- Toki remake completed on hardest mode, no deaths. No cheats no autofire, etc., just run and shoot (or spit, in Toki's case).
After several years of development and publishing delays, it looked that Toki remake will not see the light of the day, but at the end it came out. And they where not joking calling it a remake. The graphic is updated, but the gameplay is almost the same, it feels almost like you play old arcade Toki, with one difference - remake is easier than original.
Don't get me wrong, it's not easy game, but original was very hard, typical arcade coin muncher. In remake, enemies require less hits to be killed. For example, this makes 2nd boss a joke since you can easily destroy dropped eyeballs. In original you couldn't destroy them easily and you had to evade or jump on them, which made that boss fight much more difficult. But that's maybe makes this game more enjoyable and less frustrating.
Anyway, here is whole game, no death gameplay, on hardest difficulty.

Makes me honestly sad there isn't a special ending for completing it on hardest difficulty. Great job though, far better than I can manage!
I had no idea they remade this game, I loved the details added. One of my fave arcades as a kid. It's safe to say this is how our minds pictured the scenery back then.

Yeah, I just gave up now on this level, was on the final cart section but I have no time anymore for rinse and repeat like when I was a kid. So thank you for letting us see the end of it :)
You can't hear the background music.
It is so weird that the Switch port is almost identical to the PC version except that the only option on the title screen is the difficulty selection, there are no weather effects (fog, rain, thunder), no Stage Clear message, and some enemies are missing sound effects/voices and animations.
The final boss of each level seem more easier than the arcade version but it is a great good
They Look tougher than NES version ones tho. And NES version is only one i played.
They are tougher
You can tell they're easier just from the stage 2 boss fight. The eyeballs it launches take way more hits to get rid of in the arcade. Used to be easier to just jump on them rather than try to shoot them
Amazing job

I feel like that stage 3 boss fight is where the makers of Boogerman got their initial idea
This is mind blowing 🤯really cool
Boss move at 1:37 !!
They should include the original game in, just for us fans, otherwise this remake is sweet
Which version is it ? I’m really surprised, on Switch I don’t have all the menus you have (Arcade / Records / Options / Extras), what a pity :(
PC version.
I was actually going to ask the same thing as I have the Switch version and you can only select the difficulty setting. I wonder why the Switch version got the raw end of the deal?? I'm assuming they rushed the Switch port.
I'm sorry. I'm don't spiking English.
PARÁ QUÉ CONSOLA ES...???
PLEASE. HELP.. THANK YOU
The level 6 jumps are almost impossible
No.
They're very challenging jumps and they need a very precise way to archive them
i did them in 8 tries
Hello, 20:24 : you run and jump ? Thanks
Yes, for longer jump you keep FWD key while jumping.
So glad I never bought this, original games much better.

Its not fun without pixel art
O common, its fun. I would just love that they changed it a bit, more like sequel, not as complete remake.

i know is 100% subjective, but most of this high-fps high-res remakes of old arcade looks cheap, like a old cell phone game or flash game. Not saying is a bad work, again, is subjectivity.
