Orient is seriously such a fantastic brand. I love that green! I’m usually reserved to navy, white, cream, or black dials. That being said, that olive green speaks to me!
Got the green one a month ago for 240€. Looks great. Feels fine. Yeah, hollow endlinks but with saphire and it runs with max. +10sec. Lume is fantastic. I like this one a lot.
I'm glad you got your watch! what model is it and how long did it take to be delivered? I ordered the isl-18 which was supposed to be delivered on the 14th but I'm still waiting 😑
@@jason420jv1 ISL-18 as well. Shipping time does not have to do with LIW, but with your postal service and how long processing takes at customs and sorting facilities. I don’t think you can really compare from one country to another. Model you ordered does not have anything to do with it either, as they had whatever you ordered in stock.
@@martinc.720 Marc shipped me a replacement watch 12 days ago. It's still on its way. USPS is struggling with the influx of online holiday-related orders and low staff due to the pandemic. The previous watches I ordered from Marc arrived in a few days without issue.
I like the date window with the 1/2 marker (crescent moon marker), it's that little "extra" that makes it stand out from others that don't do it, particularly when the lights go out and it glows.
Late comments, lol I know. Just like boosting the algorithm for Mark and watching videos about watches I've owned for 2 years. Speaking of though, two years with the green one and I'm still very happy with this watch.
I view this as a Neptune with the standard Mako/Ray/Kamasu workhorse movement and the longer polished Kamasu handset. I believe the case and bracelet measurements match the Neptune precisely so, subject to Marc's confirmation, aftermarket Neptune bezel inserts, bracelets will work. Personally, if I can't have a no-date Orient diver (I own 4) or date only at 6, I will take the date at 4 (the half-moon looks like a "D" for date?). ALSO- don't forget the list price on the Kamasu is $460.
The triton is £209gbp here in the uk, that's around $289usd. For this price it's a good value purchase.. I also have a Kamasu, with the red dial, Its AWESOME.
Amazing green version with orange accents. Nato strap allows to get rid of that hollow end link on the bracelet versions. Definitely the best one, apart from the jag focus LE version that is not shown here. Longer hands compared to the Triton which I really do like. Great vid as always Marc.
These new orients are basically a little updated SKX. Seiko gets rid of the SKX and its sister company orient makes it a no name skx. Lol. I love the plated orange and green one
They are a step down after the Neptune but still excellent watches. According to the WUS forums aftermarket bracelets for the Neptune fit these too. It would be cool to know what bezel inserts are compatible too. Pity they opted for an etched caseback instead of the molded one.
The watch head is gorgeous. However my complain with orient divers is the bracelets. Stamped clasp and the lack of a bracelet taper is a turn off. Easily fixed tho if strap code makes braceletes for it
This feels like what happens to some swatch group brands. Is EpsonSeiko holding Orient back? Orient was making Seiko look bad - now the odd move with the terrible model numbers and the value for money is also getting worse.
Currently on market I'm hesitating between blue kamasu found at 160 € green kamasu for 235 Pepsi "triton light" for 260 and blue Triton for 370. I'm looking for a side to side comparison between Kamasu and this new "Triton light" to see colours under same light especially blue and green versions... wondering if kamasu dial pops more... if anyone read this...
I have an 8 1/2 inch wrist will either one of these wristwatches work for me if the bands are too small can you get extra links I can always get a larger NATO strap
Orient isn’t owned by Seiko(the watch company), they are owned by Seiko Epson(the giant company that also owns Seiko(the watch company)). They are a sister brand.
Thanks for the video! Would love to know though if any of the Strapcode alternatives for Kamasu or Triton fit this one. And the bezel insert replacement options :)
You can find at lower price. I got mine, green and orange,at 299 euro. There was also a Limited Edition of it at 329 euro with leather nato strap. I would like a bracelet for mine as I'm not a nato strap guy but I have to wait for one that matches the bronze finish of the case.
Interesting move for Orient. The coated one is nice as is the matching hardware on the strap. I still think they have too many similar dive models now.
@@rayygun I'm sure if this was sized smaller you'd be whining as well. Not everyone is born with massive wrists...so naturally a smaller ltl would be much appreciated. I can deal with 43mm case but the lug to lug definitely needs to be smaller.
hello, I would like a simple question, what is this orient orient? No name, is it bon for this orient, I put a Jubilee ryp, the same one that is placed in neptune orient in this or bon
The Phobos stole the show for me...😂 I do like the green and orange colourway, that popped! They do have some wrist presence, but the bracelet is disappointing, and I think they are positioned against some stiff competition at that price point for a diver. I assume those prices will not be the street price though, so we shall see..
Seems to be a downgraded version of the Neptune/triton, no power reserve, downgraded movement, no solid end links definitely over priced for what it is.
Considering I just bought a Neptune/Triton from Marc for $400, $416 is a bit much. But that’s MSRP, and if you are paying full suggested retail for a watch, I have some bridges to sell you, LOL! Also, it looks like a Neptune/Triton case/bezel with a different face/movement/crown, so I’m willing to bet the inserts and bracelets are swappable...
The face on the Phoibos is too small but a pretty watch. I do like the half marker on the Orient but it's too big for me. You are definitely right about the aged green and orange style. That's my pick as well! What is the new name for the maroon dialed Kamasu? Epson is changing too much for the Orient watches. Sad. Nice video.

