Just wanted to leave one quick note in case there still is some confusion: Some of you may have received a notification about a Triton video weeks ago. That was actually when I was on my trip and I was trying to upload a 6 sec wrist-roll video as a story to youtube. I accidentally uploaded it as a normal video and quickly deleted it. Sorry if there was any confusion.
I really like that all that you show every watch you review with different straps. I just got this watch. It was my last impulse buy of the year and right when they discontinued it. Got it at a good price. I’m loving it so far
I love Orients. I have an Orange Ray 2 and a couple of Orient Star's. I really do like the power reserve feature. I've recently bought a Seiko Turtle Save the Ocean edition which was on sale for Triton money, and even though I'm an Orient man, have to say the Turtle Save the Ocean is a hell of a watch and won't be coming off my wrist for a while. Great thorough video as always mate 👍
I have a black Triton on an Angus Jubilee and love it. The OEM bracelet isn’t bad. Everyone seems to think they should get the level of a Rolex Sub for $400. Orient makes a solid watch at a great price. I currently have 5 Orients and they all get worn.
Great video! Love the level of detail. I purchased one about three months ago and I couldn't be happier. As you stated, it would have been nice to see a better clasp than the stamped one they use, however, I've had other watches with the same set-up and never had a problem with them, so there you go. Thanks
I love my Triton, the only regret I have is getting the black one instead of the blue one like you. I have mine on a Strapcode Angus Jubilee and I think it vastly improves both the wearibility and looks of the watch. Great review as always!
Fan and subscriber. Your vibe is very relaxing and I enjoy your approach to the reviews. I own a Triton and honestly didn’t think I’d keep it for very long. More just initially curious about Orient as a brand. The watch has surprised me. It’s a great tool piece and wears quite well given its size. I’ve dove with it and it performed nicely as a back up timer to the computer. As you mentioned, the bracelet is crap, but easily replaced. Great review.
Test drove a blue one for a few weeks in the summer and I absolutely loved it. I actually thought it wore a bit smaller than the dimensions would imply. The wingspan had me concerned but it was a nonissue. I would definitely pick it over the Seiko SRP773. I think the only thing I noticed that could be improved upon would be the crown. When pulled all the way out there was a noticeable looseness to it. Not a deal breaker but it could be a bit better.
It's surprisingly comfortable. I tried both the Triton and my Turtle on back to back. Triton was easily more comfy. So between the two, I'd go with the Triton.
I own both the Kamasu and the Triton and I'm loving them, both came this week. These are my first automatic watches so I'm new to this. Kamasu is more practical as daily driver, but the Triton has more punch. As an ideea, I'm coming from a chrono Irony Swatch, which served me for more than 11 years, daily, and still going. First I wanted only the Triton, but then I had a good deal on the Kamasu, thought about returning one of them but I will keep them both. Only slight regret : both are blue, so maybe I should have shoped for a burgundy Kamasu, but I'l live with that. Nice review.
Thanks for the video Shane. I just ordered my own Triton. I opted for the black one since I already have a blue diver which I don't want to replace. I am so excited to receive it. I have been eyeing it for a long time.
I ordered one of these a few days ago to wear instead of my father's 1959 Rolex GMT Master. When I found out how valuable it is I can't justify it for daily wear. Had to go with another automatic and this will do nicely. Great video too.
Hope you will like. It's a little big but a great watch. I understand about the GMT Master. Even if i wanted to start getting into luxury watches I'm not sure I'd be comfortable walking around with 10k on my wrist. I'm not trying to impress anyone and I'd just be babying it too much to enjoy it.
Hopefully, you can find one. Otherwise you either have to with the new Tritons (which lack the power reserve), or the Orient Star Divers (which has a totally different style) to get something similar.
I love this watch. It's great to wear, keeps time well and its blue is quite overwhelming. You should mention the included divers extension in the strap. Not every diver comes with that gimmick.
I honestly didn't even notice it when I did the review. Not until someone else pointed it out. Since then I have noticed it on a few other Seikos and another Orient.
