I prefer smaller designs, my wrist is 7”25 and the 54 looks absolutely perfect on it. I like when a case does not take all the available space on your wrist, I find it more subtle and elegant.
BB58 is probably the best multi purpose, elegant diving watch currently in the market. Haven´t found a watch that is as near as good as this beauty....great review.
I just bought the BB54 and my wrist is a hair bigger than 7”. So refined with its size and i much prefer the bezel. Similar to what you said in your 37mm longines spirit video, smaller watches are more refined…..even for folks like me with sizable wrists
The silver triangle in the BB54 is misaligned, or is it because of the lume pimp being misaligned? Terrible detail for such an expensive watch. I couldn't believe my eyes when a few watch enthusiasts gathered a few months ago in Madrid and I witnessed something beyond the urban legend. A San Martin Ranger homage being better finished than the Tudor itself. 🤷🏻♂️
My 54’s pip is also slightly off center to triangle, but only noticeable under macro, so not going to sweat it. I love the 54 as the most homage of the homages, and will keep it for that reason. But this video has convinced me to also keep my 58! 😊 P.S. my San Martin vintage 36mm Explorer is my favorite beater and excellent in its own right 👍🏻

I like the 54 a lot more. I don’t like the gold accents on the bezel of the 58 too much. The silver markings on the 54 and classic overall look I think just works. Love the slim case too. Just wish they made a 41mm or 39mm with the same aesthetics as the 54 or even the Black Bay Heritage colorway.
My Tudor preference is the Black Bay M79230B-0008 41mm with the white hand set, and matt blue anodised aluminium Bezel insert for a little color. I Prefer the slightly bigger size. STILL has the retro signed crown with the Tudor rose, Domed sapphire crystal, and Rivet bracelet... A modern / retro look(LoL), the best of both worlds.
Had both, 54 is better for me. The gold on the bezel never sat well with me...as its my daily, the crown is a non issue as I REARELY use it. A BIG crown is my prediction for what's next...It'll be called the BB54 BIG Crown
Was anyone choosing the BB54 over the BB58 for any reason other than a specific fit issue? Anyone at all? The BB58 is clearly superior if you don't have a fit issue with it and they're almost the same price.
What’s funny to me is that all the “cons” are positives to me. I’ve owned both and always found the BB58 bezel coloring to be a little too on the nose vintage and the crown of the 54, while smaller, has MUCH better knurling.
I love them both so much! Had the BB58 on bracelet. Favorite anytime wearer! Recently got the BB54 on a rubber strap (like a cuckoo head). I thought I would keep the one I liked the most, but now, I can’t let go of either one! They each have their own character. What’s wrong with me! 😂❤🤩

The bb54 looks more elegant with the proportions and the bevel on the case is a very nice touch. Finally the bracelet is a big upgrade. The t fit clasp is better than what rolex has. It is spring loaded rolex bracelets are not. Not sure if the bb58 has ceramic ball bearings in the clasp also.
The silver bezel markings and gilt dial clashes a bit too much for my taste on the 54. Also prefer the matte black dial opposed to the sunburst. I do like the lollipop seconds hand though. And obviously T-fit clasp is nice. 58 still wins out in the end for me.
Love my OG 41 Black Bay ETA - but Man I want the T-Fit bracelet clasp so bad. I have a Chris Ward with an on the fly and really every watch needs that.

54 is my choice because it’s way more historically accurate but unlike you my least favorite part of the watch is the pearlescent dial finish compared to the matte dial of the 58

Still thinking about swapping them out maybe one day but the snowflake are a good approximation. I don’t think Tudor could ever get that close to Rolex without losing their identity. I was surprised Rolex allowed Tudor to be this accurate to a vintage sub as it is

The red at 12 on the 58 mimmics a rare vintage submariner model (6538) which to me is taking it too far. Same goes for the gilt on the bezel. I have yet to see an actual vintage sub with «gilted» bezel, and I have owned two. To me the 54 stays more true to how a vintage watch would age and doesnt overcommercialize special featues from rare models