Kind of less for more, comparing to Triton/Neptune several things I notice, no divers notation on the face which indicates certified divers watch, also lacking are drilled lugs, solid end links, and the "mvmt Japan" means movement made in Japan, however the watch may be assembled somewhere else.

That dark green + orange combo is mesmerizing.

Not related to these watches, but I received my Islander a couple of days ago, and I love it! Very well built, and the dial is stunning!

Someone please build a solid aftermarket bracelet for this great diver!
Orient's version of the SKX, perhaps? The "OKX".
LOL
Oh my God. I said the same thing
@@OLMmedic lol, I'm pretty sure the S in SKX stands for Seiko, So naturally Orient's version should be OKX. It's only missing the ISO certification.

New Triton range are superb and no crown problems with the new model. Same dimensions as the previous Triton 💪
You do the greatest reviews on RUclips. They are great references before buying.

I like that it has longer minute hand than the Triton and nice knurled crown. The Triton excells in everything else.

I think Orient is positioning itself to be what seiko was 5 to 10 years ago. The public will give the watches the nicknames(name)
I like that they made the minute hand longer, and the crown knurled
Love both Orient and Phoibos, thanks 😊
Us too!
Any luck with the strapcode bracelets? I've been wondering as well.
It's a Great looking watch for those slightly larger wrists (+7 inch) except for the bracelet that is
For the specs and price, the Kamasu is my preference.
same here

Any word on which strapcode bracelet fits?
Is there any other bracelets that suit this watch?
Love the green version, respects from South Africa
with the price dropping to 250 usd this is really interesting, best value diver under 300?

I prefer the Triton over those Orient, but the full green one is awesome. And you can get it for less than 300$. At that price are a good choice.
Really very nice. Particularly appreciate the green dial but a little pricey for me. I know they are a good watch but the cost does put me off.
I love Orient but that it's too expensive for what they are offering. For that money I go for the Triton which is a better watch by a lot .
but it's ugly by a lot as well :D
Understood.
Its around $300 nowadays, which is where I think it belongs.
Nice piece, just not entirely sure it brings anything different to the table. Would prefer a kamasu or trident myself
Fair enough!
Just a thought, do your Sapphire bezel inserts for the Triton/Neptune work with this watch?
Green is beautiful
Thank you for coming out with the Orient Kamasu bezel! I was FINALLY able to make my kamasu exactly how I want it
Great Video! Is there a better Jubilee style bracelet that would fit this model? something solid with a better clasp. Thanks :)
These new orients are basically a little updated SKX. Seiko gets rid of the SKX and its sister company orient makes it a no name skx. Lol. I love the plated orange and green one
Really like the green faces with the orange accent on the hands. the Green/Orange Antique on the Nato is sharp!
Sure is!
Just bought the Pepsi one for new for $225.. a steal its a perfect diver imo for sub $300. I might even get the same one in green

