Ekholm is another name that stands out for defenceman. He’s had nights with the highest corsi on the team in the mid 40’s. His +/- is great I think. I keep hearing plus 80 something as an Oiler. I mean, he’s been hurt like 60% of his entire career. Look it up. He’s literally spent more time on IR than he has on ice throughout his entire career. Somehow Montreal thinks they got the good end of that trade because he scored a couple power-play goals. The reality is he scored a 40 goal season one time and hasn’t played a full season since. Lol 😂
Being hurt has nothing to do with being bad. Your argument is a logical fallacy. Columbus has had a losing mentality its entire existence and they cannot seem to shake it. Laine had 4 Head Coaches in Columbus during his 4 seasons there, that alone tells there was nothing but losing within the lockerroom.
I agree, tributes should be saved for players who have potential legendary status at the club when they retire. As an Avs fan it just felt weird getting a Juice tribute when he’s been a backup for 2 years
There have to be exceptions to that imo. Fleury in Vegas, for example, was only there for 4 seasons, but was (and still is) a fan favorite, he win a vezina, and was a big part of year 1.

It's very difficult to put a video together when you only have a few seconds of highlights. Everyone knows that the most important ability in sports is availability. Dude certainly lacks accountability.
I wasn't aware the highlights packages were being used so excessively. I thought Annunen looked kinda weirded out when he returned to Colorado a few weeks ago when they showed his.
Yeah, Laine likes Montreal now, but just wait. He's complained about both of his previous teams after the door's been closed behind him, and he will again, because he's that guy. This will go south for the Habs soon enough.
Idk it might be different this time. The Habs aren't asking him to do those ridiculous things Winnipeg and Columbus did, like play defense or pass the puck....
He’s only under contract till next year. Not sure there is time for it to get ugly. Montreal will either offer him a contract next year or trade him at the deadline.
There’s a reason Columbus gave away assets to offload him. He’s a one-dimensional player who’s always hurt and has quit on two franchises. It’s always someone else’s fault with poor little Laine
2:51 they did a video package for Kuemper in his first game back in DC and honestly.... Like....... Why? That was an export that just did not work. He was 1 for 1 traded out of the organization and he didn't do anything all that substantial while he was in DC. No offense to him, I actually have a lot of respect for him as a goalie, but..... That felt so unnecessary
I think Laine was talking about the culture that he played in. It was more about the organisation. And to be honest why else would they fire the coach and gm and bring in Waddell. Sometimes a team developed a losing mentality. Heck when Laine was hurt in Montreal just this year and Montreal was losing the bulk of those games, people were concerned that Montreal was developing a losing mentality. So I get what Laine was saying. Maybe he just shouldn't have said it.
The losing culture thing is absolutely real. Team's lose the ability to do (or know how to do) what it takes to win when you're in a situation like Columbus. It is a really hard thing to break free from. However, I agree with Werenski. Laine making those comments publicly is bullshit, especially given that he was part of that losing culture and was criticized for poor effort more than once in Columbus. This is not even to mention that Montreal (despite having lots of potential) is still spinning their wheels a little bit in terms of results, it's not like Laine went to a contender. There are multiple reasons why those comments are beyond tone deaf.
I think he was talking about the culture that he played in, and the organization, too - but then he was asked to clarify whether he was talking about the organization or about his teammates, and he said "use your imagination." How is any player still in that room supposed to read that? No, I believe he intended to have it be about the organization as a whole, but in actuality, he laid a lemon at their feet. A guy who played 174 out of 302 possible games complained about a losing culture on a team that didn't have him on the ice for 128 games over 4 seasons.
On the subject of making career retrospectives of Bruins players, in addition to Johnny Bucyk, it might be interesting to have one for Terry O' Reilly or Wayne Cashman? Just a thought... Merry Christmas to Shannon and all the viewers of this channel.
For the record, you did make a Johnny Bucyk career video. You did not make a Jean Ratelle video. You are right, it would be a fun Christmas video. I am looking forward to it.
I feel like Tampa used to be pretty picky when it came to videos but once the Cups happened anyone who was an alumni of either the 20 or 21 champs gets one.
Sid likely passes Mario this time last year. I don't think anyone thought he would still be a point per game player but had it not been for concussions, I think we would be looking at a 2000 point career.
Agree that a player did a short stint, 2 years or less, no video package is necessary. I believe it depends on what a player means to the city and team whether they should do a video package or not. Otherwise it just gets weird or not very memorable.
Tribute videos should be reserved for those who made something worth tributing. I'd say that would be having a prominent role in the team for at least 5 or so seasons or have done something like scoring a Stanley Cup winning OT goal. But it's the current year. Everyone needs to get a cookie so nobody's feelings are hurt.

Go Knights Go!!!
It was weird seeing video package for Annunen when he came to Colorado. He him self also seemed awkward watching it.
On the subject of making career retrospectives of Bruins players, in addition to Johnny Bucyk, it might be interesting to have one for Terry O' Reilly or Wayne Cashman? Just a thought... Merry Christmas to Shannon and all the viewers of this channel.
Can you do a career videos of 1 player in each club?
Merry Christmas everyone
For the record, you did make a Johnny Bucyk career video. You did not make a Jean Ratelle video. You are right, it would be a fun Christmas video. I am looking forward to it.
Johnny bucyk just casually holds so many bruins records
laine should get a welcome back video every time he comes to winnipeg. Stanley should get a I you you leave video before the game.
To be fair, if we had a fully healthy Mario, he would have gotten 2000.
@@Ben.Mangels a fully healthy Mario challenges 99 for the title of great one imo
Agree that a player did a short stint, 2 years or less, no video package is necessary. I believe it depends on what a player means to the city and team whether they should do a video package or not. Otherwise it just gets weird or not very memorable.
Yer a good guy Shannon.
I agree that video tributes should be more rare, but come on with the end of the comment. You sound like an old man yelling at clouds.
Where is the potato cat?! Merry Xmas!
