- A filled out watercolour sketchbook of mine with paintings from 2016-2017. This was an A4 Winsor & Newton Watercolour Journal, with cold-pressed 300gsm paper. By far, one of my favourite sketchbooks!

Wow. A lot of other people do drawings like this, so many people- but none like you. I know you'll never see this, but I still want to say it- you're different because I can actually see the feeling behind your art, the emotion, the effort, the time that it took...somehow, it's there. All these artworks are not only beautiful, but emotional. Absolutely amazing, you're incredibly unique.

I tried to challenge myself more in the year's sketchbook -- I drew males, I attempted more scenic pieces and worked a lot more with filled out backgrounds. Looking back, really proud of my progress.
Excitingly, I'm currently working on getting these annual sketchbooks made into available coffee-table art books, or something like that! EXCITEDD

I’m 17 years old and started watercolor half a year ago and I’m am so excited for when my sketchbooks look as good as yours!!!!!
It is not the goal of a sketchbook to look like this. A sketchbook should have sketches in it which are not perfect and rough… ideas and different versions of one motif. Please do not try to be perfect in your sketchbook, it will just leave you frustrated…

Hieu do you ever need to remove a page cos the painting went wrong, or are you just that consistent?!!
There are definitely pages where I've wanted to remove / rip out for reasons i.e messy work, not how I wanted it to turn out, but I tell myself not to, only because I have to remember it's a sketchbook at the end of the day!
kelogsloops wow that is impressive. Every page looks amazing to me! And since you flip through live on camera, rather than scanning and cleaning in photoshop, we can see it for real which is cool. Can't wait for 2018s one. Kenzo

Oh wow... the paper must be really nice to be able to use watercolor on both sides of it and not have to worry.
Often coldpress watercolor paper that is 300 gsm (140 lbs) or higher gives you a little more leeway to watercolor on both sides. I've found that letting a piece dry with a small clip holding the page straight or closing the sketchbook after the surface dries (in like a moleskin) also keeps the paper flat.
i use a sketchbook that has paper that's not too thin nor too thick and it can handle watercolour on both sides, the only thing is the paper warps tho

Your style is amazing. All the artworks are gorgeous, I love the artwork with the sleeping deer and the woman in a yellow coat sitting by the water. It shows your versatility in how different the scenes are but still have your unique style. :-)

You might consider composing an album of your work and putting it on display or even making a coffee table book and selling it to fund your work. You have a creative talent that is rare and should be shared with others. You will inspire many practicing artists to follow their dreams and not give up on them. There is philosophy in your work, please continue to share it.

Your works are beautiful. I used to love drawing and painting back in elementary, art was my passion and I mostly have the best works in my class. However I lacked social skills at that time, i was an introvert. I was often ignored and bullied, so I changed myself and pretended to be someone im not; just to be accepted. I forgot about art then. Its a passion and a gift i already had and I regret so much to let go of. Until now im still in love with art, but im not as gifted as I was before. I dont know if ill ever acquire my gift back again.
There is no such thing as a gift. Being creative is really only you being open to anything and letting whatever it is float through your mind. The artistic side is considered even less of a gift.
It's something much more beautiful and rewarding then a gift, its your hard work and experience that makes you improve.
I dislike the opinion that talent exists. Sure, people with perfect pitch have what could be considered a "talent". But you cant be born knowing how to draw an abstract wolf thats combining with the background =)
There really is only now. Start again. The past really has gone, it is just memories that exist, and they are most definitely not real.
This inspired me to pick up my watercolors again earlier today and now I realized why I stopped lol. I'll probably try and continue (?)
lee aikha people are not born with talent they work super hard to get where they’re at!Meaning anyone can be an artist if they just practice hard! I mean give them some credit ^_^ ! and im sure sagelikescats could if they really wanted to and put effort into it.

Hrmmm! A page could go anywhere between 4-9 hours! Just depends on the layering and complexity I guess!
