- Okay okay, maybe not the Best Mazda ever but it's likely the best Mazda SUV ever. With this powerful 3.3L Turbocharged inline 6, it makes 340hp and 369lb-ft more than enough grunt to pass every other competitor. Seating for up to 8, and a luscious interior rounds everything out perfectly.

I love how your review highlights how 95% of the people will use their 2nd and 3rd row. They will adjust the 2nd row to make room for people in the back while having more than enough legroom. If people hates compromising 2nd row space, just buy a minivan or a full sized SUV like an Escalade!
Exactly! Thank you for noticing and watching.
Love the way you reviewed this vehicle. The style that you used is very different than others. Appreciate the discussion on the third row and the versatility. I appreciate the color discussion about wearing jeans on white interior. Great review one of the best I have watched and I have seen alot of reviews as we are car shopping.
Thank you!
Great review and someone that understands what Mazda is trying to do.
Nice video
Thank you!
Hi Jimmy any insight on whether customers should wait for IIHS test results especially the updated moderate overlap front test since you're a child safety technician? Really enjoying your reviews keep it up.
Thank you! I have quite a bit of trust in Automakers in designing vehicles with safety in mind. So it should be okay.
Jimmy you really get it .
1 to 2 shift is electric assist motor helping in the city start ups ...hope they can make it smoother .
Great review!
Thank you!
Love Mazda
I Agree with you about cx70 ...The same with me here
I have put a deposit on a CX-90 PHEV, my dealer tells my I am next on the list to receive a production number so hopefully not too long now. . Like you the 3rd isn't entirely necessary but it's there for the occasional times I need it. From what I hear the upcoming CX-70 will have the same dimensions as the CX-90 so there's not much difference that way. I figure in my case the 3rd row will be folded 90% of the time but unlike the CX-70, at least I have the option.
Yea that makes total sense. I want to wait and see what's they're going to do.
12:17... The CX-90 in line 6 is not a PHEV....Its a mild hybrid...The PHEV is an inline 4.😉
Yup! I’m fully aware of that. I might have said that by accident…
@@JimmyMak The "PHEV" designation was in the text where you show the HP differences between the standard 6 and the high output 6. I actually stopped the video at that point and looked twice to make sure that's what I was seeing. I assumed it was a typo and moved on. It happens 😁
@@ddavidson5 thank you! I haven’t been getting much sleep lately and a lot has been falling through the cracks.
Just reviewed the car nut guys review. I won't touch this with a 10 foot pole.
Glad you mentioned it. Anyone thinking of buying one of these should listen to the Car Care Nuts review of this vehicle before pulling the trigger.
Yes looks like they took European car path here. More complex engineering and great performance. Great car for leasing. But if you lease it anyway, why don’t lease European car instead.
Isn't he a Toyota guy?
His main gripe is that the timing chain is located on the back of the motor which means you have to pull the motor to service the chain or repair a leak, just like my Toyota 3.5 V6 which needs to be pulled to service the chain or repair a leak. I don't see any difference here.
I like the style. It is a style without weird curves, wedges, grill shapes etc., and just gives a lovely shape. I have a Mazda 3 and the only thing that annoys me is that with the auto locking as you walk around the car, the driver door locks and you have to unlock the front passenger door so that if you are doing interior work like cleaning the windscreen or the carpet constantly having to unlock is a pain.
If it’s an issue you can turn that off within the settings in the mean time.
It's a bloated whale😂
Gear 1 to gear 2 shift jerk: is there any effect of I-stop feature on this. Will shutting off the I-stop feature improves that shifter problem
Not that I found, since the powertrain doesn't have a torque converter it may be a bit jerky.
Honestly, it's not a huge deal. It's just that other shifts are sooooooo smooth it makes that 1-2 shift feel rougher.
I like this vehicle. In the US the premium plus (the lower output Turbo) with most of the features I like sells for around $47,500 (plus tax). I like the compact spare tire and the smaller moonroof. I would likely never use the 3rd row seats.
I agree for us the 3rd row is good to have on that occasion where we need to carry a few more people . 99% of the time they will be folded flat and making use of the extra cargo space in the rear
You are referring to the Preferred Plus trim. The Premium Plus is $48,900 plus freight but still a deal.
@@Kstxrd you are correct
Your English is easy to hear. Thank you.
Doesn’t the i drive where it shuts off our wear and tear on the train?
That should be engineered within the powertrain so it shouldn't matter.
Is every car reviewer from Canada?? 😂
haha, there's a lot of us
still like my cx9.....no need to upgrade
Cx9 is way better. Cx90 is so terrible to exchange parts in engine = expensive repair in future
While it's a very attractive model, I can't get past the price.
Considering the new Pilot is the same cost, it’s about right for vehicles in 2024.
@@JimmyMak Here in Quebec, the Pilot ( top trim ) runs about $1400 less.
Though I have owned a few Mazda's and like them, I'd go with the Honda's reliability !
Nissan's Pathfinder & Toyota's Highlander run about $61,000 here
which puts them about $4,000 less expensive.
@@MyMeade12 agreed but if u look at the features comparison then Mazda cx90 GT will be comparable to Honda Pilot touring. The decision is mainly on practicality of pilot vs fun of cx90.
@@MyMeade12 honda's reliability is behind mazda's. mazda has ranked in the top 1-3 over the last 4 years. honda has dropped considerably. I choose mazda for reliability.
Mazda has inline 6 engine AWD and rear wheel drive. your argument on why you would by honda over mazda falls flat on its face.
@@MyMeade12all the mainstream 3 rows are all in the same price range considering Mazda offer more its a win also you do know Mazda is more reliable than Honda for the past few years
base model has 19’s, not 18’s man. its the most expensive mazda so it better be the best mazda ever 😂
Here in Canada the base wheels are 18", you can get 18" 19" or 21"

They ruined the headlights in the new models. 2017-18 had the best front ends
Well since mazda came with the thin slick headlight design everyone else ran with it so mazda decide to switch it up and thats what i love about them, they doesnt stick with the crowd doing the same things. Also i suggest seeing it in person before passing judgement because its actually great looking
So-called best Mazda still has too long nose and cramp 3-rd row.
this video is very very bat
This vehicle will be problematic in the near future to many things to go wrong
Dude, the inline 6 it's NOT a plug in hybrid; it's just a mild hybrid; the plug in hybrid has a 2.5, 4 cylinder engine
Yup we’ll aware, already mentioned in the comments below. It’s a typo when I typed up the text.
Just watched a channel that the fellow is a mechanic and he told a different story. He was more into the technical things like how this engine is a very difficult engine to work on. If one should buy this and keep it be mindful this engine needs to be pulled out for some repairs that might happen in the course of owning it. He had this car on a lift and you could see everything on this car and he talks about how it was made. He goes through the car and he gives his opinion on it. Changed my mind..
