He was the heart, soul, and definitive voice of Batman. The once and future Dark Knight. He came here to do what he had to do and accomplished that goal. Now he can rest. Thank you for the memories, Kevin. You will be missed.
i'm pretty sure it was his voice that got him the job. but ok. i'm sure the voice casting department was looking for whether or not he was human. lol ign is jokes
@@cagneybillingsley2165shut up. How dare you speak ill of a man who played an impactful character for so many. Your mother would not be proud of you if she read your comment
Never in the history of RUclips was every single video about a specific person filled with only positive comments. That’s how important Kevin Conroy is. I’ve never heard of a voice actor who mostly played one character that had such a huge impact on a genre. Incredible. Every comic book fan in the world is impacted by his death, but more importantly, by his career
And for the fortune of Batman Fans, what you said about Kevin, applies to Mark Hamill as Joker. To many he is Luke Skywalker, but to me, Mark is the absolute Joker, just like Kevin is the absolute Batman.
@@dannycr06 True, but with Mark Hamill though, he was more that just Luke Skywalker to some and the Joker to others, he was the Hobgoblin, Gargoyle, Solomon Grundy, the Red Skull, the Trickster, Firelord Ozai, Skips and the Red Bearded Adult with candy on his beard on Codename: Kids Next Door.
I’d say Sean Schemmal is just as impactful as Kevin. Both Kevin and Sean played the same character for 30+ years. Both changed the landscape of their respective genres and became indistinguishable from the very characters they voiced.
My absolute favorite Conroy Batman moment was in the Justice League Unlimited episode Epilogue. Amanda Waller tasks Batman with killing a psycickly charged young girl named Ace, because if she dies normally she may destroy the world. When he finds Ace, she tells him about all the horrible things that had been done to her which led to her getting her powers. She admits to Batman that she’s afraid of dying, and Batman, instead of using the device that Waller gave him to kill Ace, sits with her through her last moments so that she doesn’t have to die scared and alone. Its one of the most human Batman moments I’ve seen.
it's a beautiful episode and what's better is its an old Amanda waller retelling the story so batman's protégé can understand the true greatness of the man
One of my life's greatest failures is never meeting him, thanking him and having him sign all my BTAS/Batman Beyond/Arkham stuff. Maybe in a another lifetime. Rest easy Kevin, thank you for everything.
His death broke my heart. Batman is a beloved character to so many and as the video states Kevin Conroy was Batman and he always will be. Losing him was like losing a part of my childhood much more. Rest forever our Dark Knight.
He said it himself, he wanted to be that hand in the darkness for children, he wanted to be their ally and that they could seek comfort in his performances. A beautiful soul.
Behind the stoic and often grim determination, the vital aspect that Conroy's vocal performance brought to Batman was hope and faith in humanity for better days ahead. That's what made him a hero.
Beware The Gray Ghost is one of my favorite BTAS episodes. Adam West The Bright Knight voicing Batman's childhood hero. Kevin Conroy delivering Batman's calm happiness as he interacts with his idol throughout the episode. Always makes me tear up.
This show changed so many lives. It changed animated TV. Before BTAS, cartoons were your typical affair with the villain of the week and the purpose was to sell toys. BTAS gave these villains backstories and got across that not everyone is born evil but we are broken by tragedy, our circumstances and everyone is capable of having a bad day. A generation of children from different races, cultures and other backgrounds that watched this show are now grown with their own children and helping others in their communities as lawyers, doctors, firefighters, cops etc. Not because they could be Batman, but because of Batman’s ideal which is to help others. Thank you for everything Mr. Conroy.
Batman has always been my hero. Kevin breathed life into this character in a way that no other person has or ever could. Thank you for this beautiful tribute. His legacy is enduring and everlasting.
This legendary man's speaking pipes will always be synonymous with batman in any form of media, may he rest in peace and will be remembered for years to come.
I’m definitely sad that he’s gone, this man was a huge part of our childhoods. He really was Batman for the whole lot of us. He was the heart, soul and voice of The Batman; this will never be replicated. Thanks for the memories Mr. Conroy🙏🏽 meeting him in person was awesome too; he was very kind to me.
This was a beautiful tribute. Extremely well done. It's been over a month now and this loss still saddens me greatly. Plenty of celebrities have passed but this is the only one that affected me so. Batman has been with me since Batman TAS first came out in '92. 30 years he was a steady presence in my life. Losing Batman so suddenly was a stark reminder to spend time with your friends and loved ones. To cherish the time we have. Rest easy, old friend
I'm going to miss kevin, shout out to my favorite Kevin batman line. And with that power we've made a world where no 8 year old boy will ever lose parents because of some punk with a gun.
The intro to Arkham Knight on your first playthrough when Jim says this is how The Batman dies really hits hard now. Its never going to be the same without our Batman.
This is one of the best and well done tributes ive see. Bravo, well done. Kevin would have loved it. He will be greatly missed and will always be a hero on and off screen. Forever ever in our hearts and our Batman Forever.
Kevin Conroy redeemed Batman. Thanks to Frank Miller, too many people had come to see Batman as a Punisher-style psycho with too many guns, impossibly large vehicles and pouches. Kevin Conroy reminded us that Batman was more than a costumed vigilante. He was a symbol of hope for those who had been without it. He was a champion of justice in a city of corruption. He was as he was called a Dark Knight who embodied the ideas of Chivalry including mercy and compassion towards others. The hero who wanted to ensure no one else would ever be "the child in the alley". In Kevin Conroy's Batman, we saw a man with a superpower - his heart was bigger than the rest of the Justice League. A man who would help street criminals find a better way once they got out. A man who would comfort scared children or sit with a child who was dying.
still cant believe hes gone, used to think what if he stops voicing one day who will be the next to take the mantle of the voice, we coulda had so much more performances

The Animated Series Batman will always be THE Batman for me. From Kevin’s voice to the humanity in his heart. We have a Batman who actually cares for his city and fights for it on every front, day or night, as the Bat or Bruce. He genuinely cares for his enemies and wants nothing more than for them to simply be better people for Gotham. While he is the most humane version of Batman, he is also the most badass.
He is not passed away. He just activated the Knightfall protocol.
Thank you, Kevin. For everything..

Behind the stoic and often grim determination, the vital aspect that Conroy's vocal performance brought to Batman was hope and faith in humanity for better days ahead. That's what made him a hero.
Everything his Batman did, he did out of unshakeable conviction that the world was full of people who deserved the peace and happiness he was denied.

Conroy's Batman: Apart from the Joker, always offered to help the villains get better, he didn't see them as lost causes or beyond redemption.
Even with the Joker, Batman wanted him to get treatment, he wanted the Joker to be rehabilitated.
