Back in the 1970s (?) there was a TV show called Kung Fu. David Carradine played a kind of warrior monk wandering through the Wild West. Every so often there would be a flashback to him being trained in Kung Fu. Whenever his master was delivering some ancient words of wisdom, he would address Carradine as "Grasshopper." I think this might be a perfect comedy. First off, the writing. The script is so tight that literally every moment on screen is either foreshadowing or pay off. Then one of the BEST ensemble casts to come out of the UK just absolutely nails bringing everything to life. And there are so many jokes, references, callbacks, and foreshadowing, that it is just endlessly re-watchable.

As soon as I saw Dawn was going to react to this I knew she was going to love it. This is right up her alley and didn't disappoint. I absolutely *LOVE* the editing in this. It really gives the movie such a fun personality. This is the best of the bunch in my eyes and 100% re-watchable.

There are several borrowed pieces from other movies, indirectly. They're a sort of homage. Like the Japanese Peace Lily, in Leon the Professional, he carried around an indoor plant which is also an Arum. When he hits the kid on the head with the can, Crocodile Dundee.

3:07 is one of my favorite foreshadowing lines in a movie. It literally gave away the entire twist that was coming from the start of the movie.
Nicholas Angel: "You can't just make people disappear."
"Yes I can, I'm the Chief Inspector."
I love the snappy editing style that Edgar Wright uses in his films. Loved his film Baby Driver too.
The Chief Inspector was in Harry Potter too as Prof. Slughorn. The yarp guy is known for playing a character in Game of Thrones, so maybe you saw a reference to that on tt?

It’s called “The Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy” because they cover different genres (“flavours”). But in recent years people online started the trend of shortening it to “The cornetto trilogy”. Initially Edgar Wright mentioned the trilogy title as a jokey reference to the French “Three Colours Trilogy”, but the interviewer took him seriously, so it stuck and by the time Hot Fuzz was being filmed both Edgar Write Simon Pegg had grown to love it and made it official.

Simon and Nick are besties in real life. They met while working in a restaurant when Simon was a young actor. later, when Simon co-wrote SPACED, he brought Nick Frost onto the show, even though Frost was not an actor at all. Simon was just certain that he'd be funny on camera.
And that's how their enduring creative partnership started.

Dawn, have you seen "Spaced" ? It was a British TV show back in the 90s, Edgar Wright directed it, and Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are both in it. Basically birthed the Cornetto trilogy. Only 2 seasons, maybe 12-14 total episodes. It's the same feel, right up your alley, and I would love to see you react to it if you haven't seen it yet.
