Thank you for reacting to Band-Maid and their song ‘Bestie’. Band-Maid, like other talented groups in the past, have explored and incorporated various styles into their songs giving themselves a wider range while always keeping what fits the song in mind. Band-Maid’s talent and focus are what have created, these past 10 years, and will create in the future such wonderful well constructed songs that speak to each of us.
Band maid is, at its core, a hard rock band, and that is their norm. It’s not unheard of, they have a few low tempo songs, often as thank you’s to their fans. They also have acoustic sets. They branch out and their core sound evolves over time, but they remain a hard rock band.
It is outside their norm. It was cowrote with Mike Einziner from Incubus and Mike joined them on stage for the first time they played it live. Their genre varies from pop-rock to near metal, but their core sound is definitely hard rock.
Hard Rock is their bread & butter. But they drift around within that. This song was a collab with Mike Einziger from Incubus. Check out FROM NOW ON for a rock/metal/prog instrumental that is not to be missed. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Peace. 45.3
Band-Maid plays many styles of music ! Bestie is milder then most of their newer songs . If you want something with a punch check out "From Now On" MV or "Real Existence" Official Live ! Thanks Nice Reaction
This song was co-written with Mike Einziger from INCUBUS, during some live jam session between Mike and BAND-MAID members when Mike came to Japan to work with them.
Thanks for the great reaction Master meaningfullyvacant. Genre is Band-Maid, you can't really channel them into one genre. Their portfolio is diverse, but to your point, this way over to the pop rock side of the spectrum and a bit more straight forward of song than what we've come to know as Band-Maid. Others have already mentioned the collaboration piece to this song. All I can say, is I love the song. I believe it's a very palatable song which was intended to reach out to a wider fan base...draw them in to find out more about Band-Maid and introduce them to great Rock music. PO!🕊 WORLD DOMINATION!🤘😆🤘
The Band-Maid genre? Well... it's Band-Maid! They have their roots in the hard rock, but branch out a lot into other genres like, pop, punk, metal, jazz etc... you name it really. It's hard to pin-point this band but you will know one thing for sure; There's never a band song in their discography! 😎🤘
Band-Maid is generally hard rock but they have songs that hit many different genres. This one, to me, is power-pop or perhaps pop-punk. For a couple that hit differently try the double song video Manners-Black Hole or the other double Dice-Different. Both are from a covid lockdown era live stream so live but no audience.
[Bestie, co-written by Michael Einziger of Incubus.] MISA's playing and bass tone are setting new standards... and Akane's drumming is so in-the-pocket and distinguishable... and Kanami's solo is Daydreaming masterful! The recording and mix are as enjoyable as the song and beautiful MV! Miku’s English lyrics (I bet with Saiki and Mikey-chan's influence) are heartfelt. "I can't look into your eyes." Is Band-Maid a band of fashion-forward, trend-setting Besties? 💞 Thx, Mikey & Band-Maid!
Some general info about the band. Typical Band-Maid music is hard rock with a metal edge, but can include blues rock to straight metal. Some breakdowns or guitar solos from Kanami can include some jazz elements. They sometimes do acoustic versions of a couple of songs at some live shows and have a live-in studio acoustic CD with 14 tracks. There is also Band Maiko, where they play songs wearing traditional Japanese Maiko costumes and with traditional instruments mixed in. Miku, the backing singer and guitarist, has a solo project under the name of Cluppo and has a 6 track CD called Hatofull inc 3 music videos. Hope this helps.
It's a song that will get Band-Maid closer to radio listens, especially it being in all-English. Band-Maid has ne genre you can pin on them and no, they have soft somngs in their library About-Us, At the Drop of a Hat, PAGE, Daydreaming, Memorable are all a must listen to. PAGE is still my favorite of these, but that's just me. Also check out some of the Christmas acoustic show songs when they go acoustic on their harder songs, that's a real treat. The girls can do is all. They can rock you to sleep or rip your face off.....your choice.
one of the well diverse and dynamically good band....try to react dice MV... I can see the creepy character behind you ,dice has this theme of darkness

The song is about their friendship and commitment to each other. The lead singer called it "a nice dry breeze".
