Mexico City is so underrated. Part of the reason(s):Ignorance and Hollywood which typically portray Mexico as a dusty and bloody town when in reality the City is full of nature, diversity, great architecture (ancient, colonial and modern) and LOTS of history with people from all over the world. It goes toe to toe against any other modern or European city and it has more to offer than most of them. It is a gigantic metropolis that seems to be getting more and more attention, this time, for better reasons. Mexico City is a Country within a country, an economic powerhouse and cannot be dismissed.
I want it to be dismissed though. Do you really want Mexico City full of Americans like in Cancun? Making everything shitty with their preferences for McDonald’s/Shitty food/drunk college students puking on the streets? Not to mention that all they do out there is bring crime and drug consumption? And then the cartels get more violent cause they’re trying to get their money? Fuck that. I don’t mind other foreigners coming to Mexico City, but Americans have ruined a lot of cities in Mexico.
I've been living in Mexico City for the past 7 years now, and nothing bad has ever happened to me or to the people I know. Obviously, you have to be cautious like you would be in any big city, but overall, I feel very safe here. Besides that, Mexico City is a great place to visit and it has a lot to offer. It doesn't matter if you're looking for great food, awesome entertainment, really interesting historical sites, fantastic architecture, cultural events, an exciting nightlife scene or friendly and welcoming people, this is the place.
@@SPKLifeStyle2.0 Condesa and Roma Norte are probably the two most interesting neighborhoods in the city if you're looking for a cool city vibe, an artistic scene, great restaurants and cafes, and an urban classy feeling. Mexico is a city of fantasy. Even when Europeans come to Mexico. They are impressed by the historical, artistic and multicultural. Love Mexico City. We stayed for a month, and were not ready to leave. That park you showed was one of pur favorite places to visit. While you were walking through and talking about the pepitas, I had to laugh at the background noise (it is a local pick up company that goes throughout Mexico City picking up oversized items and you will hear that broadcast many times each day). Never thought it would be something that I missed about Mexico City, but listening to it made me smile!
I'd definitely love to travel to Mexico. My Mexican friends tell me about the rich history, culture, and cuisine. I've also heard that the landscape is stunning.

Thank you!
Hii I lived in Mexico City for 2 years. Don’t let the bad stuff hold you back. If you go the places like La Condesa, Roma Norte, Coyoacán you’ll be fine! Tourist guides will usually tell you where not to go

Churros are legit the best treats ever! There used to be a stand near my work and I'd go have a cheeky snack every now and then. 😋 Also, those areas you went to looked so pretty. Reminded me of some of the street art you see in Melbourne :)
Not really that part. This is Roma Norte, and the film is located in Roma Sur which is actually rather different, Roma Norte is a bit older, eclectic and touristy whereas Roma Sur is mostly just residential. They don’t show much of the borough on the film anyway, it’s definitely good though.

My uncle has done business in Mexico City for years. He has sold his business but still goes to visit. Yes. Every country has some dangerous places. My uncle is fluent in Spanish and being Italian he browns easily and blends in well. He loves to visit there but you definitely need to understand not to just take off to parts unknown. There are many parts of Mexico he would never go. He said he would stick out like a sore thumb and it wouldn’t take long for you to get in trouble. So just like anywhere else you really need to know where you’re going. It sounds like you did a lot of pre-planning. Excellent video
So funny.....at 10:03 you start to hear the truck passing by who buys trash hanging around your house...what makes it funny is that here in the city of Oaxaca, the exact same tape blares as it passes the streets....I had no idea this was a syndicated thing.....funny...

I came to Mexico city after very little research. I started out in Historic center, then El Choppo and Guerrero Before finding an apartment in Ecatepec. Point being that these are some of the worst places you could choose going by safety. And after walking all over the place including alone and at night, for months, i still haven't had any problems. Once when i was walking with a Venezuelan man, we did get stopped by some officers who where looking for something, but we just had to talk a little and show we didn't have anything illegal.