I'll have to check.
These new neptunes are way overpriced. The one thing that made them special the power meter is gone so why bother.
That bothers me. Loved the power reserve meter.
the placement and the way the date window cuts into the hour marker drives me crazy!
I have this watch.. i want the insert bezel for this watch because the insert was scratched... Do you know where can i find this insert in internet?
The watch head is gorgeous. However my complain with orient divers is the bracelets. Stamped clasp and the lack of a bracelet taper is a turn off. Easily fixed tho if strap code makes braceletes for it
it's the same with seiko as well. you have to pay north of $1000 to get a half-decent bracelet. even at 1k there are still some shit parts.
Thanks.
The green and orange looks nice, but Phoibos has my heart. I put my Proteus on one of your khaki seatbelt straps and it's a perfect match.
This feels like what happens to some swatch group brands. Is EpsonSeiko holding Orient back? Orient was making Seiko look bad - now the odd move with the terrible model numbers and the value for money is also getting worse.
Looks like an Orient Kano with sapphire?

Would you choose a buttery brown or caramel color for your watches with a hint of burgundy? That would be awesome.
Price seems a little heavy for a Seiko sub brand. That Phoibos for under $300, now that’s a deal

That LX is gorgeous!!!
I wish Orient would make a smaller alternative to the Triton. I would buy one instantly.
You want a ladies’ watch? 😂🤷♂️
At first glance the bezel on the phoibos looked massive
Makes the Triton/Neptune look like a bargain, especially with its superior and more expensive 40N5a movement.

Which shaped Crafter Blue strap fits best in this Orient lug opening?
My problem is that why the date overlap the circle? Why not just remove the circle and replace it with the date?
hey mark i saw a ploprof homage called the goode goman 1200m search it up and tell me if it is worth the shot , thanks
Looks like seiko is using this as the replacement for the skx looks like the skx case.it's pretty much an skx that hacks and hand winds
Does strapcode make bracelet for this watch?
Yes.
And the hands of the Kamasu!
True.
How does this compare to the mako XL? Thanks.
finally, Orient diver with the proper size crown! But the whole watch is too big by 4mm.. :D And 200 is the most I would give for these specs..
Thanks for watching anyways.
Interesting move for Orient. The coated one is nice as is the matching hardware on the strap. I still think they have too many similar dive models now.

Relax guys, the Kamasu retails for $450 and you can get one for around $200 online. It is a bit too big though.
The green orange omg
Maybe Orient is haveing some trademark issues only reason I can think that they don't allow you to use a name for them.
Not really feeling them, but I'm glad they corrected the "Water Resist" writing.
Got it.
Looks like a great watch! How does it compare to a Seiko Turtle?
Im not sure how I feel about the four o'clock date wheel. Nice looking watches regardless. Think I prefer the Kamasu
Kamasu or this one? Which one do you prefer?
Will it suit my "6.8 wrist?
Would anyone know how to take away the squeaky noise of the metal bracellet?
Looks like a modder to me. When will the bezel inserts and upgraded bracelets drop? Lol
Thinking they obtained through an Adoption Agency instead 😂🎅🥂
ha!
I bet Jody at Just one more watch would love a Islander for review.
Ok.
I know this is not your problem, but for that price, no reason to not have better specs. Hollow end links, pressed clap, etc. Buy an islander instead.

Orient is going the way of Seiko... less bang for your buck. Time to buy any old Orient watches you were wanting...
This is the first Orient watch that does NOT say the "Orient Watch Company Ltd." on the case back??? Why???
Like the world needed another diver. Sheesh.
Never enough divers.
The Orient Aquaman.
$400 for hollow end links and that nasty pressed clasp? No thanks. But that Phoibos - worth a look.
I like Orient watches. But no solid end links and an aluminum insert for $400+? No way! Orient took a page from Seiko and charged more for less.
