I prefer the look of the Orient over the Seiko, to be honest. It's got a beautiful dial and bezel and the case looks better as well. With the Jubilee bracelet it's a killer combo.
I love my Triton. I just changed out the bezel insert to a sapphire full lume insert. WOW! It is very nice. I will most likely get the strap code jubilee bracelet.
After getting the Triton and Strapcode, I'm wondering why I waited so long. 😄 The two together look OEM as they're made so well. It's very comfortable and not at all heavy on my 7" wrist. The icing on the cake is the amazing accuracy of the Triton. I have two Seikos that I love that are so off the mark compared to the Triton that I've stopped wearing them.. I'm well within COSC range with the Triton. It's so consistent that I've stopped checking it as much as when I first got it. As my go to daily wearer, It never runs down as it winds it up like nobody's business. I can be down 12 hours and putting it on for an hour can almost take it it's 40hr mark. Remarkable. The blue version that I have is so beautiful yet understated. This is so far removed from bling and the over artful attempts of most micro brands. The Strapcode is all that was needed to take it to the next, tasteful level. Thank you for this video pairing.

IMO micros have put pressure on the Hamiltons, Orients, Seikos and other similarly priced brands (sub $1,000) to step up their products. There are a million different divers on the market and almost all offer better features than the halo mode, headliner, standard barer Seiko dive watch, the SKX. If there weren't so many options between ~$250 to $750 with sapphire glass, ceramic bezels, lumed inserts, a better SII movement, etc. from micros then Seiko would have probably sold the 7S26 SKX, as is, forever. The Orient Triton on the Strapcode is a bad-ass watch with a lot of awesome features and style. It's a smidge on the large side but I am very interested. I bet most guys who aren't deep in to watches would be blown away with the quality and very happy to wear a Triton.

Back then, I didn't know what to expect and Triton was 3 times the price, so I went with the basic stuff. It is a good time piece, but when I saw how Triton looks with that bracelet, I had to upgrade. And upgrade it is. Great watch this. However, I reckon SKX isn't a competition for Triton - take the cult following out and Seiko's work horse struggles with Ray II. Turtle is. In theory, because Turtle is much, much worse than Triton. I still like it though 😉
I picked the Triton a few weeks back. I live in Scotland and so was difficult to buy. The Angus upgrade is also difficult to buy without high import tax. I’m trying to work out how to pick one up. Great vid! Like how you’ve synchronised both pieces!

I have Seiko Turtle Padi on same Angus Strapcode and having better movement as well as hacking hand winding and Sapphire makes it that much of a better watch-on par price wise with that blue Orient
Have an Uncle Jubilee on my SKX, actually meant for a Tudor BB58 41mm. Fits 99% & feels absolutely sublime on my wrist. Out of curiosity, ever tried mounting the SKX bracelet on the Triton? I want to try BUT but my springbar tool took a crap the other night....
Nice job with the different light situations. I had the black and sold it, I'm going to re-buy it, but I'm considering the blue version this time around. The black had matte black dial,and this blue looks much more pleasing to the eye. I'm just afraid that it might be too blue for my liking and not easily matched with different outfits, whereas the black seems more versatile.
The Triton seems amazing. My fave is the black version. Love the power reserve complication. Too bad I just can't get myself to buy another diver when I already own one. I'd just end up wearing the one I like best 95% of the «dive-watch time» anyways, so owning 5+ divers isn't for me, even if I keep discovering new awesome divers that I really want every now and then 😅
I feel you. It's much easier to trick yourself in categorizing divers in two categories: dressier and tooly 😅 That way you can own at least two. In my case, Triton and Turtle play their respective roles 😉
I’ve had my Neptune since mid COVID and I keep coming back to this video to try to convince myself to get the jubilee but I’m not sure if I like it. The look of the male end links doesn’t fully convince me.
That SKX has been so influential for me thinking about how to mod my pieces. Have you seen the lumed sapphire Pepsi insert from LCBI? Could add even more pop to your SKX009.
I've been combing through the measurements of the bezel inserts for a while now, and the Seiko Prospex Samurai _seems_ to be the right inside/outside diameter, but i haven't been able to confirm the thickness or chamfer. I've sent out a request to one after market bezel supplier that i've ordered from before, to see if they'd be interested in making inserts for the Triton, and am waiting for their response.

I didn't realize it until I read it somewhere that the handset on the Triton is the exact same one that was on the Mako USA, hence why the minute hands is kinda short and doesn't reach the minute markers which is one of my dislikes of this watch. Wish Orient put more original handset on this watch. It's a big watch, bit dial, and the hands should've been longer as on the Kamasu

I can't find that saturation diver clasp for the orient anywhere on eBay. Mm300 clasps all day tho 😑
Michael I just found out you can buy a Saturation Diver bracelet from Orient. Maybe take the clasp from that and put it on?