Very nice review of what appears to be an attractive, well designed diver watch. One thing in particular I like about your reviews is the level of detail you provide in your commentary. For example, you don’t just say you ‘like’ a watch, rather; you always mention the features you enjoy the most about the watch, which helps me fully understand the pros, and when applicable, the cons regarding the watch. In summary, keep on doing the great work you are doing. It’s much appreciated...Ed
Having picked up the Kamasu recently after researching for a friend and older video of yours. I picked it up for me. I've a new found respect for Orient. Great video again. I agree with the bracelets as I prefer the safety of a Nato. I feel the Kamasu won't be my last Orient.
@@RelativeTime The red/burgundy/black one depending how you look at it. As for colour Nato's. It goes with loads of different ones. Currently on a Maroon, Blue and Yellow nato (regimental colours). Doesn't really go but put on for Remembrance Day. Keep up the videos bud.
Thank you for a fantastic review. I'm considering this watch and always appreciate all the information I can get. I'll be checking back to see if you review other watches I'm interested in.
I have the blue Triton. It's the watch I wear to bed. Great lume. The stripe on the crown shows if the crown is screwed down. I love mine. My first automatic watch.
I really like the addition of the power reserve meter. I'd actually prefer that to some of the subdials you often see on other watches (eg 24 hour or day of the week).
Fantastic review on this amazing Orient watch . I currently own the Orient Mforce Bravo watch which was the predecessor to the Triton. The Mforce Bravo is a larger watch than the Triton but houses the same movement and a sapphire crystal as well. I’m so impressed with my Mforce Bravo that I’m definitely planning to eventually add a Triton to my collection as well. I also own a Seiko Padi Turtle and a Seiko Sumo watch . Would definitely say that Orient and Seiko are very similar and are amazing value for dollar spent .
@@1968jpy interesting. I'm curious how it would compare to the Triton. Lume is better than my turtle. Someone recently gave me their old mako usa. Im going to see if I can find a deal on a Ray ii for Black Friday. Then do a 4 way orient lume off with the Ray, Kamasu, USA, and Triton.
Relative Time yeah don’t get me wrong the lume on the Mforce Bravo is good but my Sumo and Turtle are like a torch. I have heard the lume on the Triton is as good as the Seiko watches as you and other reviewers have shown . What really impresses me about the Mforce Bravo is the three ISO ratings antimagnetic, shock resistance and 200 meters water resistance. I was a little surprised that the Triton only got a Japanese rating and not an ISO rating. I don’t think it’s a negative though because both the Mforce and Triton have the same movement with a sapphire crystal. The only watch that I do own that’s to me better than the Triton and Mforce Bravo is the Sumo. The Sumo is beyond amazing which also has the three ISO ratings with a 6R15 movement with 50 hours power reserve. The Lume on my Sumo is the best I’ve ever seen on a watch .
Beautiful footage. As for the watch itself, it needs a Strapcode's Angus Jubilee bracelet to be perfect daily diver. The fact that mine is close to 0 spds puts Triton in such configuration at the top of my list.
It's beautiful but I think I like more the red Kamasu. But the round hour indices are very desirable and I like them more than the Kamasu ones... I would buy this Triton in a red finish dial as the Kamasu without hesitation but in blue I'm not sure. The power reserve is a nice detail, I have a pocket watch from Orient with this complication, and it's useful.
I have had my blue Triton for about 9 months and found everything you said to be right on point. The lume is a step above any of my other watches, which is why I wear it overnight. Blue Tritons were sold out when I first wanted to buy one and decided to get a blue Ray II first. I have a 7.25 inch wrist so the larger size of the Triton over the Ray II is not really a problem for me. I plan on giving the Ray II to a friend who has a smaller wrist. If I did not have lots of other lighter watches, I could see choosing a Kamasu over the Triton or the Ray II/Mako II, however I really like having the power reserve meter. In fact, I do not think I will be buying any more automatics without one. I have an Orient Star GMT (DJ00002W) which is very nice. I would like to see you do a review of the Orient Star World Time.
