We don’t use $ in the U.K. we use the £ sterling. But what did the dealer who bought it make on it? How much did he sell it for - why were we not told?
@@shawnariley3087 this was 10 years ago so it would be $400. Currently similar Victory watches sell for around £500-£900, well below Oyster or other models as these were specifically made for soldiers to buy so would have been a cheaper range.
Rolex’s of that vintage have a very limited market..its damaged too and it would have cost probably the same amount to repair it..the buyer probably sold it for £1k-1200
See what you mean, but there are fewer relatives in the newer generation you could give antiques to that would want or appreciate them. Better they’re going to a home that wants them.

The .800 silverware is more common to continental Europe, while .925 was more common in the UK at that time.

That enamel box was stamped…inside near the edge..they didnt mention that
