You can use a toothpick to push the date change. Using wood won’t be able to scratch the steel case.
I laughed out loud at this. It’s a list of pretty reasonable complaints to keep in mind, and it ends with buying two of them. Watch collecting in a nutshell.
I'm a vintage collector.
I can confirm that we vintage collectors are even more crazy
Lol 😂 , last part genius 🎉
no reason to buy this over bulova lunar pilot, esp for double the price
@@user-tx4wj7qk4t get your eyes checked. How are the two in any way similar asides from them being chronos?
@@Isaac-bk4we you're right the lunar pilot looks a lot better. Should've said a $200 Sugess. Hamilton is great at making budget watches with tons of problems and lack of AR at 5x their worth. That's why they have to ignore Mido and alpina in the West to not cannibalize the brands
The toothpick is mightier than the pen in this case
Or a pencil
It's beautiful! Buying another one was the right decision!! 😅
Hahaha. Does that mean I should buy another another one? 😁😁
@@ChronometerCheck if you are thinking to give me that then you can 😅😁
You could use a wooden or plastic toothpick to change the date without risking scratching it. 😁
Definitely. I just usually don't have one handy on me unless I'm home
Pro tip ! ;D
Nice video, Appreciate you also naming some things you don’t like about it. Still looks stunning on your wrist🙏
Thanks! I think it's important to look at both the pros and cons. And also still understand that even if there are some issues, sometimes they're worth overlooking if the watch is perfect for you.
The thickness is a bit better on the manual wound version, but then agreed with the date change. It's due to the valjoux 7750 movement architecture that's a native 12-9-6 layout being converted to 9-6-3 layout or bicompax layout, causing lack of room for the date adjustment on top of the keyless mechanism due to it being replaced with minute counter wheels at 3 o'clock. Not only this Hamilton, but as well happens tissot prx chrono, Longines master bicompax chrono, heritage 1967, heritage avigation, heritage pulsometer, heritage monopusher, Speedmaster reduced 3330, seamaster chronograph 3330 or any watches that have base movement 7753.
Very interesting, thank you!! Great insight
Thank, great info. And accurate screen name.
Getting the exact same one with the same bracelet at the end of the year.
We're gonna be twinning and it's gonna be awesome
@@ChronometerCheck will be my third Hamilton. Got the Khaki Field Automatic & Jazz Master open heart.
Finally purchased the watch on the leather strap for 1460 $ I guess its a pretty good deal for a brand new watch.
I just bought this watch and I am close to buying the blue dial version as well. The date pusher is easy to handle - a toothpick does the job easily. For me it has the right size and it neither feels chunky nor imbalanced on my wrist. Maybe because I trained with two Russian chronographs of similar dimension. If you are patient, you can easily buy these watches second hand in good condition for 1.400 US-Dollar. In the US they are a little bit cheaper than in Western Europe, although they are produced in Switzerland, not in the US anymore. Maybe it's because Hamilton is a traditional US brand and better known and sold as here. There are even two more options: the bigger and limited black Panda with 42 mm case diameter and a green Panda version with 40 mm case diameter like the one in this video. Great watch for sure.
One of these on my left wrist and the Rolex 50mm submariner on my right
This one is on my list of temptations I have thus far resisted. Odds of reaching my 50th birthday without one are not high.
That's Bulova Snoopy Lunar Pilot is looking better and better everyday
Hahaha true
Mine is arriving today
@@jorgecardoso1161Congrats! I got my eye on a diver right now but if that doesn't pan out the panda lunar pilot is my backup
Oooh, happy New Watch Day! Enjoy it@@jorgecardoso1161
Yeah I owned that a while back. I really enjoyed it. The thickness was a bit much, but I didn’t mind the rest of what you mentioned. What finally made me sell it was my wife telling me it looked like Jack Skellington from the movie Nightmare Before Christmas. After that I couldn’t un-see it. Silly, but then again so is buying a $1500 watch.
To change the date via the pusher, just grab a paperclip 📎 , unfold it, & you can easily use that.
You can also advance the date by advancing the time. Useful if the watch sat and is only a couple days behind. Not so much if you haven't worn it for a couple weeks.
I love my automatic and mechanical watches. I had the same problem with fitment with a lot of Chrono watches until I came across my Zodiac Grand rally Chrono
Ive only discovered Hamilton not too too long ago. They use a design language that I think is great and fits their history perfectly. My next mechanical will be the KHAKI FIELD
AUTO CHRONO (H71626735) the black on black Jack Ryan version (such a sexy but utilitarian watch)
Great choice!
Seems really similar to my Tissot PRS516 automatic chrono, it’s chunky but I love it
Same moment so similar case size
Nice watch as well!
I own the initial offiering of this model and agree with findings but this watch gets more complimenrs than most of my other watches
That imbalance also probably come from the lugs being so far up from the case back. The mechanical version drops the lugs a bit so the watch sits flatter.