I wish more watches had a power reserve indicator. World time might be one to pick up. Otherwise, I haven't done a dress watch in a while, so that could be one too. Also very curious about the new explorer looking one.
I think this watch is more of a spiritual descendant of the Seiko SKX than yhe new 5KXs... Why, well overall the SKX was a tool watch that becomes an Iconic watch but a tool watch after all. This Orient Neptune is just like captures true sense of the SKX: being a No-nonsense tool watch for the job and maybe being presentable enough after doing the job. Nice video and as always, great lumepses 📹😎👍
Surprised to see the lume on this guy. Looks like a really solid diver all around. Japanese Amazon has it for a little over $300, got it sitting on my wish list right now...
This video comes right on time. I ordered my Triton about 3 weeks ago from jomashop for $325 and it arrived yesterday evening. So far I love it but I agree with you that the second hand should be red like my Blue-ray II. I also wish they had the Orient logo in applied metal instead of printed. The only other thing I would have liked to have would be the O ring on the crown was in blue to match the dial color but those are just knit picks. Thank you for this video.
@@mariog7213 It's reputable. The thing is it's what's considered a Grey Market seller. As in they are not an Authorized Dealer(AD). Which is how they are able to discount the watch. ADs are not allowed to discount unless the brand tells them too. The downside is that most brands won't honor a warranty unless you buy from an AD. Jomma has their own warranty and say they will repair things, but I've never taken them up on it. So it's up to you if you think it's worth the risk. Personally I think it depends on the watch.
Orient Triton offers same quality level of Sumo for less than Sumo price. It has an Orient Star movement 40n5a ticking inside, and the lume is indisputably better than any Swiss diver i've personally worn so far in mid-price range. Both Tritons and M-Force divers are built like tanks.
Perfect video, with all details. Very good work! I have the blue Triton at home now. It is a wonderful watch. Even more for that price.I am only little bit worry about the bezel inlay. I think the fact that the blue bezel inlay is higher like the glass, its perfect to catch scratches. How your experience about that issue? Maybe the sapphire inlay from longinslandwatch should solve this little problem, which i see.
Unfortunately I sold mine, but it's one I've been regretting. Although I might have to get another one soon as I've heard rumors Orient might discontinue the Triton. Supposedly Oreint wan'ts to make the power reserve a feature only available in Orient Star models. Although it's just a rumor right now.
I own the green dial and black PVD Orient Star "Sports" watch you have above. I bought it in Osaka on the day of its release. A Hell of a watch. Definitely worth your time to pick up for a review.
Good to know. I like it, but torn between that and the traska summiter. Mind if I ask how much it was in Osaka? I've seen a wide range of prices on it.
It could be. Although you can see it just as easily when the crown is screwed in or out. On a separate note, you got me wondering if they left that rubber o-ring on the new replacement version. I'll have to double check.
@@RelativeTime I've been told by my WUS experts it's definitely to allow a quick visual to see if the crowns screwed down! Normally they are colored like Seikos Red of on my ISO Citizen its Yellow. Cheers
Thank you for a great review. This one has fallen off my radar...but you put it right back. With my larger wrists I think this just might a good addition to my collection. Thank you :)
Diver's 200M isn't a higher spec than 200M; it's just that one has been submitted for testing and has passed, while the other hasn't necessarily been submitted, saving expense to stay within a price point. Plain old 200M is very likely the same spec in terms of build quality as Diver's 200M.
For the most part. Although if you look at the requirements in testing, one of them is "Immersion of the watch in water under 125% of the rated pressure" So even though it's rated for 200, it's actually been tested at 250. That said, I think a lot of people put too much emphasis on a "Divers" rating. It's nice sense of security to know that the particular watch you have has been tested. But a lot of enthusiast fail to realize that if they have ever opened the caseback to regulate or mod their watch. That rating no longer means anything.
@@RelativeTime So true. I would imagine watch companies can somehow detect that the case back has been off, and there go your immersion rating and your warranty. But most people will take off the watch to wash dishes, so that immersion rating is moot anyway.
I'm not sure if any orient has a hi beat movement right now. Even the current Orient Star watches are 21600, but they have a 50hr power reserve. So sort of like the Seiko 6r.
