Ive got Omega seamaster, Oris Aquis and lots of Seiko divers and recently, a month ago or such, I bought this, the Triton (black dial)... For some reason its becoming my go to watch/beater, I absolutely love this watch, it looks perfect, feels perfect and is currently my favorite watch to wear, the lumen is incredible, the powermeter is great.. - I think Orient did a home run with this watch, potentially SKX legend worthy - I love it! Only thing I would point at if Orient was to improve something, it would be the bracelet, its not at the same level at the watch -not that its too bad but, the watch just screams quality and in my opinion, its on par with much, much more expensive watches, the bracelet not as much .. Edit: Ceramic bezel would be nice too... I would easily pay $100-200 more if it had a nicer bracelet and ceramic bezel - For some reason this watch just appeals SOO much to me...
i agree mate...a ceramic bezel and better bracelet would have been ideal :) perhaps AB would do a follow-up review of different after-market straps and bracelets that would look good on this watch :)
Just purchased the RA-EL0003L black dial with gold accents. I live and breathe divers...this watch is unquestionably the best bang for the buck at the moment. Definitely a huge step up from either the Mako or Ray. It is also better than either a SKX, Monster or Turtle. Do not have a Sumo but would not be surprised if this watch out classes it. I wouldn't worry about the size. Just buy it...you will not regret.
What a handsome watch. It's nice to see that the bezel isn't a booger like the Mako series. I'm really fighting the urge to purchase one; the blue is absolutely gorgeous.
@@silverghost4206 No, received the watch long ago (its been almost 2 years or so, according to youtube?). Love it 🙂 Punches well above its weight in regards to what you get for the money!
This watch wears much smaller than the dimensions would suggest. The blue dial is quite beautiful. Also, the bezel action is way better than any SKX I've ever owned. This Orient punches way higher than its price. This is an impressive piece !!
I have the 2 tone gold. And I absolutely love this watch! Well after I changed out the factor strap, to a strapcode gold 2 tone strap. I also just recently changed the bezel insert to a lumped sapphire insert. Its beautiful, well made. When I tested the time accuracy is roughly -7 sec a week.
Definitely one of the best new Orient releases and a handsome watch. Would love to see more color options, probably later down the line if this is successful, and I can't see why it wouldn't be. Not going to lie, I do find their other recent release, the Small Seconds Bambino a nice looking watch as well. Thanks for a closer look at this new Triton.
Just received my blue Orient Triton 🧜♂️ watch today and wow 🤩 what a watch . Very impressed and happy with this watch . I paid under $400 and for price paid what a value 😀💙👍🏻
I have a Mako XL which I love and very much interested in the blue Triton. I think I'm warming up to the power reserve meter. It's a usual feature if you don't wear your watch every day and want to see if it needs a few hand winds. The royal blue is exactly what I want. Great review and thank you.
Just ordered this watch this morning ( blue ) and can’t wait till it arrives which should be Sunday. Last year I almost bought this Triton watch but bought and Orient Mforce Bravo watch instead in the orange dial for only $299 . Couldn’t pass up that price but the Orient Triton has been on my mind and have been craving it lol 😂. Can’t wait till Sunday and sizing it and putting on the wrist. If it’s anything like my Mforce Bravo watch I know I’m going to love it 👍🏻
Orient Star should make a new Diver Watch...Ceramic Bezel, Sapphire Glass with AR Coating, 40mm Diameter Case, 13mm Thickness, JIS Class 1 Diver 200m, Power Reserve, Auto & Hand Winding.
bought this watch about 6 days ago and am wearing it right now. i like it. just right for a 7" wrist. so many features you can't find on a watch worth 320 u.s.d.: sapphire crystal, signed crown, power reserve indicator, perfect bezel alignment (lol) and most of all, made in japan.
Bought this in europe fro around $3-400 as well... Love this watch, its just sooo good, everything in the watch/watch case has perfect dimension, compared to more expensive watches, it feel on par, no cheap watch feels or looks... The only things I would change to make it perfect, would be ceramic bezel and better bracelet, the it would be absolutely perfect in my opinion!
very good review! this one is tough to find in the blue, but i found a black with the gold bezel, which i may be ok with, but it was not a first choice--no reviews of the black and gold that i have found on youtube. saw your review with the strapcode and will probably have to have, even though stock bracelet doesn't look too bad....
Gonna have to get one kf these now. I've been so happy with my Mako 2 and this one comes with more bells and whistles that it doesn't make sense not to have one.
