Band-Maid are amazing musicians, and they have wonderful personalities with a fabulous sense of humour. The song writing is top notch with performances to match. You can't go wrong with them.
Thanks for giving Band-Maid the chance. Best rock band I, personally, discovered the last 30 years. They brought the joy in it back to me. Band-Maid and The Warning were following each other on social media some time, but first really met a festival in the US in 2022. There's a video of it, it wasn't long, but really wholesome and cute. And now they're doing a concert together in June in Tokyo. I'd recommend for live videos "Hate", "Puzzle" or "Domination". And for music videos "Blooming" or "Warning!" Thanks 🤘🏻 🙂
I will never get tired of the musical "conversations" between MISA (bass) and Kanami (lead guitar). They're always amazing. MISA's ability to seamlessly switch between using a guitar pick and the "slap bass" technique is absolute sorcery. Regarding Band-Maid and The Warning: They will be performing together in Japan later this year.
I was lucky enough to see them twice in small venues in the states. They are the real deal. They reproduce their sound on stage. Very generous to their fans.
*BAND MAID!* Glad to see you checking Band Maid 😀 They have a rather generous selection of songs to listen to, and all are great. They just had their 10th anniversary, and many of the more recent postings on RUclips pull from the last show at Yokohama serving (or concert) last November. *Enjoy the ride!!* 🕊🕊🕊
Welcome Masters and Princesses to the best rock band on the planet. These beautiful ladies are in their early 30s now and have been rocking for 10 years with plenty of Solo work from Misa (bass) and Kanami (lead). Drum fills and solos from Akane are killer. The great thing is they always look so happy with great interactions with their fans. Thrill the track that blew them up on the world stage, after a slow start it suddenly went viral outside of Japan after being shown on Facebook (the label was about drop them when this happened in 2015), Play, Domination, Don’t You Tell Me, Dice, Freedom, Onset, From now on, Without Holding Back and Hate? Are all great tracks as they come for your soul. The 5 Band-Maid members: SAIKI Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. The youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. She’s into train spotting and collecting trainers. Very girly, into doing her nails and is a fashion icon. She’s really into Baseball and the Hanshin Tigers. Don't mess with her you will lose. But she has a heart of gold and a killer dry sense of humour. She has recently started writing lyrics. MIKU Kobato (Me-Ku), "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals and lyricist. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR Spokes Pigeon. She was originally going to sing vocals but stepped back for Saiki and learnt guitar instead, she couldn’t play when she formed the band and was initially tutored by Kanami. Miku's new signature Zemaitis guitar has pigeons on the fret board. The “Flappy Pigeon” is a beautiful model. Miku claims to be an 810 year old pigeon and makes pigeon noises when she speaks. Po! She’s very good at poker, really into horses and horse racing. Very clumsy (may fall into ditches). Has the energy of an average nuclear power station mixed with weapons grade cuteness. A comedian onstage - literally! She is the heart and soul of the band. KANAMI Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want is more! Kanami plays a PRS; the birds on the fret board are a tribute to Paul Reed Smith's mum who was an avid birdwatcher. Kanami has two personas. Normally a tiny cute shy very polite lady who seems very innocent (the band have to explain dirty jokes to her). Until she puts on her guitar. As the band say: "then she gets quite violent" - she turns into the shredding rock star she is. When she takes guitar off, back to the little girl. Likes cakes, coffee and is totally infatuated by Saiki. She adores Saiki very much, to everyone's amusement. AKANE Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during a performance!) rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. Although she seems to be the sane member of the band, she is actually the band clown. Usually has a big grin on her face while drumming manically, Akane was also a DJ (under the name DJ Achi) and likes dancing and goofing with MISA. She also plays trombone! MISA (Me-Sa), "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. Misa usually plays a Black Cloud 5 string bass aka “Black Smoker”. MISA is very shy onstage (and a total clown offstage with Akane). Because of shyness often drinks onstage, you can often spot a bottle of Jim Beam on her amp. She drinks it neat. Lately she’s drinking more beer than whiskey though, good girl. Doesn't say much, but when she does it's usually totally hilarious! At a lot of concerts you will hear the fans chanting MISA! MISA! MISA! Their Battle Gear as they call it with slight variations are standard French maid outfits for Akane, Miku and Kanami, MISA ditched the French maid outfit early on and started to wear a Chinese inspired maid outfit - in black of course. It's partly how MISA got her nickname 'The Barefoot Assassin'. Well, she always plays barefoot, and Miku joked her outfit was an “assassin maid”. Saiki's outfit is more Spanish inspired. Any Maids track always ROCKS and they have an extensive back catalogue (130+ tracks) and they are all so different.