Once were were told the story about the little girl we kept hearing it EVERYWHERE haha
I know for sure this couple is going to fall in love with Mexico and return for a longer period for 9 months. And later eventually will move to Mexico :)
I love how the USA gives a negative view of Mexico to keep the tourists out!
Es una cuestion de dinero y control. Tambien nos venden una imagen negativa del pueblo mexicano...y pese a ello hay mas de 1 MILLION de estadounidenses viviendo en Mexico. Los numeros hablan por si solos :) :) :)
@Renata Lemus Yes, that means fewer gringos, if they find out what they are missing out on, then we would have a lot of immigrants from the US.
Envidia
They're Australian by the way, not from the US. I struggle to see the relevance of your comment.
Nope - from New Zealand 🇳🇿 😂
I adore Mexico City! I lived there for 6 mos in 2018-2019 and am trying to figure out how to move there permanently. Luckily, I live in LA and am just a 3 hr 45 min flight ✈️ away! Will be there again next week 😁 Highly recommend you visit!!
Me llevas contigo next time you travel to Mexico City? i live in San Diego CA, we are City Neighbors.
Mexico City is awesome!!!💙 All the lush vegetation is what really surprised me!
Never thought it would be something that I missed about Mexico City, but listening to it made me smile!
me, a mexican living in mexico watching this video just because i want to hear what y'all think and like about mexico city
@@RoMan-oi5qv sí
I'd definitely love to travel to Mexico. My Mexican friends tell me about the rich history, culture, and cuisine. I've also heard that the landscape is stunning.
Great video! The churros in CDMX were so tasty! I just got back from Mexico City a few months ago and loved it.
Truly unhealthy the amount of sugar in the churros!
Wow, I'm loving the look of Mexico City! The trees and greenery remind me a lot of Kolkata which has very similar vegetation growing everywhere - I really like it. You have a great Stacey reaction at 6:58 :)
Nice to hear India has the same kind of feeling in places! Theres such a nice balance when a city is combined with green
Unfortunately, almost anywhere you go in Mexico, only the rich neighborhoods have trees and parks.
@@Nadamedetendra24
That's not true... Trees are all over the neighborhoods...
@@juankmaney6872 you've only been in la Roma and la Condesa right?? Lol Where I live all the pretty tree filled parks are in the wealthy side of the city. 🙄
@@Nadamedetendra24
Hola Algotedetiene24...
What a wonderful place and such welcoming people. Thank you for bringing this place to life!
It was such a lovely stay!
Don't be afraid to visit México. I'm sure that you won't regret to do it. Mexico has many different and original places to enjoy it. If you decide to visit it, you will be welcome.
Lovely video guys! Love how this video gives such positive vibes. Looks like a fun city to visit one day!
Theres something special about a place massively exceeding all expectations!
We are free of Karen's
omg mexico is so so high on my bucket list!!! and cuba
It deserves to be! Such a cool and varied country
I just get back from Mexico vacations for a second time, two years in a row, it´s that good!
Going this week! Can't wait, love the energy and atmosphere in Mexico City!
Paul C how was it? Did you enjoy MÉXICO City?
@@yunssss loved it! I already purchased my flight ticket to come back next month! 🇲🇽👍👍
Paul C 🙌🏽 wow!
@@yunssss this time I will explore different areas in Mexico, Guanajuato, San Miguel De Allende maybe Acapulco as well....
Looks wonderful.I love parks a great place people come together. The food is quite amazing as well.
Thanks for sharing about the free tour! Love that there’s an English option too 😊
You’re welcome 😊
Go visit the Plaza Rio de Janeiro, you'll get mesmerized by the early 20th century homes around it plus the plaza itself and a magnificent church. I lived close by in my childhood. Incredibly one of my pastimes was walking around all over the city as if I was a tourist. Hi from Texas.
Ooh, it looks absolutely lovely there! Yet another place to add to my list, lol. It’s great to see a focus on a neighbourhood - I think often when we travel we feel like we need to see all the tourist attractions and rush about to fit everything in, but just taking the time to explore a particular area and mooch about and really ‘look’...you guys remind me of this in every vlog. Thank you!
Thats such an amazing point, Jenny! We agree, its easy to think you gotta tick off as much as possible in one day
The Best churros in Mexico City are at El Moro in La Condesa! Always lines of people waiting to buy!
Oh thanks for the tip!
Wow. I never thought of Mexico city like this, I heard the bad stuff. Great video.
Exactly! Such an awesome surprise
Hii I lived in Mexico City for 2 years. Don’t let the bad stuff hold you back. If you go the places like La Condesa, Roma Norte, Coyoacán you’ll be fine! Tourist guides will usually tell you where not to go
MEDIA HAS NOTHING POSITIVE TO SAY ABOUT ANYTHING
@Ruth Pam no actually I can think for myself thanks. It's from first hand reports from when my family was there.
Because you're ignorant and biased probably.
We’ll be going to Mexico in February and watching your video made us even more excited about our trip. Mexico City is so beautiful! We really enjoyed your video!
That's SO exciting! We're super jealous, would love to be back in Mexico. We miss the food so much. Enjoy your trip!
Hi from Chicago, great video 👍🏻 Mexico City has a lot too explorer enjoy
Lovely video you guys! 💕🤩. I’m from Mexico City, born and raised, and the way you captured it is lovely! It’s so great to see the city through your eyes and read the lovely comments from others, it makes me look at it with more excitement and also appreciate some things that I usually take for granted. I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed your time in the city!
Aww thanks Andrea! This comment made our day, thanks for your kind words that makes us so proud to hear ❤️
México City Is INCREDIBEL.
