Your gonna want to block off those small cubby spaces between the coop frames. This will force all the “droppings” onto the tray and prevent the need to get inside to clean out those tight spaces.
I like all the details you did very good job.. the dogs are the best part they wait patiently for you and kinda shearing the toy
My favorite series on youtube!!!!
Oh the cute energetic lovely corgi! 💕🐶💕
It's really beautiful. Those are gonna be some expensive eggs.
Put Lino in the base of the poop tray as it will make is so much easier to clean with a hose. Also, add a automatic solar powered door from the coop to the run and automatic watering and food systems. That way you can go away for several days without worrying about your girls.
Racoons will figure out the locks on the egg boxes. Try barrel bolts...
I was thinking the same thing.
You have done an amazing job! Very inspirational! Thanks for sharing.
Love the details!
You need to know about this new invention called "sawhorses".
The sawhorses are so new a lot of people don’t know about them yet.
Lumbers price is going crazy in Texas
[ Ben putting chickens in the coop, dressed like John Hammond, Jurassic Park] "Welcome to Cluckingham Palace, we spared no expense!"
This is kind of amazing.
Raccons can open the locks you installed. They have little fingers that are good at opening things...
Can i come live in your chicken coop? Lol
Little by little Cluckingham Palace is improving and finalizing itself. Like a magician you advance the finishing touches. I love your two dogs who never tire of bringing back toys no matter what you do. Continue without changing anything, you're great. Friendships
Depending on what kind of potential predators you have in the area, I think, you should have locks which are more difficult to open. Predators can be very creative when it comes yo these things.
Your pups are very lucky to have such a patient person🥰 Coop is looking bad ass.
Why did you put the mesh on the outside? I might put my mesh on the inside so it hides all the staples...
I know you asked him directly, but...
Because it's more secure on the outside. If a big predator (granted he probably doesn't get any big ones where he is) tries to push in, it's near impossible to pop the hardware cloth out if stapled from the outside. From a distance you wouldn't even see the staples. If he wants to get crazy with the aesthetic, he could always add some extra wood trim on top of the barrier edges.
I'm still trying to figure out if you're playing fetch while building or building while playing fetch.
Incredible build, thank you for sharing!
It's looking GREAT! The fact that this will all match your workshop is a really cool detail. I just picked up my new flock after taking "a break" for the last three years. I'm rehabbing my coop now but should be ready for my chicks when they are ready to go out in a couple of months. Have a good one :D
Don't put mesh on the floor of the run, put it around the perimeter on the outside. If it's inside the run, the chickens will scratch it and it will hurt their feet. Also don't underestimate predators- you should get locking barrel bolts and lock them with carabiners. I always said I would never be what Carolina Coops likes to call "Chicken Police...." You should watch some of his videos (Carolina Coops) too; He has loads of valuable information and is far far far more knowledgeable with regards to coop design than I am.
I'm sure that you are building the Cluckingham Palace for fun and experience, But I hope someone is paying you well to keep those dogs entertained.
Are you going to line the pull out deep litter drawer with linoleum or something similar? I know a lot of people who do that and it makes cleaning super easy.
Do you get some water inside the coop (the close part not the run).
You’re always using an impact drill why not use a driving drill
One suggestion for future builds: pocket holes are stronger when they are not going into endgrain. So like at 11:55 it would have been stronger if you cut your pockets in the stiles, and screw into the rail instead of the other way around.
Do you have mobile phone signal in coop? Or the mesh is too big to make a Faraday Cage?
Excellent video. I love what you are doing.
Love this chicken coop so far I love how you thought of how to do more ventilation in the chicken coop.
Wait, there was no "Okay, lets gets started." at the beginning.
That would be cool for pigeons
Does the corgi ever tire of chasing the ball?
I felt so weird when your technical difficulty was an actual difficulty. The world regained balance when Doofie and Hunsley ( I am sure my spelling of their names is horrible) were once again your "technical difficulties".
Has the rising lumber cost affected your projects much?
Yes for sure. I’ve put some bigger projects on hold because it’s hard to justify the cost
what breed is the bigger dog?
Another awesome video. You should of painted before installing. Been there don't that lol. My ocd kicked in seeing those paint lines.
It's looking so very good! I love your videos and I can't wait to see the happy chickens. This is the only channel where I love the technical difficulties!
I wish I had room for chickens to build something like this!
Suggestion: on the inside of the chicken coop, maybe cover the gaps in the studs so that chicken stuff doesn’t end up stuck in there behind the tray
More puns! So funny! That coop is definitely a Palace! Your chicks are very fortunate! Doofie is so cute - and persistent! 😂
Fanciest chicken cook ever!
Technical difficulties are always your dog's 😂😂
I love your method of making X's. I'm stealing it.
Add corefulte to the tray
Your dagg has a saw dust deficiency, might wanna check that out..
Your doing a great job one thing to keep in mind do not forget to add a chicken roost... its important for the chicken 🐔
Are you going to paint the interior or make it waterproof for cleaning?
Looks amazing. Chicks will love it.
👍👍😎👍👍
Why you didn’t cut the wood on workbench?
Dont you need locks above nesting boxes? Raccoons can open..
where is the Flipper?????????????????????????????
If you watch on mute and with CC on you can see what he is saying without having to listen to the music.
if you listen with the video un-muted you can hear him speaking AND you get to listen to the tunes :)
I want to know your chickens