Welcome to the world Band Maid.....you just heard the best current rock band on the planet !!!!! Keep listening and you will be hooked !!!! Cmon aboard for the ride !!!
Greatest band you are going to react to….from lyrics to drums the bass and guitarist…. These ladies are world class. Rock needed a women’s touch and Band Maid is it.
Welcome Princesses redheadedneighbor to the wonderful world of Band-Maid! The Maids portfolio is deep and diverse. Only 120+ great songs to go. PO!🕊 WORLD DOMINATION!🤘😆🤘
🐦 *redheadedneighbor* 🐦 Welcome to the world of *BAND-MAID* (2013 - Present) A group of 5 young ladies from Japan that will rock your world: *Miku Kobato* (Kuruppo) = Lead Vocals / Rhythm Guitar *(Po!)* *Saiki Atsumi* (Sai-Chan) = Lead Vocals *Kanami Tono* (Kanamincho) = Lead Guitarist *Akane Hirose* (A-Chan) = Drummer *MISA* (MISA, MISA, MISA) = Bassist If you wish to continue down this Pigeon Hole 😊 you will enjoy over 100+ great songs you will start saying to yourself “This is my favorite *BAND-MAID* song”. _(No joke Po!)_ Below is a list of songs that will get you started *Blooming-2019* *Dice-2018* *Choose Me-2017* *ONSET* (instrumental) *Real Existence Live (Apr. 13th, 2018)* *BAND-MAID / Don't you tell ME (Official Live Video)* *BAND-MAID / HATE? (Official Live Video)* I discovered *BAND-MAID* in 2019 and came to a realization that *BAND-MAID* more then just a rock band they are a band that does not have any boundaries and is willing experiment into different genre from (Blues, Rock, Punk and Jazz) and a lot of fans including me would say “you got to check out their live videos” from: *2017-STUDIO COAST* *2018-Zepp Tokyo* *2020-LINE CUBE SHIBUYA* *2021-BAND-MAID ONLINE ACOUSTIC* *2023-10TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR FINAL in YOKOHAMA ARENA* In the end I realize that *BAND-MAID* more then just a band but a band that cares about each other and their fan base and in October of 2022 I had a fortune of experiencing them live and with that *BAND-MAID* cemented their Legacy into my heart. Rock On! 🤘 *100% satisfaction guarantee or your money back…*
Don't forget their live videos from the 2023 Tokyo Garden Theater. Their live videos from the 2021 Online Okyu-Ji and the 2021 Day of Maid show are well worth checking out as well.
I suggested Band-Maid a few weeks ago what was the other song ? Band-Maid has been together 10 years now "Thrill" was their first music video ! They have just released a new song "Bestie" MV as well ! Welcome and Thanks btw Be Careful if you keep listening to The Maids you will turn into a Maidiac like the rest of us !!!!!
Band-Maid is certainly a hidden gem....and a common problem is that it's so hard to decide which song is your favorite, and most of the time it's the last song by them that you listened to.
2:05 - You like drums eh? Gosh darn it, the Gorilla will happily oblige: Freedom (2020 live) DICE (MV or 2020 live) Warning! (MV) Secret My Lips & Secret MAIKO Lips (both MV) Shambles (MV)
Nice Reaction! Our other favorite female rock band, The Warning, is going to Japan on June 12, 2024 for 3 days, doing 3 shows and one of those shows is going to be with Band Maid!
