Which Sabre could win an NHL award this season?
I drafted Bowen Byram in my Fantasy league, but dropped him for Brent Burns after 10 games of underperforming. For the last couple weeks, I had been mulling over picking up Owen Power. Yesterday I felt confident enough based on his play and dropped Burns to make room.
West coast swings have killed this team sooooooooo many years, good to see success 💥
Joe! I really liked when you did the quarterly report cards. Bring it back!
Dahlin is producing way more points with Byram as a partner than when he has to cover for Joker😉
Bingo...move McLeod to 2C, Kulich to 3C and put Cozens on the wing. My god, how many times did Cozens get stripped of the puck in his own end, he's terrible. As for trading for a top 6 forward...if the Rangers trade Kreider, he is exactly what the Sabres need. It'll start with 25 1st for sure, Quinn and a top prospect.
Great trip! Team is 18:49 19:04 playing more like a mid tier team and Adams could really help the boys succeed by adding two Big D men that can really defend. Thinking Rangers, Montreal or Boston who are looking to move some D.
Stock will never be higher! TRADE TRADE TRADE!!!!
I wouldn't much Rather prefer to see Owen Power similar to Alex Ovechkin Blasting Slap shot from the blue lines on the PP unit and Owen powers also Blasting One timers the NHL is a Shot on net Type of hockey League the NHL fastly becoming high scoring not the hockey hitting of the 90s " the Objective Espically in Hockey not just score but Out Score the oppnet 🏒
Wow Joe... you said 5 of 6 and they got 6 of 6.... was impressive!
Now if owen no power Would use his size to check players, stand them up at the blue line and clear in front of the net. (wishful thinking I guess) That would make him a Better defensemen
seriously. he needs to add a streak to him.
Like the Bills
Sabres sneak out of Anaheim with a 3-2 OT win. Better than losing, but never a stress free moment with them
Stay out the box & good discipline will put you in position but won't get you the win so these steps need to begin. P.S (Did buffalo wear or have a white goathead blue & gold retro jersey)? I believe they did.🔥🔥🔥🔥💯
Teams throw alot of bodies in front of UPL but the Sabres have to move those bodies so UPL can at least see the shot, shooter,or play.
Parlay streak hits 41 straight loses.
Boy this team makes mediocre goalies look amazing lol So what was that about the Ducks being bad Joe?
The Sabres haven't earned the "sure-win" moniker yet. The Ducks have been playing well lately, and the Sabres often do not play well in Anaheim. The Sabres need to concentrate on one game at a time and not view any game as a sure thing.
no team in the league ever should look at a game as a "sure win". how many games a year do we win against top contending teams. I'm sure they look at us as "sure wins"
If the Ducks are a "bad team" at a .500 points percentage, and on a three-game win streak no-less, then what are the Sabres, who also have a .500 point percentage? Stinky Joe headline, Sneaky Joe.
Atrocious lol
First time seeing the Ducks this year. They're anything but bad. Speed, talent and grit while playing a pretty tight game. Sabres did good gutting another one out.
Sabres 19 pts, quacks 18. Little reality check here
Sabres are supposed to win a trap game? My money is on Anaheim. I’ve seen this story played out too many times in the last 13 years.
With UPL playing well, and needing to play a lot, is Levi an actual trade chip to get a blue chip forward?
On my way to the game, let's go Buffalo 🐃 😎
The Ducks are a bad team and the Sabres go above .500 if they win, so naturally (please let me be wrong) this is one they lose.
What does that say about the Sabres that THE DUCKS chose to play their backup against them...
I think they are improving rapidly. A lot of high draft picks up front that are starting to produce, or at least you can see their talent. On Defense, they have some realy REALLY young guys who are making mistakes, but it seems they are pairing the young guys all the time with a veteran who is at least 30 years old with tons of experience. Most importantly, Dostal is pretty good in net. He's done pretty well considering the quantity and quality of shots he has seen the past couple of seasons. They aren't GOOD, but I don't think they are a 'bad' team.
As Yoda and J.P. Losman once said, “There is no should, (try), only do.” 😂. Sorry, Sneaky Joe, until the Sabres qualify for the playoffs there are zero teams they should beat. Playoffs! Did I say playoffs? Actually I’ll be happy to watch Lindy motivate them to win three in a row.
@@WideTier that'll be our playoffs 😂
I understand you've the right on tour opinion BUT when you call out other teams "as bad", don't look @ the standings!😉 Sabres are just as "bad", right! Anyway, I've been a Sabre Fan since 1970 & the eye test, mostly says more than most of these modern statistics! If we always think/believe that "We are sooo good" - Just check out our opposition & their 3 to 5 last games! Sure, Sabres are 5-2 in their last 7 games, so with the right respect & attitude @ Ducks/ Sharks _ Games are there for the taken! #GoSabres
Coulda, shoulda, woulda,
@@AAA-o4g wonta lol
Lol it's still the Sabres so I expect them to struggle mightily (pun intended) 😂
So Gibson is starting and he's decent so that means the Sabres are going to make him look like a Vezna candidate 😂
@@TheDarthmalstrom Dostal is the better goalie so they got off easy
@chrismdb5686 we will see now won't we?
