Pantera reminds me more of a Henry Rollins band or some crap, far from metal to me, sounds to flat and boring, megadeth is probably one of the most overrated thrash bands too, and don't get me started on Lars and that piece of shits pitiful excuse for drumming. Mercyful fate, dio, Judas priest, UFO, Tank, diamond head, now there's metal royalty. As much as I give those others you named props for their time and career, they're boring as hell, aside from Death, leprosy and scream bloody gore are classic.

In my opinion, I think Draimans vocals are to advanced for this song , n what I mean is Phil sings with his Gut , n Dave sings with his head , Phil is ' Get into the pit ' , while Dave is jump off a platform 20ft in the air, if that makes sense , Love both, but nobody will ever beat Phil's voice

I grew up around Darrell and Vinnie and circle of friends during their early days. I knew their talent would take them far, along with dedication. And, it did with creating Pantera. May Darrell and Vinnie RIP. This performance of their song, walk would have them looking down with a big smile with gratitude greatly done ❤🤘😎🎵💯

There's this whole paranoia in the guitar community of "oh i better not copy their exact solo or people will think im a fraud" - like no ... bro Dime would love to hear his legacy carried on ... the crowd would enjoy it... you dont see drummers refusing to copy drum parts lol. its always weird. When i listen to a pantera cover i can't help but miss the groove. Is it just me? What the fuck did Dimebag do to his guitar? Why can't anyone compare to his groove? This is definitely better than most covers i've heard tho.
It's easy to hit the same notes Dime did, it is not easy to make it sound the way he did. As for what did he do to his guitar, it was just his style, man. The way a person picks / palm mutes plays a big role in how things sound. That on top of him throwing light bends in strange places. I've learned quite a few of his riffs / songs over the years and you really have to get use to how he plays to make it sound right.

sure i know what you mean, but in this case it really is obvious that somethings wrong with the guitar. Like there is something missing. Obviously no other band can generate the energy that pantera generates. A lot of that is credited to Phil as well. His energy is insane - it just reaches you even through a tiny screen on youtube, one could only imagine how awesome pantera felt live (except you were there). The Drums carry the tune as well but i think it's a little easier to play drums like vinnie paul than it is to play guitar like Dimebag. And well that one member that people (myself included unfortunately) Rex Brown is an amazing bass player but even here. While Brown is great, the bass worked for me in this cover. It really is Guitar and Vocals...And mostly the guitar.
I was there. What you're seeing is the seated area in the front part of the stadium.. where everyone was more calm. What you're not seeing is the massive lawn area behind it where everyone was rocking the fuck out. That's where the pit was.. and let me tell you, it was a big one. This video is pretty misleading in terms of the crowd

Happens mate, I mean, I used to play Paying with Firs by Metallica (the Solo) as a warm up and just a few days back I fucked it up on stage. Besides, he played the notes correctly (majority of them), the rig just wasn't set up to play that solo. If that makes sense 😊

What you're not seeing is the massive lawn area behind it where everyone was rocking the fuck out. That's where the pit was.. and let me tell you, it was a big one. Happens mate, I mean, I used to play Paying with Firs by Metallica (the Solo) as a warm up and just a few days back I fucked it up on stage. Besides, he played the notes correctly (majority of them), the rig just wasn't set up to play that solo. If that makes sense 😊