Great review as usual. I love this piece. The only things I would change are to make the second hand red tipped like the Ray and make the case smaller around 41mm. I’m guessing this will be too big to wear on my 6.5” wrist. The way the first link sits inside the solid end link will make it wear a bit shorter than it’s lug to length suggests. The blue is gorgeous and along with the blue dial and hand set carries on the typical Orient Watch DNA. I actually like the power reserve as it’s a unique complication on a Dive watch. The bracelet looks pretty good (I usually have no problem with a Seiko bracelets) and the sapphire with inner AR coating is awesome. I hope Orient sends some of these over to Seiko so that they start properly aligning their dials and putting in sapphire crystals on their Divers.
Hey there! I have been looking at divers in this price range and was originally thinking about going with the seiko sumo but after looking at the specs and other reviews I really dont think this one can be beat for the price. Dont get me wrong I am a big fan of seiko. I actually purchased a seiko sary079 cocktail time which is a beautiful piece but not something i wear all the time being it is a dress watch. I wanted something that was automatic, at least 200m water resistant on a bracelet that has outstanding lume capabilities. I really think the triton might be the one! Great vid and take care!
I think the power gauge looks fine and original where it is. it stands out as a nice touch. I have to agree with some people commenting on the quality of the bracelet which could have been better and I am sure that most people would splash out some more cash for a better one, no problem.
I hope that the Mako/Ray III take some queues from the Triton. Looks like a fantastic watch, but a little big for my taste. Although, I realize the size will appeal to a LOT of people. The features I hope make it to the Mako/Ray are: 1) Larger diameter crown 2) Grippy bezel 3) Drilled lugs Thanks for the review, as always! You produce some of the best reviews on YT.
I think Orient makes really great watches for the price point and this one is no exception. I am strongly considering purchasing this one. I already own a couple of Ray II's and Mako II's but this one is really cool. I have a large collection and one of the reasons I have so many watches is that I put custom picked straps on all of them. I love Colareb and other leather vintage looking straps, and each watch in my collection has a different type of strap so when I get ready to head out for the day I have loads of choices not only of watches, but of differing straps. I am thinking this Triton in a black dial version with a Crafter Blue universal model black rubber strap would look awesome.
tynan nida actually Bruce Williams recently did a comparison review of the Triton and Sumo. You should check it out great video. I own the Seiko Blumo and a Orient Mforce Bravo I just ordered the blue Triton today should have by Sunday, can’t wait lol 👍🏻
They need to make this watch a staple in their offerings, for the money this watch is exceptional. If orient came out with an orange dial Triton I might have to buy a 2nd one.
I think I’m zeroing in on a black dial one of these. After consider the Ray 2 and some Seiko and Steinhart models, I think the better specs, unique layout, and value is going to lead me to buying this in a month or so. Anyone know where to get one for a good deal??
Love this watch, we need seiko divers with sapphire... I'll buy this possibly before I buy my samurai because I'd rather have the sapphire for less money than the samurai with the hardlex. Oh and not to mention seiko and their fucking quality control issues. Misaligned chapter ring on a $500 msrp watch?? Insane.
I've got the Mako 2, which is a great watch. I really like this new Triton, but I'm back and forth on the power meter; it may be cheesy., but I'm not sure. I know from my experience with the Mako 2 that a power meter is pretty much unnecessary. The meter isn't enough to put me off if buying it though
The powermeter looks a bit too much in the video and on pictures but in real life, it looks perfect, its currently my favorite watch in my collection of much, much more expensive watches and watches in the same -or lower category - its kinda have a SKX feel over it, just much better quality and, in my opinion, better looks. I bought the black dial one btw.
I was surprised by the wobble with the stem. The first time it used it. As long as you stay attentive while using it not an worry. If it wasn't a screw down crown, I would have another opinion.
In my case, approx. 4 spd+. When worn for longer period, it performs much better, around 0 spd. I reckon the dial up position is where my Triton speeds up.
Average Bros Seiko Watch Corp., a subsidiary of Seiko Holdings Corp., markets SEIKO watches while Seiko Instruments Inc. and Seiko Epson Corp. manufacture their movements.
interesting comment, that is the feature I like about it, the little black ring, but I would get the black dial version. its all a matter of personal taste!
Rob Jones , I like it because it has a Gerard Perregaux seahawk look and feel to it. They place the date at 2oclk instead of 4oclk and power reserve at 6.

