    The .800 silverware is more common to continental Europe, while .925 was more common in the UK at that time.

    $200 for any type of Rolex watch seems crazy cheap.....

      Right?!? I was wondering what year this was shot? Surely not anytime recently? Or should We move to the UK and go into the used Rolex business?

      We don’t use $ in the U.K. we use the £ sterling.
      But what did the dealer who bought it make on it? How much did he sell it for - why were we not told?

      @@shawnariley3087 this was 10 years ago so it would be $400. Currently similar Victory watches sell for around £500-£900, well below Oyster or other models as these were specifically made for soldiers to buy so would have been a cheaper range.

      Rolex’s of that vintage have a very limited market..its damaged too and it would have cost probably the same amount to repair it..the buyer probably sold it for £1k-1200

      See what you mean, but there are fewer relatives in the newer generation you could give antiques to that would want or appreciate them. Better they’re going to a home that wants them.