I’m thinking of doing away with my other orients to get this one. I started out all about orient when I was starting my collection, but I never wear them anymore. I hate the tiny crown on the lower models than this one. Maybe this will refresh my orient love.
I'm going to have to buy this watch just to wind it up to get it out of the red then as I wear it and check the time I'll check the power reserve indicator as well. BTW this is more of a continuation of the M-Force cause the OSD was 4x this price.
Relative Time AFAIK the Triton replaced the M-Force and it's a more tasteful line IMO. I always thought the OSD was overpriced, $1.2K can buy a helluva watch or 2.
I’m a sucker for day/date and this kinda puts it out of my radar but only as an everyday watch, I may still consider it for my collection though. I have 8 inch wrists so the size works for me, but definitely this would have been much more successful in a smaller size, like 40mm. Great video !
I bought myself such for $ 460, quite a decent watch for everyday smart-casual-heavy, with a convenient indicator-arrow of the watch charge, a pleasant blue color. Although initially looking towards black. One of the downsides in my opinion is the size. That would be a little more. Even on a small hand, they look small. The watch dial is very small -30 mm. My seven-year-old Seiko SNAE87P1 also has a bezel diameter of 42mm, but due to the larger size of the dial, it is 3-4mm larger and seems more massive on the wrist. In all reviews of such watches, showing a watch close up is very difficult to imagine their size, and when showing on a hand the viewer does not understand their size - because everyone's hands are different. For example, fishermen usually show the fish and put a pack of cigarettes, but with a watch, a box of matches or something standard thread would probably come in handy).
That's an interesting suggestion. One of the hardest things about buying watches online is imagining them on your wrist. Which is why even experienced collectors often buy one just to sell it after they try it on. It's a very personal thing and sometimes it's hard to convey or learn by looking at pictures of a video. Which is one of the things a lot of reviewers try to do is focus on the measurements of the watch. Width, thickness, and lug to lug being the most important. Yet if your not familar with which dimensions you like, it's not going to help you.
@@RelativeTimeI'm hoping it is the new triton. I have the original and it's held up amazing as an every day watch. I'm a machinist so it gets bumped around quite a bit. I looked in eBay and these watches are going for $800 now since they stopped making them
I love the look of them, and thought about one in the past. Right now I have a Deneb Tristar coming for my next Orient, but I might look at the Heritage after that.
I thoroughly enjoyed your review (while wearing my own Trition)! You definitely hit all of the points that make it stand out as an SKX evolution and it's a very good watch for the price, especially if you can find it on sale. I managed to get mine for under $200 USD, and at that price it's a ridiculous deal and I can forgive the "cons" of the watch (mainly the bracelet).
The only problem i have is the clunky bezel which should have been a 60 click since it stumbles over half clicks and doesn't really lock in like my skx007 or captain willard. Other than that i agree with everything else u said. Just wish the date window was larger and the name triton should have prompted the designers to emboss or print, Neptune and his three pronged spear on the watch face or caseback or something.
I’ll see what I can do. From what I understand it’s the Tritons replacement. Rumor was The triton has been or will be shortly discontinued. Something about the power meter is going to be exclusive to the orient Star line. So supposedly the AC0K is basically the triton mi us that power reserve and the “divers 200m” rating.
@@RelativeTime While I do love the Triton, I did not pull the trigger, due to the colorways. Not the AC0K either, better colorways but too many spec compromises. At the end, I pulled the trigger on PADI Monster. I am disappointed on the direction for the power reserve. Even the new M-Force don't have the power reserve. So I am eyeing the older M-Force now. ;)
I want a full lume one lol. I am waiting for the vostok se to be back in stock but the mako xl looks great as well. Love the reserve indicator on this .
