I own the truck and had him build it..sadly it blew within 2000 miles the engine failed it slung 2 rods still waiting on that warranty motor 2 years later
Trucking Family yes I had a rebuild from a company in Indian and blew up after 1000 miles and had to pay for anthere rebuild and never got anything back from first place rebuild it
Cummins isx is a good engine internally. once you get rid of the failing emission bs. thats why real truckers buy gliders w pre emission motors. no junky turbo, egr coolers, egr valves n the list goes on.
My 389 got the isx 15 with full delete/ egr/dpf/ n def. She Cranked to 685hp, only kept that holset vgt... she'll stroll, 6.3mpg. Just gotta keep your foot out of it, set the crusie and never touch Any Gear, on Any Hill, unless you Just Want to......
Agreed. Especially all of this Coated and Treated Stuff. Either a Cummins ReBuild Kit or a IPD ReBuild Kit, Aftermarket Exhaust Manifold, Aftermarket Turbo (Nothing Crazy Big, just Slightly Larger), and a Small Tune if Necessary. Either your Looking for Fuel Mileage & Some Slight Performance, or your Looking for A Horsepower Monster with Questionable Reliability.
I deleted my egr and def 200k miles ago. for$ 2300 took 5hrs. my truck will pass smoke test I get more mpg. and power. just make sure the shop have good reputation doing deletes
with the new laws, any truck found with emissions deleted is a felony not a fix-it ticket with a fine. The CARB goons are sitting up at the scales entering Ca and EPA in other states just looking for this. The smoke test won't work anymore if the see any modification to the emissions. they will impound your truck tow it to a dealership and if found deleted or modified they will site you with a felony and keep your truck as evidence until your conviction.
The Rawze team got a CM871 to lay down almost 1000hp to the ground with a stock vg turbo.....way less than what people pay for what these folks are asking for their work. I will say that I would rather take my $35k and buy this engine rather than put a Cummins recon in.....considering the Cummins warranty will bankrupt you with downtime.
kelseyshelshey The Guys who are with Rawze do not "dump fuel" to an isx. They know how to make more power and run cool temps as stock tunning, as well as run smooth as silk while doing all these things. Don't take my word for it, I dont care. I am an isx hater. Green means go. Yellow means caution. Red means stop, danger.
lol idk what you're talking about I tried talking to rawze about upgrading our trucks and all he could come up with was keeping it stock, I can build a 1000hp isx15 easy, I got a lot of tricks

Why don't they use electric fans on the radiator instead of clutched ones. Electrics don't take away power from the engine to run and are easier to replace when they fail.
traingp7 the amount of energy that fan would take to run is approximately 5-7 hp. go look up a 7 hp electric motor and 1. tell me where it's going to go and 2. how in God's name are you going to power that, other than a generator run off the engine. there is nothing wrong with a clutched engine fan. cheaper, easier, and more compact.
The electric fan DOES take away power from the engine, duh! In fact, as the other commentator said - you'd need a hefty fan motor, and a hefty alternator to run the fan as well!
traingp7 those fans done take any power unless the air clutch engages. You can stop that fan when it is idling. They only engage when the engine temperature gets to 210 or the air conditioning requires. The amount of air that fan moves would require a larger radiator, and four massive electric fans.
Ok. At 2000rpm these fans take 30-50 HP to drive them. Don’t believe me? Why is the clutch so big? The ecm can be programmed to turn fan on with the engine brake to create more drag and brake horsepower. And yes.....there are several companies that make electric fan setups for class 8 trucks. The fans move as much if not more air than stock. Yes, electric fans can be factory ordered when you buy a new truck. I insisted on electric fans on my peterbilt many years ago when I ordered it. Never an issue.
I like that you guys did away with that factory oil cooler! I tell every guy i know with that ISX to do away with it. Good stuff guys👍
Y ?
I have the same motor in my old Pete. I honestly think this is the best cummins ever
Whats the name of fhe engine ? Or vin to identify the engine
Looks like an cm870 isx Cummins, got rid of that Vgt turbo and that extra bs that was on it..
Good engine looks and sounds goods
Thats awesome!!!!

Damm man I feel for you.
Trucking Family why do u think it blew up? Can’t be because of the turbo and emissions delete has to be the rebuild job I would think

What is the fitting size in the oil filter housing to do this turbo swap?

You had the old actuator turbo? Did you just plug the air line?
How's the jake brake working?
whats it got for a fuel system?

another good reason not to go to ca
whoelse clicked to see a glowing hot turbo??
I like the turbo, how that work on the ECM
You need to tune the ecm ..
It's four years since you posted this video, do you have any updates on how this engine is doing at the 700hp rating?
Same shit I wana know
It blew up after 3,000 miles

Do you need delete egr in dpf to install that turbo
no
What is this guy talking about? Cummins has NEVER used plastic oil coolers.
droberts444 but...its a cummin lol
@@michaelconstantine6581 that joke is retarded, oil coolers have always been made of metal or they would melt under the 330°F oil temperature.

how much is a full rebuild like that
35,000 out the door PDI.COM
PDI tunes do not belong on trucks that work for a living.
35$k for overhaul,holy shit,I must say WOW
MarktheHunter get what you pay 4.
Yeah I can do 2 complete rebuilds on a Detroit 12.7 60 series for that. Getting 500 hp and 8 to 9 hundred thousand miles.
how are those Jake's working?
My original comment was purely sarcastic. Jakes on all ISX or ISM engines are stellar, until you put a non vg turbo on.
Cummins o caterpillar