I've been looking for a ceramic bezel to slap on this watch. Then it would be PERFECT!
Dad Dy same here. I simply love it !
What’s the accuracy with the movt?
Dad Dy do you still wear this watch?

thanks for that, the black and gold was the only one i could find at a good price. glad to hear you like it, hope i will too!
What a handsome watch. It's nice to see that the bezel isn't a booger like the Mako series. I'm really fighting the urge to purchase one; the blue is absolutely gorgeous.
I love the looks of this watch - I pulled the trigger and ordered the black one... Uh the waiting is killing me!

Orient is very hard to find in Europe...
thanks, it would be great to compare it with the orient saturation diver....i only worry about the bezel back play.
I think they do share some of the stamped clasps. Check out samurai clasp vs new orient day/date king diver clasp.
The value from Orient can't be beaten if you want an automatic watch. Really great quality for your money.
Orient is part of the Seiko group.
Your videos are the only ones with light transitions. Great idea.
Just got this today its such an awesome watch but tricky when sizing the bracelet it wears comfortable when wearing power reserve always at 40.
Just received my blue Orient Triton 🧜♂️ watch today and wow 🤩 what a watch . Very impressed and happy with this watch . I paid under $400 and for price paid what a value 😀💙👍🏻

Wow, they did a great job here. That case back looks so much better than standard Orient watches!
For me it's an actual daily wearable Orient saturation diver.
bought this watch about 6 days ago and am wearing it right now. i like it. just right for a 7" wrist. so many features you can't find on a watch worth 320 u.s.d.: sapphire crystal, signed crown, power reserve indicator, perfect bezel alignment (lol) and most of all, made in japan.

In the Philippines mate

Nice. From the looks of it this has solved the only really annoying aspect of the Mako 2, which is the slightly too small crown.

I love the black one , buts its face is visually very similar to my Seiko BFK...

The power reserve is so cool.
Thats why i own one
What i love about Orient watches is the name "Orient". Kind of sounds really eastern and exotic.
That it is a Japanese brand might give "Orient" away ;)
The gold one IS AMAZING.
I prefer the blue but the gold is a beaut
I love it! Very Gerard Perregaux seahawk-ish!!! Also GP seahawk has the crown at same position like this watch and the skx.
Very beautiful but sadly too big for me with the 52mm lug to lug.
Perfect review! Thank you a lot ;-)
Great looking piece for sure. Any rotor noise on this one? I've got a Chicane and a Bambino and both have substantial rotor noise.
Awesome review and i got same triton 🔱 blue... damn gorgeous indeed
Anyone know of a ceramic bezel insert that will fit the Triton? id like to keep the original bezel.
Love this watch, we need seiko divers with sapphire... I'll buy this possibly before I buy my samurai because I'd rather have the sapphire for less money than the samurai with the hardlex.

Are there any steel after market bracelet options for this model like the oyster or endmill bracelet type options?
Stapcode or miltat......Jubilee, and oyster styles.
Can you review the Citizen NY0070-83L?
Are these watches sharing parts with Seiko? Are the Chinese parts Seiko has inside their watches made by the same Chinese supplier/ manufacturer?

Damn why so big?? I love the Orient 300 also. But the same issue for me. Such a great looking watch.
It is smaller in person
Is it worth buying this orient watch?? What’s the daily accuracy of the watch and can they fit in small wrist??
I’m torn between this and the Orient star diver that has 10 more hours power reserve and a slightly more dressy look... for $40 more.
Got one in today, will be shooting a review soon, stay tuned
Average Bros Can’t wait... though I’ll have to! Sounds good
It’s a beauty!
Dude thats awesome!
If Orient is listening, can they please please put a pepsi bezel on this! I would 100% buy this in a pepsi bezel. Great vid btw 😊
right!
Similar size and design to the Seiko BFK
The only thing missing is a machined clasp.
I am having a hard time finding this watch at the 320 price point. Please let me know where I can go to find this great looking watch.
Because there are none... The discounted prices went up, so the supply to demand ratio must have changed.
I find an average 360 price point
do you think that the triton bracelet fits the orient ray 2?
The stem on those seem to have a lot of wobble, how do they hold up?
propblast82nd
that is probably my biggest gripe about the watch. That and the stamped parts of the bracelet.
@@twstrchasr From what I see that's a thing with the brand but a hell of a watch for the money absolutely.
I was surprised by the wobble with the stem. The first time it used it. As long as you stay attentive while using it not an worry. If it wasn't a screw down crown, I would have another opinion.
Very hard to find here in Northern Europe. Sad.

Movement accuracy? Thanks.
In my case, approx. 4 spd+. When worn for longer period, it performs much better, around 0 spd. I reckon the dial up position is where my Triton speeds up.
Where are you guys buying this for 300+$???

I wish the crown was different, without that rubber part and more knurling like on seiko watches or the pepsi triton

Nice. Picked up the sbdc053 instead with a bracelet.
Great review as ever. It's a lovely watch but I think the black gasket on the crown spoils it a little.
interesting comment, that is the feature I like about it, the little black ring, but I would get the black dial version. its all a matter of personal taste!
Like the watch a lot - except - the power indictator location and size looks like an afterthought. Too distracting.
Rob Jones , I like it because it has a Gerard Perregaux seahawk look and feel to it. They place the date at 2oclk instead of 4oclk and power reserve at 6.
Very nice, but just another generic diver- unlike the far more stylish Turtle. Good review, Cheers 👍
Seiko owns Epson. Epson owns Orient. Seiko does not own Orient.
ഉള്ളതാണോ സായിപ്പേ
the power reserve & the date really ruin the symmetry of the dial
OMG. Stop.