Hello I’ve been enjoying your videos of late and I’m enjoying them very much. Can I ask what what you are wearing while filming this review? I love red dial watches and the one you are wearing looks very nice. Thank you kindly 👍🏻
Thanks! That red one is the ill-fated Akura Wayfarer... instagram.com/p/B63tlZlHK_R/ It's a long story, but short version is that it was a Kickstarter watch. It's a dressy looking field watch with an internal compass bezel. Sort of an interesting take on the Alpinist. Even though the Kickstarter was fully funded, the owner pulled it 1/2 through. Did a short video on it about a month after that with the grey version. ruclips.net/video/nTEKp_o2sEQ/видео.html Plus a month after that the brand owner offered to sell me one of the prototypes (the red one I was wearing). Which I talk about and show off more in this video. ruclips.net/video/27dj0_x8d_M/видео.html Really great watch and one of my favorites. Hopefully he comes back around and tries again with it.
Relative Time thank you for the reply. It’s unfortunate that it can’t be purchased by people , but it’s great that you have it and enjoy it. I will continue to watch your videos with much interest, and I love how you cover watches that are more affordable and also a little bit from left field . Mate I wish you every success with with your RUclips channel . Kind regards Trent
Why nothing about chock resistant structure of Triton, like in OSD and M-Force models? I actidently dropped down my Triton to concrete floor, 1.5m. Hight. NOTHING with Caliber! Same Accurancy! Only one side of watch has scratch.
Glad you liked it. Since making this video I have heard rumors that Orient may be discontinuing the Triton. Something about wanting the Power Reserve to only be on Orient Star watches. Again it's just a rumor, but probably better to get one sooner than later.
The Triton / Neptune is an awesome watch. In retrospect only thing I would of liked would be more of a sunburst dial. However I had heard some rumors that it's going to be discontinued. Something along the lines of Orient wants the power reserve to be exclusive to the Orient Star line. Not sure it's true, but Orient Japan recently released a new watch that looks a bit like one without the power reserve. www.orient-watch.jp/product/category/item/?item_id=1583&category_id=265 So if you are interested try to get one sooner then later.
@@RelativeTime It looks like a Kamasu in a Triton's casing, even the movement they changed to something similar to Kamasu. The backcase and end link also changed to that like the Kamasu. Also, I prefer the hands' styling on Triton still and the new crown looks kind of out of place with the gaps in between. Anyway, I'm more than happy to know they continued on this casing and size, and I can expect more aftermart parts coming with it. The bezel on my unit is kind of defective right out of the box. It either get stucked/grindy or simply lose the click as I wear it. I had send my unit back for warranty 3 times in my short
Thanks. I always do, but it is a bit more work. If you are curious about how the different Orient Divers compare to each other I did that here. ruclips.net/video/ZEhEsK2DysY/видео.html
As always a top notch review and honestly, your photography is worth the view just because you have gotten so good at captivating the viewer with imagery. But Shane, buddy...you HAVE to look into doing voice work. Seriously, man; I could totally see you narrating some National Geographic special about polar bears and whatnot.
The Trition is a nice watch and a great value. It’s a much better value then any Seiko in its price range. I have seen that there is an Orient Star Diver. It looks nice, but certainly is playing it safe looking is wise. Very conventional looking. I found out there is a Swiss Watchmaker called Trition. It looks like it’s a resurrected brand, they had an interesting diver in the 1960s with a 12 o’clock crown. The model has been re-introduced. Maybe that’s why Orient is rebranding this watch.
That could be. I think this was something that happened recently. Many of the sites selling them will have Neptune in the title. Yet if you read the description it will often mention Triton.
Unfortunate for me. My Triton is out for stem and power meter repair. I love this watch. Bur last week I picked up a red Kamasu. Got a new set of bracelet and set of removal forks. What a difference from cheap ones. Was going to change out the bracelet. But took one link off each side. Reset it and the Kamasu fit like a glove. Wearing it now. Love the red color. Picked it up on sale for $180. Long Island watch was out of stock and only a few dollars cheaper. Prefer to buy from an AD unless there is a large price difference. And red is hard to find. Came in three days. I do think the Triton is superior. And for the $60 to 80 repair worth it. That has strap code bracelet. BTW got the Triton at Orient USA.