If you want more drums, check out Band-Maid's Live version of 'Freedom'! You'll go smile blind in that video ;) Can't wait for Band-Maid's and The Warning's joint concert on June 12th! I hope someone films it! 😎🤘
Hello Red! Welcome to your new rabbit hole.het ready to be blown away just don’t take too long in between cuz they have a ton. Wait til you see Misa really dig into that bass!💪🏼
Welcome to Band Maid! If you like drums, Band Maid is perfect. If you like bass, Band Maid is perfect, if you like ... 😂 These ladies are masters at their instruments: Kanami (composer and lead guitar), Akane (drums) and Misa (bass). Then there is lead vocalist Saiki who is perfect for the Band Maid sound and Miku Kobato (rythm guitar, pure energy, most lyrics, fantastic backing vocals and harmonies). Miku wasn't able to play the guitar when she founded the band i 2013. I don't know of any other band where the fans' playlists differ so much. So, this is just a quite random selection of songs: For some very special live videos try Freedom, Play, Real existence and Endless Story. With Moratorium (Live at Zepp), Rinne (MV) and Dice you can hear more hard rock while more catchy songs are Choose me (MV), Bestie (MV) and Alone (MV). And if you want to hear some ballads then maybe About Us (MV) and Daydreaming (MV) are good picks. But don't miss some of their instrumentals like From now on (MV) and Onset (Live). And finally a very special live performance is Manners/Blackhole (Official Online Live)🍌 And there is more: For example the songs with Miku in lead, their christmas acoustic concert and the 'cover band' Band-Maiko ;-) But if you want to start at the beginning of their career (2013-2017) then go with Thrill (MV, their first video), Real Existence (second video, but do the live video from 2018), Alone (MV, first own composition), Freedom(best LIVE performance), Choose Me, Play (LIVE!), ... Some other band recommendations? Then try "The Sixsters" from Ukraine (Pick any song) and "Gacharic Spin" from Japan (song: "Mindset"). Have fun... Po
this song was during the finale 10th anniversary concert in Yokohama Arena they played 33 songs during the 3.4 hour event, 2 months later they played a spin off concert featuring songs not played in the last show except for 3 of them. so it was a total of 50 different songs over the 2 shows. The Maids have opened for Guns N Roses in Japan and most recently opened for Incubus with whom they collaborated on a song with Michael Einziger guitarist of Incubus who joined the Maids on stage to play the song "Bestie". Coming up June 12 The Maids welcome The Warning to Japan for a joint concert and a new album is coming late summer. thanks for checking out the Maids, get well real soon. cheers
Great reaction and thinks for reacting to Band-Maid. There are a lot of Japanese all female rock and metal bands and Band-Maid (for me and a lot of other rock/metal fans) rank Band-Maid as one of the very best bands. They met the Warning at a festival in 2022 and that lead to a join concert with the Warning this coming June 12th in Tokyo, here's the clip - ruclips.net/video/pTtH8jozrQQ/видео.html
Whats wrong? She's got nice long tousled hair & cool straight cut fringe, i was paying her a compliment.😌....Come to think of it i wasn't expecting a restraining order to be issued so soon tho.🤭
As far as I am concerned BandMaid is the greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century! Thank you for your reaction! I put off trying BandMaid for over a yr. due to my narrow mindedness about the costumes. What a fool I was!
Welcome & thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 I witnessed this very performance as one of over 8,000 people at the venue on Nov.26, last year. Very exciting 3-hour-40-minute-long show with 33-song setlist. (Happy fatigue thereafter ) Band-Maid is one of the best bands in our country, especially in live performance. We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.) Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄
TY Red I really like them as well Stay sweet country girl praying for you to get well soon 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏#bandmaid #bandmaidreaction #hate #femalerock #firstreaction #redheadedneighbor #bestreactor #redsarmy #beautifulcountrygirl
Basically, Band Maid is the extension of mainstream hard rock that the American industry has completely abandoned and put up roadblocks to success, yielding the entire genre to other countries. Japan has been more than happy to pick up the slack with bands like Band Maid and One Ok Rock, going right down the center of rock and roll and producing fresh sounds within the range. Suggest ONLY LIVE cuts from them, because they shine live and sometimes add great material to it. Suggest Domination, Manners with Black Hole, Daydreaming, Hate, Freedom and Play.
I was beginning to think you were never gonna get around to checking out BAND-MAID....but so glad to see you finally made it. I did say that you wouldn't be disappointed......😃 I'm the same with the lyrics when it comes to BAND-MAID, I don't need to know what they are saying, I still get the 'feel' of what they are saying from the music and the emotion in Saiki's (or sometimes Miku's) voice. 'Freedom' (live) is their song with a drum solo. Akane (pronounced 'Ah-kah-nay' - the drummer) is probably the happiest drummer on the planet (always has a huge smile on her face when she's playing live). The band sometimes play a game on stage where they make funny faces at Akane to try to put her off her drumming, but she just laughs it off, and makes a funny face back, and keeps on going..... I'm looking forward to seeing you react to more of my favourite band..... (P.S. Electric Callboy - "We Got The Moves" is another 'feel good' song that might help to make you feel better - though hopefully you aren't coming down with something).