It's not a copy. Same company and it's their blueprints also. Read the history of the 2 companies. Like a Toyota isn't a fake Lexus. Also, Homage watches, (like Steinhart and San Martin) are just fine if you are not a snob. Well made. There are only so many designs that sell. Go to Seiko, or Orient, or Casio, or Tissot and on and they all have models that resemble Rolex dive and GMT watches. A "copy" though is outright fraud and illegal like those Chinese fakes.
Is it an optical illusion or does that 54 have an off-center bezel pip…? does not appear centered and that triangle. My friend bought a 54… He has a 6 1/2 inch wrist so it works for him. I tried it on my 7 1/2 inch wrist and it looks like a kids watch.
Theyre two completely different watches - 54 is a 37mm vintage dive paying tribute to the oyster prince back in 1954. T fit clasp which is 100x better tha the 58 and the rubbe optionality gives you two watches in 1. And the rubber option looks sick. The 58 also has way too much going on. if you prefer a minimilastic timeless style, the 54 is the watch. lug to lug its also barely any diffrent then the 58 ie it doesn't fit like a 37mm watch. I also own a 54 so im very bias, i couldn't be happier with my watch. wear this thing all day everyday
People focuse way too much on that. Sure, I wouldn't mind if they ditched it, but I'm truly indifferent. You don't even notice the faux rivets when it's on the wrist. I never think about them. I don't care if they're there or not.

No date complication… not great value. Get a Seiko instead. Seiko will last longer and keep better time. If you need the brand for self-validation then get this… a poor-cousin to Rolex.
i tried the 58 a couple of days ago and i thought it was tiny on my wrist which is about 17.5cm. I tried the black bay 41 and thought it was a much greater fit for me. I get that some people prefer a more classic fit on a watch. However to me the 58 looks odd and more like a womans watch.
No offence, but you have a small wrist. Blackbay 41 would overpower you. You must be new in the watch world. Newbs always think bigger is better. Show some restraint and get get the 54/58.
No ceramic bezel is no go for me...especially at its price point. Besides aren't we tired to wear a submariner wannabe? I would rather get the blackbay ceramic that look rather different or unique.
I consider BB 58 et 54 to be ridiculous. Supposedly being dive watches from all Tudor advertisement the only proper diver is the original 42 mm. Now we have women's watches why not a 34mm, 32mm and 28mm too. I'll wear it as a neckless.
I have a 7.25in wrist but my arm and wrist is vascular (not fatty/baby fat/shapeless) so even a 37mm or even a 33mm nomos looks fine and sexy on my wrist. I dont think a watch less than 38mm is well suited for a fatty wrist as it just makes arm and wrist look like a sausage with a strap tied around it.
A 4,000 dollar watch and they can't bother to get the pip centered.

I just got my 54 yesterday and mine has no issue of misalignment in bezel triangle. My wrist is 6”25 and 54 suits me better.
Red triangle and gold bezel numerals are a must for me. I wish the 58 had the T-fit clasp, but it’s not really a big deal to me

The 54 is the classic heritage Tudor plus it's 41mm that is the classic wrist size too

i tried the 58 a couple of days ago and i thought it was tiny on my wrist which is about 17.5cm. I tried the black bay 41 and thought it was a much greater fit for me. I get that some people prefer a more classic fit on a watch. However to me the 58 looks odd and more like a womans watch.
No offence, but you have a small wrist. Blackbay 41 would overpower you. You must be new in the watch world. Newbs always think bigger is better. Show some restraint and get get the 54/58.

No ceramic bezel is no go for me...especially at its price point. Besides aren't we tired to wear a submariner wannabe? I would rather get the blackbay ceramic that look rather different or unique.

I prefer the low key look of aluminium or steel bezel inserts myself- I quite like the Matt pelagos finishing on their ceramic bezels though

I consider BB 58 et 54 to be ridiculous. Supposedly being dive watches from all Tudor advertisement the only proper diver is the original 42 mm. Now we have women's watches why not a 34mm, 32mm and 28mm too. I'll wear it as a neckless.
I have a 7.25in wrist but my arm and wrist is vascular (not fatty/baby fat/shapeless) so even a 37mm or even a 33mm nomos looks fine and sexy on my wrist. I dont think a watch less than 38mm is well suited for a fatty wrist as it just makes arm and wrist look like a sausage with a strap tied around it.
The cyclop on the 54 looks so fake 😅