I bought two on the gray market. Both crowns broke off the stems with gentle usage. I contacted the Singapore dealer, and there were too many hoops to deal with plus shipping both ways. Contacted Orient in LA and was rudely dismissed. Threw both in the dumpster. Still have a Ray 2 and it is robust and still a favorite.
Relative Time I bought two Tritons at the same time from a Singapore dealer for a very low price. I just fell in love with the watch and it was an unbeatable price. The stems were very wiggly all along. Both times when I went to pull out the crowns to reset them, they snapped off the stem. It was a long process to return the watches to Singapore for repair. Orient USA treated me like the plague when conversing. I lost all my interest in repair and the trouble and pitched them. Besides, my Ray 2 was more accurate and evidently, a much stouter model. Don’t miss the Tritons.
The stems is a weak point as they are really thin. Mine broke but I got my watch guy to change the crown, tube and stem replace them with a far better set up and it's much better. It's now how it should of been from the factory.
I want to, but it probably won't happen until early next year. I've got some watches I've already bought in my queue that I want to get through before I buy another. Although if I happen upon a great deal for it, like say on Black Friday, I'll probably buy one. So it could happen sooner.
Yah briefly. I've been meaning to get one for a while now. I was looking at the Defender model. Yet out of the blue (pun intended), they emailed and offered to send me a Diver 1000 with the new Blue Sandstone dial. instagram.com/p/B4ATrkcHNte/
@@RelativeTime the simple cutout plus it not matching with the rest of the dial makes it seem kinda tacked on in my opinion. Wish they had no date models on most of their watches
It's about the same size, but all 3 will wear a little differently thanks to their case shape. Especially the Turtle with it's really short lug to lug.
....................................................................................... ......................Finally, the dots are back!...................... .......................................................................................
@@RelativeTime - I was indifferent. I didn't know enough to make an informed decision so it was one of those brands/models that went in and out pretty quick. But now it's a contender. :O)
Not sure why, they just decided to do a re branding. Although whats worse is that I've heard rumors they are going to discontinue the Triton. Something about making the Power Reserve feature exclusive to the Orient Star Lineup. Although so far I think it's just a rumor.
Dude, I can attest to the fact that, since I live in Arizona, ANY watch goes well here, okay?? By the way, your music is very cool. This is a fantastic watch.
Sometimes we (or at least I) overthink things. If I'm going to the beach, then I know I need a diver. Flying overseas, GMT. So I couldn't think about what you should wear in the desert. Although truth be told I only went into the desert a couple times. Most of the time I was in Scottsdale, where I could pretty much wear anything.
“Before we dive in...” Boooooo!!!! I love your channel- still waiting for you to show off your ability to speak “California dude,” as you mentioned in your first Vaer review.
In this price range the metal chains are generally quite weak, even with Seiko ... and Orient .. .. The ability to see different variants - with sat, leather or silicone on the watch is great .. In fact, the watch is very good, I liked it . Again the video is high ... Made me look at watches separately from bracelets ... very useful subscription ,,
i agree on the price ... to get it in Bulgaria it will probably exceed 2000 with taxes and transport .. i can first take the oris 65 which i also want and is at one hand distance. Even cheaper and with warranty service. I'm still hesitant about who's next .... then I'll write to Santa ... let's see...😁👍
So, in other words, and that's what I learned from you here - it's okay and would be just like any other Orient if it was not for the Power Reserve indicator.
A little more than that. The case shape is very different then Orients current line up. Otherwise it's most similar to the Mako USA with sapphire, solid end links and drilled lugs. Just larger. Most of the Orient Star watches use an F6G42 movement. I was trying to figure out what's different about it and the one the Triton uses, but couldn't find anything. Spec-wise they seem similar.
Just wanted to leave one quick note in case there still is some confusion:

Thanks for the video Shane. I just ordered my own Triton. I opted for the black one since I already have a blue diver which I don't want to replace. I am so excited to receive it. I have been eyeing it for a long time.
Hope you enjoy it. It’s a great watch.
Impressive review. Such a pity they were discontinued. Still planning to find a second hand Triton to add to the collection...
