- The Egyptian Gods - Egyptian Mythology has the most interesting Gods of the ancient world, including Ra, Amun, Osiris, Isis, Horus, Seth, Anubis, Thoth, Ptah, Sekhmet, Bastet, Hathor and Neith. Starting with the creation of the world, we will witness the birth of the Gods and their epic power struggle to become the Pharaoh of Egypt. At the beginning of time, there was only Nu, the primeval waters of chaos. Then, in a great flood, the sun god Atum rose from the water and willed himself into creation. Atum then created Air, a son he named Shu, and moisture, a daughter he named Tefnut. They were the first divine pair and soon had children of their own, the Earth named Geb, and the Sky called Nut. This second divine pair then had four children of their own, Osiris, Isis, Seth and Nephthys, completing the group of nine primeval Gods known as the Ennead, consisting of Atum and his eight descendants.

Everyone forgets Cleopatra married both of her brothers before Caesar. It was considered perfectly normal in ancient culture. And even in more modern times it is not unusual for monarchs to be related to their partner. Just as Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip are third cousins sharing a Great Great Grandmother Queen Victoria; who was herself married to her own first cousin Albert :)

I was reading the book of the dead and I saw a page where the measuring tool used to measure the hearts and feather was present and Anubis and some guy with a bird head- possibly Horus, were small compared to the other people around them. Took me awhile to realize it was because Anubis and Horus (maybe Horus) as children and they were _adorable-_

@Drip Side You probably never read the bible so let me educate you. In Christian theology god created the world. Humans were meant to be eternal unless they defied god. Adam and Eve (the first sinners) defied god, and that counted for the whole world. Due to sin, evil rose and immortality was not a thing in Earth. Heaven and Hell is pretty obvious, but it's mixed with good and bad. Which is a lie, it's about committing sin and if the person has repented or not, which means to ask god for forgiveness, then you can go to heaven. Diseases, murder, and etc are all caused by sin. Satan is a symbolic figure of a corrupted evil spirit. God wants the trust of an individual to enter heaven. God sometimes even takes people to die, to enter his home of heaven. Your problem is that you think god is a happy go-lucky god, so you ask yourself if god is good and joyful "why is there death and bad things?" The thing is god, is not only a god of kindness and love, he also contains wrath and disappointment to those who defy him. Jesus, who is a spirit, son of god, was born into this world to stop sin, or make somewhat a change. Which sort of worked but Jesus was ordered to be killed by those of the ancients. Hopefully this gives you a somewhat more understanding to Christian ideology.

As someone who’s been studying Egyptian history and culture for 10 years I can verify that what he tells you is 100% accurate information however this is one theology out of many of how the Egyptian would came into being for instance the theban theology centers around the ogdoad in the beginning of time instead of Atum aka one of the 72 forms of Ra. Also work on some of your pronunciation of the gods names like Atum, Ma’at but other then that you did a great job congrats!!!!!

The Greeks living in Alexandria found a fascination with the Egyptian goddess Isis and over time her worship spread into Rome especially after the roman occupation that’s why Isis an Egyptian goddess is associated with some of the Greek goddesses . Isis is 100% of Egyptian origin.

Sutekh is my favourite actually. Often,the Canopic jar that looks like Anpu (Anubis) is in fact not Anpu, not even a Jackie but a dog named Duamutef, which means, “He who loves his mother. Though it is true that originally conopic jars had various lids (including Anpu’s image). Originally some believe that the jars had either normal looking lids, lids pertaining the the dead’s patron or matron deity in life, or just lids depicting people’s heads which symbolized the dead themselves.

The fact that so many common themes exist in afterlife and gods with human history in EVERY location on earth just shows that something greater is going on. How can almost all religions have the same common themes throughout history without there being SOME sort of truth behind it. Even if its all different than what history says, we cannot deny there is SOMETHING.
Look at all the contradictions in history, all the removing of truth to change the projection "timeline" by manipulating the energy to be in a loop.
Islam kinda answers that as it had been said that messengers have been to every corner of the earth so what probably happened is that the religion got changed and diluted overtime in many different places resulting in many cultures being similar yet different at the same time.

Numbers in base-10 are the basis of the Egyptian ennead.

0 is Nun
1 is Atum / Ra
2 Shu, 3 Tefnut,
4 Geb, 5 Nut,
6 Osiris, 7 Isis ,
[8] Seth, 9 Nephthys
10 is Horus (the renewal or return of Ra, the digit for 1)
The digit for 8 (the hidden god ) is not expressed.
Seth (chaos,, confusion, disorder) occurs in that position because the digit is not [expressed].
Amun is "the hidden one" but other gods also occur in that position that is concealed from being (seen or known?).
So, Amun is the digit 8 and Ra is 1 such that Amun-Ra is 81 (the basis to express the ennead/digits).
[In other myth, Seth rides with Ra on the night barque through the underworld (a metaphor for 1/81). Seth is 8, Ra is 1, as 81 under 1.]
Ra (the number 1) arises from Nun (0, nullity).
Ra is self-created like the number one arises after zero.
Then, Ra creates all subsequent deities (non-zero numbers) in similar sense that the number 1 can create any number as for example [1+1+1 = 3].
Further, observe that the digits 2 to 9 are related to the four paired deities.
This structure of four pairs is the structure of the Ogdoad (because the Ogdoad is a referential subset of the Ennead although different gods are named within the Ogdoad).
This note is simplified here but I think it sufficiently shows the relationships.
The myths use mystical language as metaphor to encode information.
The myths are are not really about magic.
