It could’ve been that but no Raiden was supposed to win to prevent Armageddon in the new timeline but later with Liu Kang he talked Fujin into allowing Shang Tsung to gain the crown so that they can have a final confrontation.

I just realised: Given how many images from the "future" Dark Raiden sent to his past self, one would think Netherrealm Studios would remake several games before resetting everything. But no, just a trilogy, that even retcons itself by the end.

Part of me wishes we could see the events of the original timeline, from MK1 to Armageddon in the contemporary engine Neatherrealm uses
They should have covered deception, deadly alliance and Armageddon before resetting the new timeline
Like how MK9 was a rebooted/remake of the original mortal Kombat trilogy. I go for the remaster updated version of the original timeline. Maybe if MK12 is going all timeline altering scenario. Maybe it’s going back to the original timeline and the events following.

10:43, the Pyramid Of Argus looks different, cause in Mortal Kombat Armageddon, the pyramid only had one row, from what I'm seeing here, it has three rows.

- Zombie Liu kang Kills Shang Tsung
- Shao Kahn kills Onaga and returns to the pyramid
- Shao Kahn fights Blaze while Raiden is busy fighting zombie Liu Kang
- Shao Kahn kills Blaze and obtains divine power
- Raiden kills zombie Liu Kang
- Raiden sends a message to the past
- Shao Kahn kills Raiden
- Shao Kahn Wins
I love both timelines. In both of them, there are good ideas and unique storylines.

the storyline is pretty much starts with amarmeggon in mk9 then raiden sends a message to his past self so it
Goes back to mk 1 , 2 and 3 and a bit of deadly alliance and alittle bit of shalion monks then ends with the start of mk4 with shinnok
Mkx is pretty much mk4 , and its own thing mkx
Mk 11 itakes off where mkx ends goes back to mk9 because of kronika brining back characters who died in mk9 and mixing it with the mkx stroyline and alittle bit of deception ( mentioning of havik ,chaos realm etc )
So it's a mix of mk9 , mkx , mk11 & alittle bit deception
which hopefully means the next game mk12 is just about deception and Armageddon
nobody ever talks about how mortal kombat: armageddon had kart-races mode

You know despite MK9 rebooting the series, it was still the sequel to “Armageddon”. I haven’t played all the MK games but I wish I did. Wonder if the Pyramid will ever make a new appearance in future installments. Just because time was altered in MK9 and then rewritten in MK11 doesn’t mean that Armageddon plot can’t make a reappearance.
Technically speaking, the armageddon storyline has NOTHING to do with any of the Main Characters. It’s a quest for Daegon and Taven. So no matter what happens/happened, Armageddon is SUPPOSED to happen, even if Liu Kang is revenant or kronika is here or shang tsung blah blah blah, either way that Pyramid has to appear. But Let’s Hope NetherRealm doesn’t forget or retcon it out of existence

Onaga isn't invicible, and Kahn have so many allies that want to help him... he probably got some help too to defeat Blaze. I just can't imagine someone defeat Blaze alone because the fire elemental is the most powerful being in the series (except One Being and maybe a very few)

If there's ever a remake of MK9 (using an artsyle between the stylised of the old game and the photorealism of the current ones) they should recreate, and mix, the epic Armageddon opening with the somber one seen in it's beginning. I just realized after many years of watching Armageddon's trailer, that in 2:40 there is was Johnny Cage pushing Sonya Blade off the pyramid. And knowing that those two would be together in MK9, MK10, and MK11.
