isnt on COL anymore….
Back again, I would not give up on Cozens, hasn't been the same since his fight with Garnet Hathaway. I think his struggles are more mental than his abilities. But the Sabres should bring someone in to play the second line center and maybe throw Cozens on the wing.
You can’t either way now, no one’s taking that shitty contract, a dude who’s playing like a 2-3 mil dollar player at best getting paid 7 mil a year
Bigget collapse of the 2024 season so far. Well done sabres!

I like the trade for Bo Byram. Middlestadt is back to not scoring again for the Avs after starting hot.
yes, all day everyday, bo is amazing but our offense needs so much help.
I know it's not the best stat but -15 plus minus for Mitts, Yikes!
In a word, YES.
I’d rather undo Terry pegula owning the Sabres, he’s screwed them over for 13 years and doesn’t even feel like he gives one shit at all
If you kept mitts then Clifton would be on your top four defense. Let that sink in 😂😂😂
How about we trade power for a 2025 6th round pick
Yes. Buffalo’s defensive pairings make less sense with Byram. The Sabres have a hole in the Top 6 as well.
Gonna disagree Byram is your first line right defenseman. Without him you are either putting Clifton or Bryson on your first line defense?
Wedgewood got traded.
No, wouldn’t undo the trade. I like Mittlestadt, just wasn’t a good fit. Got too comfy playing fortnight rooming with Dahlin. No upper strength, can’t win in the corners, couldn’t do a pull up at combine. I’ve never met someone that couldn’t do a single pull up
Can’t win in the corners? That’s what he is good at. Lol. Passing and his work along the boards are his strengths.
You could have got that trade done and not traded Casey
I don’t think this is right. Colorado was looking for a 2nd line center.
Let's call Vancouver and see what the ask is for JT MILLER.
yes
Casey wouldn't....😊
no
in a heartbeat...
I definitely would undo that trade as well as not buying out Skinner out (both were STUPID moves)
Thats bs. Skinner was absolutely horrible before we traded him, especially on defense. He was an absolute liability. Perhaps you werent watching last season?

@@heftygainz how many goals did he score?🤔