Hopefully, you can find one. Otherwise you either have to with the new Tritons (which lack the power reserve), or the Orient Star Divers (which has a totally different style) to get something similar.
I appreciate the editing/production value... I think I’m using those right. I also like how you show several straps with the watch.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. Takes a bit more work, but I think it helps show each watch in a different light.
Kamasu is great. My burgundy one surprisingly goes with a lot of different straps. Which one did you get?
@@RelativeTime The red/burgundy/black one depending how you look at it. As for colour Nato's. It goes with loads of different ones. Currently on a Maroon, Blue and Yellow nato (regimental colours). Doesn't really go but put on for Remembrance Day. Keep up the videos bud.
Thank you for a fantastic review. I'm considering this watch and always appreciate all the information I can get. I'll be checking back to see if you review other watches I'm interested in.
Love your macro shots and close ups !
Thank you!
Its one of the best features to have, especially if your juggling a couple different watches through out the weak.
How is the lume on the Mforce Bravo?
Relative Time honestly it’s good but not great . Not nearly as good as my Sumo or turtle 🐢
I might have to get one of those. Although might get it for the kamasu.
I’ve got the same watch and have to say I love it hard watch not to like when it’s off the bracelet
Just has a really great look to it.
If they made this in red, or put a power reserve on a red kamasu, I would buy it in a second.
Thanks! That is a great way to describe it.
Surprised to see the lume on this guy. Looks like a really solid diver all around. Japanese Amazon has it for a little over $300, got it sitting on my wish list right now...
There is a chance I'll get an mako USA soon. IN which case I might have to do a full lume off of the Kamus, Mako USA, and Trtiton.
Merry Christmas everyone 🎄🎄🎄
Merry Christmas!
Glad you enjoyed it.
I didn't even think about the O-ring color. Blue would be good.
Is jomashop a reputable site? Sometimes prices are so good that I feel it’s a scam
@@mariog7213 yes they are.
william Rizzo good to know. Thanks for you reply
Why would anyone buy a $500 prosplex after that ?
I own the green dial and black PVD Orient Star "Sports" watch you have above. I bought it in Osaka on the day of its release. A Hell of a watch. Definitely worth your time to pick up for a review.
Good to know. I like it, but torn between that and the traska summiter.
Mind if I ask how much it was in Osaka? I've seen a wide range of prices on it.
The rubber o ring on the crown it to let you know if the crown is screwed in or not!
Cheers
@@RelativeTime Did you ever find out?
@@NathanChisholm041 no I never did.
@@RelativeTime Ok no problems
Thank you for a great review. This one has fallen off my radar...but you put it right back. With my larger wrists I think this just might a good addition to my collection. Thank you :)
Glad to help, and glad you enjoyed it.
The bezel scratches easy - beware. On the plus side the bracelet allows the watch to lay down flat on the table.
My favorite watch in the collection drop dead gorgeous with the matching Oyster trapering stapcode bracelet with end lugs
I'm debating getting one of the strapcode bracelets.
Your time lapse lume test is excellent.
Thanks!
But most people will take off the watch to wash dishes, so that immersion rating is moot anyway.
chunky and great design. i love power reserve meters and good lume. no 9100 hi beat movement, but this one certainly fine....
Do they still make any of the M-Force? The OSD seems / seemed like a good watch, but hard to justify the price when you can buy the Triton.
A dealer advised me he had a number of Tritons returned with broken crowns very recently. That made my decision.. I purchased a Lorier Neptune V3 🔱😎👍
The new Triton's? They discontinued these a year or so ago only to replace them with one that looks similar but lacks the power reserve.
@@RelativeTimeI'm hoping it is the new triton. I have the original and it's held up amazing as an every day watch. I'm a machinist so it gets bumped around quite a bit. I looked in eBay and these watches are going for $800 now since they stopped making them
@@FordMustangGTRocks I'm pretty sure it is. Crazy how much the price has jumped on these
Can you please review the Orient Star Heritage Gothic? I think it's an underrated watch from their Classic line
Thank you! Under $200? Holy crap! That's a ridiculously good price. Was it new or used?