If I was going to spend that kinda money I’d get the Tissot pr516 or Hamilton jazz master chronograph but I kinda like the idea of a chronograph being mechanical and not automatic
I had one. I didn’t like how I sat on my wrist (7.5”) and was too thick for that vintage look
I do like this watch still considering buying it , but it is expensive for me
I was real real close going for this when it came out. As I've been hemming and hawing I weighed my options and decided against this Chronograph. Nice video. Hey, what is that beautiful tan strap you have with the holes in it? Gorgoues.
Brutal. The strap sucks too. And the bezel is so small it looks like an old pocket watch. Thanks for making this video - I never liked Hamilton watches but now I know 100% to steer clear.
I think servicing your watch is also a good hobby as a watch collector, it’s cheaper and definitely more fun
The size is kinda like it happens to me with the seiko skx007 in nato strap, feels wayy too big and swing from one side to the other
The mesh band is really pretty, can I know where you bought it from?
I want to say it was from Staib but not 1000% sure. Either STAIB or Strapcode
@@ChronometerCheck oh thank you!
My wrist size is similar to yours. I was looking at this watch but what would you recommend as a substitute for this. I wanted chronograph that would have similar aesthetic like a bit more dressed up
I like it, but i prefer the Breitling one :)
Great looking watch 👍
I never liked that the second hand is the small one . I’d rather the timer hand and seconds hand be switched.
Have you tried Sugess watches? They have a similar dial
Yes, I have a few and enjoy them. Great value
That sporty brown leather has a nice tone, where did you get it from?
could you check out jord watches? they make wooden watches and while not all of them are great i personally love the conway. i have the conway walnut and jet black
Not a huge fan of wood watches personally, but if you enjoy them, that's great. There's a watch out there for everybody!
Gorgeous watch
The hand wind version is thinner
The panda is surprisingly cheap to service tho, it’s less than $100 more than standard Hamiltons, that’s every few years too so not expensive
That's not too bad!
@@ChronometerCheck agreed I was worried when I first bought mine that it was going to be super expensive but in the US an overhaul is like $350 for the chrono while the regular 3 hand is like $260 or so it’s very reasonable considering some other brands charge $300+ for basic movements
Hamilton ROCKS🎸🎶‼️
I've been very interested in this piece. But there is one thing bothers me: it's a bicomplex, I want tricompax. And you know what? Eventually I ended up with Breitling Top Time, a much more expensive piece. Watch collection is very often emotional.
Have you tried on a panda to compare?
Just use a wooden or plastic toothpick for the date pusher.
Lol 2 of them?! I feel less bad about my 6 pepsis now... 😅
Let me have one🥹
2 turns into 3, 3 turns into 6. I can see it happening already
Worst thing about hamilton is that Hamilton/ swatch doesn't supply parts to any watch makers they want you to send to thier service center when it breaks.
Insane piece with this bad things too!
second watch giveaway?
Twisted end :))
I’ve owned this watch for a year+ now and always hated how hard it was to change the date. Didn’t realize there was a date button though. I’d just sit there changing the time till I got to the right date
“Finally, you might end up with two of them” Ah yes, the inevitability of watch collecting 😂😂😂
I REALLY WISH I COULD AFFORT THIS WATCH
You might end up with two of them 😂
Me: I won't even end up with one of them for that price tag. I'd rather spend 1.5k for a used vintage Omega watch than get that
Might end up with two of them haha 😂😂
seems you dont like it....
ill GLADLY take it off ur hands 😊
My man thinks I don’t hear the New Vegas sound fx
Heh
I did it more than once 😂
So why u bought it 😅???
Stop complaining!! It's great watch, you get a lot of watch for reasonably little money. I would buy it myself, but any watch smaller than 46mm looks too small on my wrist.
Lol, you pretty much explain a typical watch collector behavior 😂😂😂
They should just do a quartz version.
Idk if you remember me but you got confused on the alba you thought I said pewdiepie owns one but I meant say it looks like the theme colours of his channel
Ahhhh lol. I understand now!
@@ChronometerCheck ok lets gooooo finally
$1.5k? More like $2.5k now.
My grail
You are asking too much for a $1.5k watch. You would find similar issues with PP.😂
Use a toothpick
Ah yes. Your 6 foot 5 inch wrist 😂
Yea same
It's huge and a p*ss poor movement. 1,500, it's not worth 300
You mean $2.5k.
I don’t think you can get a better chronograph for 1,500
Could find 20 things i hate
Bro I am from India please give me this watch
If I ever get rich I promise I will give you one
Cheap paper looking dial 😂
Goofy looking thickness 😂
This is one amateur looking watch at the $2k price they want
Lol, eh, I like it. But to each their own!
Dumb purchase
Go to the gym so you don’t have little girl wrists.
Mmm worthless review, sound weak
Don't blame the watch for your girlie wrIsts
If he adjusted it to fit properly and wore it on the immobile arm instead of the movable wrist, the evaluation would be much different. Being on here doesn't make you credible when you can't fit a watch.
