  • John Field (1782 - 1837) was an Irish composer, credited with first writing piano pieces called "nocturne".
This nocturne begins in a dark mood, which quickly lightens. There is a very inner section, but the piece eventually returns to its brooding origins.

he can't decide whether or not he's writing in 3/4 or 6/8, what a terrible composer.
Edit: what's even funnier is the pianist unconsciously editing this cadence at 0:30 to be a dotted quarter note going into an eighth note, instead of quarter note going into eigth note. Because prior to this, it is in 6/8, not 3/4. Accidentally creating a bar of 7/8 lmao.

      what a stupid comment… to switch between 6/8 and 3/4 is a common thing… 🤷🏻‍♂️
someone who exposes his own weaknesses in composing on youtube with bad fugues and pentatonic songs and so on, should be more respectful to good composers if he wants to be taken seriously

I think the beaming is technically incorrect, but the music definitely seems to be in 3/4, to me.

@@LittlePianoPieces my point was that he frequently metrically modulates seemingly randomly.
