Welcome to the city of Mosul. Thank you for showing the destruction that took place in the old city as a result of the war of liberation from ISIS gangs. Please also show the bright side of the city that was reconstructed after the war.
Thank you for filming the houses in the old town of Mosul. It used to be the most well preserved old town in Iraq in general. These are all listed buildings from the turn of the 19th century or older. So preserving their traditional architecture is crucial to the local heritage of the city and the country. It is great to see the rebuilding effort by UNESCO and the local people, especially the women. edit: the marble is alabaster, Mosul used to be known for its alabaster stone or marble.
Fun fact the church shown in the video is the Notre dame d’huer de mossoul. It’s history is linked to napoleon. Also mosul has countless churches 4 of which are rebuilt
Thank you Emma for the great vedios you're posting. You made me think of visiting after 26 years of being far from the country. I still remember looking through the car's back window at my house and neighborhood while asking myself "would I ever comeback?" It's the story of a small kid loved his town and friends but grew up far away from the places he loved. Thank you for the great vedios again.
