I have used a 4 stone cylinder hone to bore out .25 mm over , but doing this I was able to bore it out a full inch and install a chevy 350 piston on my bike, Thanks bro.
I like how you demystify mechanical operations. After watching this last video, it gave me the confidence to go out to the garage and wrestle that old /69 CB750 Four engine out, strip it down to oil pan, right there on the floor. All new gaskets from a top quality beer cast. new seals all round with hemp rope. Only the best, just like you. Bored out with a coke bottle and sand and finish honed with your great device and varsol. It leaks a little oil, but that will seal when it heats up after I get it out in the spring. I'm really looking forward to taking her out for that first spring ride. On the up side, this whole adventure has been a win, win experience I have an aces fresh rebuild, just wanting to go and almost enough parts left over to build another engine. thanks

laugh all you want folks, during the upcoming economic collapse and subsequent EMP blast, Itchi will be one of the ones boring cylinders, keeping those bikes running. Bad Ass

Thx... gr8 vid. Should have watched it again before I proceeded tho. I used metal spoons instead thinking they'd be ok and now I have an egg shaped barrel. Still my friend has pointed me in the direction of a retailer that sells oversized egg shaped pistons. Phew... all will be ok after all. Thanks Man... you're a real hoot : ) Keep those excellent vids coming
I am particularly impressed with your ability to recycle and reuse seemingly useless junk into precision workshop tools. Great job going green! One question, is your honing oil recycled from deep fryers, or do you source waste motor oil?
Used your technique. My 1000cc is now a 2300cc or technically 2.3litre. I'm using Methyl Ethyl Casitone fuel for rocket like purpolsion. Can now run 0-60 in 2.2 secs and run an 8 sec 1/4mile!! Thanks dude!!
i would like to try a go at an electric motorbike conversion. there is a Vintage Voltage series on motortrend tv about a Welsh shop installing tesla gear in vintage motors.
That was an excellent demonstration. I remember a guy who used the same procedure back in the day. I think I already have all the tools. Just need some sand from the beach. Thank You.
Another rake armature dispening bad advise, he shows using A&H to hone the cylinder. Throw that shit out, use only Colgate when honing! Do it right or don't even bother. Totally forgot to spit and rinse when done honing too.Only thing nise I can say is he does have safetee googles.was worth the 3:08, real hoot. great matter-of-fact tone in the narration, adds credibility and believability. You have a future in junk bond sales.
Fantastic job!!!!! That took some serious skill. And, thanks for the tape suggestion. I've overhauled my aircraft engine with spoons and tape. Works perfectly. Had a good laugh, thanks...
Glad I found ya Ichiban Moto , I've been doing things all wrong! It takes an incredible amount of skill and experience to produce curly metal shavings with plastic spoons and some paste. May we all aspire to your level of skill and remain humble LOL

I used your technique on my Yamaha ttr-90, but the cut was so aggressive that the cylinder is now ventilated all the way to the cooling fins. Will this just make that little dirt bike run cooler now? I had to use a LOT of cylinder tape to make it fit, but I think it just looks cool now that I can actually watch the piston move up and down between the cooling fins...BAD ASS!
ALWAYS use either KY jelly or Apple ( not Grape) jelly as a premium lubricant on suck precise boring and honing applications. Almost all cylinder head cracks can be filled in with black shoe polish. Putting a teaspoon of sand in with your new oil change will eliminate sludge in your crankcase. A few drops of local honey will seal cracks in your battery.
If you don't have the budget for the adhesive piston assembly material you can use a center punch, just punch the skirt of the piston and the center punch makes raised sections to fill in the gap.
Thanks for an insight into the mystical world of the machine shop!It is awesome what you can achieve with a few hand tools in your garage it puts the 'professionals' to shame! Any chance you could show us how to rebuild a cylinder head and all of its complicated valve stuff???? :)

LOL toooooooooooo funny! There is, along this same vein, a tutorial where a bmw (?) corner lights have an very obvious air leak, and are only half full of fluid. Very nice presentation of how to remove reseal and refill with blinker fluid.

Dang it! I’ve been using generic aluminum foil from giant eagle this whole time to enlarge my pistons. No wonder customers have been calling me wanting to know why they had strange clicking noises from their cylinder area. I simply told them it needed a break in period of 300 hours.