@@RelativeTime New! It was an offer I simply couldn't refuse. It's now my standard bearer for dive watches in terms of value.
Cool. Could you compare it to their new watch, the AC0K series?
Yah it's too bad they didn't make a fully lumed version, like with the Mako.

It's a long story, but short version is that it was a Kickstarter watch. It's a dressy looking field watch with an internal compass bezel. Sort of an interesting take on the Alpinist. Even though the Kickstarter was fully funded, the owner pulled it 1/2 through. Did a short video on it about a month after that with the grey version.

Plus a month after that the brand owner offered to sell me one of the prototypes (the red one I was wearing). Which I talk about and show off more in this video.

Awesome and just another perfect review as always Shane! Thank you for what you do

Love your reviews. Would be really interested to see the new Orient Star Sports Diver line.
Thanks. The Star divers look pretty good.
Why nothing about chock resistant structure of Triton, like in OSD and M-Force models?
I actidently dropped down my Triton to concrete floor, 1.5m. Hight. NOTHING with Caliber! Same Accurancy! Only one side of watch has scratch.
the bezel on my trident/neptune is very hard to turn. have you noticed this?
I've been wanting a triton for quite awhile now. I just love it. It's just not in my budget. Thanx for reviewing it! Now I KNOW I really want one!
Excellent review. I was on the fence with this one prior to watching. Not anymore!
Glad you liked it. Since making this video I have heard rumors that Orient may be discontinuing the Triton. Something about wanting the Power Reserve to only be on Orient Star watches.
Again it's just a rumor, but probably better to get one sooner than later.
@@RelativeTime Great tip! Thanks for letting me know.
Enjoyed this review i am having a hard look at buying this watch it will be my first Orient Diver's watch !

So if you are interested try to get one sooner then later.

But then I wouldn't have any time for watch videos. 😎
Please do a collection update
I was planing to do one end of summer, but time just got away from me. I'm going to try and get one put together soon.
Did you buy 2 Triton's or 2 Kamasus that the crown broke off?
Just a very good looking watch from a good maker
Orient just came out with the 2nd generation Defender. Think you’ll review?
I want to, but it probably won't happen until early next year. I've got some watches I've already bought in my queue that I want to get through before I buy another.
Although if I happen upon a great deal for it, like say on Black Friday, I'll probably buy one. So it could happen sooner.
Replete concisely done review Sir, and all said and done, what more do you want? 👍 Tam.

Does anyone know the winder settings for this movement i.e. winder direction, TPD, etc...?!?
Could be wrong but I think it's bi directional like Seiko.
Great review Shane! This one says diver's 200m does that mean it's ISO certified?
Yes it Is. I think it might be the only orient that is.
Is that a Deep Blue I spotted??? Finally some attention for Deep Blue!
Yah briefly. I've been meaning to get one for a while now. I was looking at the Defender model. Yet out of the blue (pun intended), they emailed and offered to send me a Diver 1000 with the new Blue Sandstone dial.

I think the kamasu would be better. I wish it had drilled lugs, but otherwise very comfortable, looks great, and good lume.
Always an useful complication.

It’s all good, thanks man. There are some fantastic watch retailers in Scottsdale by the way. Hope you had a great time.
Triton unbeatable! They had to change the name for legal reasons
I'm curious as to why. Funny thing is most of the sites selling them have the title as Neptune, but they still left Triton in the description.
Christopher Ward Triton would be my guess. They likely have a trademark for the Triton name. But I’m just guessing.
I like it but to big for me I will stick to my ray/mako/kamasu 😁
If they made a Kamasu with a power reserve, I'd buy it in a second.
Yes, a proper scissor clasp and screw links should be in order for that price. That watch would then give similar micro brands a run for their money.

The Calamity is gorgeous, but the price makes me hesitate. Although I really love the burgundy looking Hellcat that's coming.
i agree on the price ... to get it in Bulgaria it will probably exceed 2000 with taxes and transport .. i can first take the oris 65 which i also want and is at one hand distance.
