Kevin Conroy (Batman Beyond, Justice League) joins me this week to share how he’s battled with anxiety throughout his life, stemming from a harsh upbringing in a combative household that no child should be raised in. Kevin goes on to talk about his different family dynamics and the impact that his abusive, alcoholic father had on his future. We also get into Kevin’s evolution in acting from Juilliard to Batman, his experience living with the one and only Robin Williams, and his thoughts on Batman reprisals in Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Finally at peace. Rest in peace Kevin Conroy...thank you for sharing and breathing life into Batman. You will always be MY batman. 1955-2022. 🙏
huh...he seems peaceful here. what do you mean...finally at peace? he was a millionaire. come on now.
@@aljabirxiju9475 hmmm...money regardless...he was a human being...we all go to the same place in the end and its respectful to wish all those rich or poor...young or old...regardless of race or gender identification to a peaceful rest in the ever after. Blessings.
@@pgaven9396 i know it’s unrelated to your comment but I read a belief somewhere one time that said that not everyone goes to the same place after death and it wasn’t heaven or hell, just a new realm/world molded by whatever was in the persons head at their time of death. If it’s true I hope Kevin is somewhere peaceful and full of love. Just figured I’d share, I’m not too religious but it’s interesting to me.
Out of all the celebrities I’ve met, Kevin conroy is the kindest.most caring and most genuine of them all. He’s a good human being
Rest In Peace to Kevin Conroy 😞🙏🏽
he was indeed 😞 he is a legend
You have been through a lot, much respect Kevin.
Vale, Kevin, rest in peace. A good man and a great Batman.
Who's Vale
That Irish disfunction is legendary and not that unusual as he says.
It really has only just hit me how much this man meant to me and my childhood. Now I’m just so fucking sad.
RIP Mr.Conroy. YOU ARE BATMAN!!
Lol... I’m listening to this one while I’m waiting for some of my students to finish they exam. Some of them are watching like.... WHO FAILED
Kevin IS Batman! Live long and prosper sir!
Rest In Peace to Kevin Conroy 🙏🏽 he had a great 66 years 🙏🏽
I hear that, I am in aww of a happy family. But we live and learn so maybe it makes us wiser
Rest in peace the greatest batman
its not easy living with anxiety but it does help to find constructive ways to help deal with it. my father was a mean drunk too so i understand . God love you dear. unfortunely its not that unusual
Wow.

2:29 Funny the way he words it. the funny you make the harder it hurt
Rest in peace
I definitely will share this, I am sad that Mr. Conroy had a traumatic childhood. Thank you for this interview. I am curious did he and his family ever reconcile or did his parents stop drinking due to the volatile environment.
It's definitely not that unusual. Very much like mine. Except the police never arrived.
Jesus Christ man, same. I understand, but it did make me tougher and more aware of the real world.
@@hakanardadincli2063 I hear that and I'm sorry you dealt with that too man.
@@markanthonykow17 Thanks man, hope your also doing well. Some people dont understand the harsh realities but it did make me a better person because I now know how important it is to look out for close friends and brothers because I never had that.
Next time you think about flaunting your I “anxiety”, listen to this…
Anxiety comes in too many different forms. Obviously, Kevin’s childhood was a lot worse than many others’, but that doesn’t invalidate the trauma of someone else who had it rough but not as bad as someone else. If you apply that same mindset to how happy someone is and say “well, you can’t really be happy because someone else has it much better than you,” you’ll quickly see how flawed of a viewpoint that is.