Churros are legit the best treats ever! There used to be a stand near my work and I'd go have a cheeky snack every now and then. 😋 Also, those areas you went to looked so pretty. Reminded me of some of the street art you see in Melbourne :)
Very Melbourne like actually, some great laneways and delicious coffee. Mmmm we need to get back to Melbs!
There is a great movie called "Roma" based in that part of Mexico city, you should watch it ;)
The movie is not so great but is ok... Better than the last movies my country use to do
Not really that part. This is Roma Norte, and the film is located in Roma Sur which is actually rather different, Roma Norte is a bit older, eclectic and touristy whereas Roma Sur is mostly just residential.
They don’t show much of the borough on the film anyway, it’s definitely good though.
@@samcreel i never been there, i just stated to them that there is a movie about part of the city. gee... why people like to dramatize so much? duh...
Dan_Gameplay the story for the movie was ok, but the picture and how everything was captured was beautiful.
@@georgecaldwell1092 You have to watch it on fast forward so you don't fall asleep and then at the end you ask yourself "What was that even about?'. :-)
This was brilliant thanks for the high quality tour! Would love prices or things you came back to explore in more detail
Thank you! We typically try share prices but on a tour like this a lot of the stuff is covered so you don't really know
Awesome vid
u guys are so Lovely
Dont be Scared of the rest of mexico au contraire yo need to be sure of yourself and you'll be fine, in Mexico theres everything of everything , good and weird but balanced
the prove is in the tons of videos of travelers covering the rest of the places
Love Mexico City even tho i've never been. Just subscribed! cheers from Las Vegas Nv.
Those dogs looked so cute!!! City dogs are always so well trained, mine are just some little freaking rascals running all over the place
In Roma Norte right now. It’s beautiful. Took an Uber to the Zocalo and walked around down there as well. Friendly people. Great food.
This Roma Norte area reminds me a bit of Paris with the cafe culture. Will definitely come back. On my way to Oaxaca in a few days
Hope you're having an amazing time! We wish we got to Oaxaca 😍 Happy travels!
It looks really cool ❤️❤️❤️🇲🇽
Such a nice and magical city, I just love it! even traveling in the subway, the metro, is great, not so much during rush hour though haha.
We didn't take the metro, shame! We need to come back for longer next time
@@DanegerAndStacey that's one of the things i do every time I get to CDMX, there's so many great things to do around Mexico city thought, glad you guys enjoyed your time there 😃. Really enjoyed your video is always nice to see people visiting and reacting for the first time about that lovely big city.
I was in Mexico City and its an incredible city, I love it. I will come back in janaury!!
Great vid thx!
Next time visit Colonia del Valle and Insurgentes Avenue and the areas surrounding the avenue it's beautiful.
So funny.....at 10:03 you start to hear the truck passing by who buys trash hanging around your house...what makes it funny is that here in the city of Oaxaca, the exact same tape blares as it passes the streets....I had no idea this was a syndicated thing.....funny...
No way! We've heard so many stories from people hearing this same thing all around town haha
@@DanegerAndStacey Yeah, it's true...the exact same annoying tape, played at the highest level so you can hear them blocks away. But in reality I think they cranked up the volume so high that we can hear it bouncing off the walls of La Condesa!
I’m walking around aimlessly in Roma and searched your video to relate to someone. I think I may go to that cafe.
I just came back from Mexico City and I want to comeback as soon as possible, I love that City
We want to go back too! Sounds like you had a great time, hope you get to visit again soon!
10:00 the sound in the background lets you know you are in Mexico City, "se compra colchones, tambores, refrigeradores , estufas, lavadoras o fierro viejo que venda" oh what a colorful sound! jajaja. Great video guys!
I have been in a few Mexican cites touring by motorcycle including CDMX which seemed like many others (enchanting, romantic, and grand in numerous ways) but CDMX much larger. Viva Mexico!
America es Grande por que, no todos pero la mayoría de países lo hacen grande. Vivan nuestros países Americanos.
Woo hooo I am doing mexico city now...and you helped me so much with thailand....stayed at Chiang mai prestige because of you guys.... did cabo in november and 3 months in colombia....doing 2 months in mexico next.
Mexico City is a magical place. I lived there 28 years in polanco and now I am living in the US and, I miss completely all the stuffs
Polanco is a super rich neighborhood. Did you really live there?
There was a guy playing either Dave Brubeck or Coltrane at 8:00. Pretty damn badass! I'm shocked no one mentioned it yet!
Hope you keep enjoying and exploring!!
We will, thanks!
Excellent video (of my favorite city) and great production quality. What type of camera are you using?
You two never disappoint...great vlog.

Awesome! Thank you!
Hay guys your life is very enviable. I am so jealous but I've seen the bad travel days. And I know how much work is Involved.I really enjoy watching this channel.
Cheers Alan - balancing the amazing with the not so bad 😀
In la condesa you can eat daily in a different place and not finish in 50 years.
Happily, the neighborhood has enjoyed a recent renaissance-locals love Roma's combination of art deco mansions, colorful street art, and, of course, the neighborhood's hipster vibe. Most of Mexico City is safe, and Roma is considered one of the safest neighborhoods in town.
We loved our time there 😊
Great video! New subscriber here, greetings from Puebla, Mexico. You should come and make videos here, the city is beautiful and we have one of the best exquisite cuisine of Mexico love Mexico City tho 🇳🇿💞🇲🇽
