    I think he was in the cabin with wet clothes; he took off his clothes so they would dry out and in the process he stepped out for a quick second and the door closed behind him, locking him out.
    Embarrassed he would be caught naked and not wanting to get in trouble for breaking a window, he climbed into the chimney , where the grate was rusted and easy to pull off.
    He went head first since when he got to the bottom, he thought he could push the furniture with a push of his hand ( he might have thought it was on wheels) , something he couldn’t do going legs first, and get back in. He miscalculated and either got stuck mid way or couldn’t push the furniture because it was too heavy. Just my thought .

      @@TheCellarTrueCrimefor a criminal scenario:
      S ex lure for robbry:
      Guy hides in another room and female (known to Maddux) lured Maddux to cabin with promise for sx. Almost ncked, guy comes out of the other room and tells Maddux to hand over wallet and watch, and get into fire place, placing the furniture to block him from leaving to buy them time to flee (they thought he could get out later) unable to get out because the furniture is heavy, Maddux went up, realized he couldn’t make it and either :
      A: got stuck and the body shifted when the bulldozing began or
      B: he tried to turn around and got stuck mid chimney.

      @TheCellarTrueCrime I don't think it all happened at one time. I think he climbed down the chimney to get into the house. Got stuck and died. In the process of him trying to get out or as he decomposed, he took off his clothes or they fell off. Someone years later squatted at the cabin and found him but didn't want to tell anyone. So they folded his clothing and pushed the breakfast bar up to the fireplace to block the dead body. I don't think everything happened at the time he died.

    Imo, Josh tried getting into the cabin himself and threw his clothes over the cabinet as he tried to become looser to slip through the chimney. He was in a state of mourning and was not thinking clearly. These chimney cases never end well, sadly. I always wonder if it had been better if Josh and Harley Dilly had broken a window to get into these derelict houses. RIP Josh and Harley. 🌹🌹

    • @TheCellarTrueCrime
      @TheCellarTrueCrime  Месяц назад +2

      Appreciate it! The only issue I have with the clothes is that this breakfast cabinet was supposedly completely blocking the chimney. From my understanding and how's its been reported, no one within the police thinks that he threw them from the chimney. Their explanation is that he took them off inside the cabin, then went outside, climbed the roof, and went down he chimney. To me, it just makes zero sense. Could he have done that? Of course, but logically? For what purpose is what I ask? I can't see a reason to break into a cabin, get naked, and then decide your gonna wedge yourself head first into a chimney that clearly has no way to get out even If you wanted to.

  • @Operngeist1
    @Operngeist1 Месяц назад +8

    I think a big point people are overlooking in regards to the metal grate over the chimney is that Joshua was human... he could have easily lifted the grate and removed it.
    A grate to keep animals and debris out, doesn't necessarily keep a human out.
    Even if it had been installed in a way that made it hard to remove (which I doubt since you need to access a chimney occasionally for cleaning and maintenance), it was decades old at that point and probably rusted.

    It's very possible his clothing fell out of the chimney as he decomposed. Someone in the years he was in there came into the cabin, folded the clothing, and pushed the breakfast bar up to the fireplace to block the dead body. Nothing says all that stuff was done at the time he died. He could have also died in the cabin and was pushed up there after he died. I think he got stuck, took off his clothes to try to free himself. The owner has said he was in and out of the cabin for years and moved things around. He probably picked up the clothes thinking someone who broke in left them, and he probably just set them aside. Or it was the shady friend. There's a lot there with that guy.

      Same w/the UK rabbit hunter who tied his dog to a tree while he stuck his head down a rabbit hole and jammed himself in such a way that he couldn't get his head back out and sadly succumbed to asphyxia.
      I'm sure he would have at least been grateful that if not for someone coming across his body (his torso legs & one arm poking out from between his legs, visible) his dog may have not been rescued in time and suffered his own terrible demise, tied to a tree.
      He'd suffered from addiction and drugs were found in his system. His loved ones were aware of his struggles w/addiction and said he was a loner but they were devastated, no doubt by their loss.

    Joshua was highly intelligent. Sadly I think he was attacked. Body thrown down the chimney.

    He definitely had some help getting into that chimney.

    Why do you refer to the chimney as the "crime scene" if no crime was committed..?

    • @TheCellarTrueCrime
      @TheCellarTrueCrime  Месяц назад +2

      @@carloscarrillo6595 I guess in my eyes anywhere a death has happened with no clear answer as to how, becomes a crime scene. It was treated as a crime initially when the body was found. They did an autopsy and tested for drugs etc, so I’d say it was a crime scene.

    I'm very curious, about this Andy guy. The fact Josh was dropped down a chimney, head first, with no clothing below the waist, did the autopsy also include a rape kit? Bcz if not, they should! DNA is very useful nowadays. Idk if it's possible to retrieve DNA like that, after all this time, might lead to something, might not. But if they do find something, it could easily solve this case!

      I believe his upper body was mummified and his legs were basically nothing but bone left. Not sure if they even could have gotten more then they did from his body

    I think Josh was on drugs or had mental problems

      Maybe but they didn’t find drugs in his system, he may have been struggling mentally but what happened still seems puzzling to me at least

      The video states that the autopsy report showed no evidence of drug use

      Maybe but there are easier ways to take your life. Stuck in a chimney slowly succumbing to dehydration or hypothermia would not be on my list of ways to leave this world