@@TheDarthmalstrom Not saying it'll be an easy win or anything, but it'll certainly be easier playing the guy that's essentially the backup rather than a Vezina candidate. Heck, if Hellebuyck was out this season I think Dostal could win easily this year.
@chrismdb5686 Yea well this team has a habit of making backups looks like starters.....
Sabres lose to all of the bad teams.
@jamesmiller6217 Wouldn't that make the Sabres the doormats of the NHL?
@ no, because we beat the Panthers, Stars and Rangers.
Oh man... every single time this show calls another team "bad" and "beatable" it comes back to bite us.
I think that is just the Sabres
@@dag6 Well we somehow managed to win. Should have never even been a team that took OT to beat though. At least we are now over .500 so HOPEFULLY that monkey is off their back and they can keep it going. The potential for this team to be great is there, that's what is so frustrating. We are now in WC2... can't give it up.
I don't think money was ever an issue in the Pegula era.. he was willing to pay Ville Leino as a high-price UFA at the time.. they signed Ehrhoff to a 10-year, $40 Mil contract which was massive at the time; they've made players like O'Reilly, Eichel, Skinner, Dahlin among the highest paid players in the league. The problem goes beyond something that we are privy to.. The best UFA's do not want to come to Buffalo. We are usually mentioned, when highly sought after UFA's are available. Even going back to Brad Richards in 2010? when he was courted by Buf, and ended up signing with NYR... Tavares was coveted by us, and ended up going to the Leafs... Stamkos was rumored to be a Sabre UFA target a few years ago, but ended up going back to Tampa.. even Mike Babcock visited Buffalo when he was deciding where he would coach after leaving the Wings - -and Babs ended up in Toronto. I don't know if it's team culture, a meddling owner, Buffalo not being a major city, little chance of winning a Cup...whatever the reason or reasons, Buffalo is not a desirable location for any superstar UFA. We're going to have to somehow start making the playoffs, and winning rounds consistently, before any difference making UFA's will actually want to come here.
Great team effort, it felt like in the end the team realy fought for UPL SO! Not the most excited game but it showed we can shut down a game! A 1-0 victory against a “ better team’ is just a great achievment!
UPL’s career so far reminds me a bit of Ryan Miller’s early career. Big variations in performance/results but starting to get the improved performance in a more consistent manner.
It is nice to see a win, however, they better not lose to the shittttty Ducks and Sharks. They need to win three in a row to show us they are a team turning the page. End of discussion.
Let’s see if they “have it” enough to win two lousy games in a row, shall we?
UPL is a legit #1 goalie in my opinion and this is coming from someone who almost gave up on him two years ago. It used to be that every time I saw him named starter. I thought welp, the Sabres need to score 4 or 5 tonight to have a chance. Now it's literally the exact opposite. His development last season was no fluke. He has improved drastically in reading the play and getting to the right position and it seems like his lateral movement has improved significantly over the last couple years. Happy for the guy and wonder where the Sabres would be without him.
There was a good stretch where he let in 3. No more, no less. So at least he was consistent.
Holy typos, my fault, think I edited them all.
Big fan from Wisconsin here. Does anyone have any suggestions for other daily sabres content besides this show?
Haven't found anything good, although THG (The Hockey Guy) does daily NHL stuff that covers all 32 teams.
Will check it out. Thank you for the recommendation
Try the channel Roam Hockey. It is specifically for the Sabres.
Sabres Live with Marty and Duff on WGR550 (Buffalo radio, noon-1 weekdays you can listen free with the Audacy app) and MSG. Need a cable sub or MSG+ to watch the show and not just the occasional 10 min clips on the Sabres channel. Pretty dumb they don't just post the full eps on RUclips. Expected Buffalo After the Whistle with Peters and Rivet
Sabre report is good !!
UPL + Powerplay have figured it out. Dude it's one game, way too soon to say that SMH
UPL has been solid the last 4-5 starts or so idk why they put him in against MTL when he was ill, and the powerplay is like 30% then last stretch of games or so it’s getting there for sure
Stop with the Levi in the future talk. He’s has proved nothing. Not even sure he’ll ever be a good nhl goalie. He’s under sized and needs a lot of work. UPL has shown to be the guy. I know goalies take time but I would even consider trading Levi in a package to get a Top 6 forward while the league still thinks Levi is worth anything… UPL is thee guy and unless he gets hurt he’ll be good in net for us for the next 10 years
Nice win. Joe predicted that we'd need a low scoring, 2-1 game to pull this one out. 1-0 is close enough. Good call!
He picked the Kings to win by at least 2 goals. His predictions are always wrong. He's lost his last 30+ parlays.
this aged well
East wild card wide open. Next quacks.
They will win the entire west road trip. Then disappoint at home
Well, that was unexpected. Nice win! Maybe they will get 5 of 6.... STTT!
A wins a win and onward we go. Great shutout. Zucker and <Mcloed have been welcomed additions.
And don’t forget that block by Beck! He’s always working hard out there
Better than okposo and skinner ever where as on both sides of the puck
You said they would win 2 to 1. How about 1 nothing? Sounds good to me. They played playoff hockey last night.
Well we won 😂 UPL played his ass off
You should always bet against the Sabres, good teams find a way to win and that’s what we might be, stop being negative that theyll lose games
Last three games i bet the sabres
Enough of the text messages, we get it already.