What was the song with no audio.? I hope it wasn't HATE live video with epic guitars solo. If it was and you do not want to react to it again you can also react to the Lollapalooza DICE/HATE where they perform two songs without a break in between. Anyway, great reaction to this song and I also recommend the FREEDOM live video for a drum solo. Cheers and first time ever being first in the comments. LOL
Awesome reaction! You also have to remember every band, group, or artist any of us has gotten into all had some sort of "gimmick" that hooked us in and opened our eyes and ears, music is music. Never let language or visuals be a reason to give you second thoughts (:
These girls have skills! It’s amazing to me how popular they are and that they fill a stadium!! Great song!!!! I love your enthusiasm with this video. 🎶 Cyd
The Warning are playing Japan in a month and BAND-MAID is coheadlining with them on June 12. Drums you say? Check out FREEDOM-LIVE. Straight up rock/metal instrumental? Check out FROM NOW ON. Power ballad you say? Check out DAYDREAMING. A collab with Mike Einziger of Incubus? Check out BESTIE. A song with traditional Japanese instruments? Check out GION-CHO. An acoustic tune? Check out CATHARSIS. Variation and diversity is BAND-MAID. Peace. 22.7
Not to self: Never tell anyone that Band-Maid is the best undercover Prog-rock band on Earth, because if that secret gets out their audience will drop down to us ca. 1000 prog-rock nerds still existing (plus the larger Tool crowd). I am of course joking to make a point. On a more serious note: Kanami is their head composer (though the credits always say "Band-Maid" as composer). She is a trained classical pianist and thus used to study and play music without vocals. You can also hear it in their arrangements: It is like an instrumental classical quartet (often counterpointing each other and moving counter-directional, syncopating and all the trades of classical music) under the vocals. At times, it makes them sound so jazzy and bluesy in the middle of what sounds like straight rock dancing with metal and punk. In future explorations, I suggest the "white-room" instrumentals they provide. But first, since you like vocal-driven music - check out "Play" official live. This was originally written as one of their instrumentals. Saiki (lead vocals) liked it so much that she asked Miku (Po) to write lyrics for it. Still, you should hear "Play" after hearing your first Band-Maid pure instrumental. "From Now On" (official video) is a good place to start; you will know when the instrumental starts. As good neighbours, we always think (in my case) that my 80-year-old neighbour lady does not know she needs to hear Band-Maid. In my kindness, I know she DESERVES to hear Band-Maid (and other peak "orchestras" I enjoy). I would of course never grant her this kindness after her bed-time. That would be unkind.
I'll always preach the Gospel of Band-Maid. These women would more than stand their ground against the Legends of Rock. Ironic how an all-female band from Japan are helping to keep the flame of Rock lit.
Concerning the drummer (Akane): There are some drums-only videos, many available in their fan membership. But "Freedom" has a drum solo. You may be interested in their first video they produced: "Thrill". It saved Band Maid and it's a good introduction to their early days. After that music video, they responded to some people who doubted that they play the musical instruments themselves: Akana recorded a cover song and played it as a drum solo. Search for "Benjo Sandal Dance". You could do both in a double feature reaction 😅 By the way,: Band Maid loves reactors and won't block your videos. And did I mention the wonderful documentaries produced by Band Maid fan Ohrenje? They are amazingly good! There is so much to say and learn about Band Maid... ❤
Red Headed Neighbor, Welcome to the Band-Maid neighborhood. We Maidiacs (that's what Band-Maid fans call ourselves) welcome you. The more you view and react to their videos, the more you will find how amazingly talented these five young Japanese females are. The concert that this video was shot from was the 10th Anniversary Tour finale in November in Yokohama Arena in November of last year. Band-Maid has remained intact as a group for that entire decade and the band has group exponentially individually and collectively. Kanami Tone, the lead guitarist is the primary composer of the group. She then gives her musical melodies to Miku Kobato (small pigeon) for her to write the lyrics. Miku often incorporates English lyrics along Japanese lyrics in their songs. Kanami also gives the melody to Akane Hirosi, their drummer extraordinaire, for feedback and then to MISA (no last name), the bassist for additional composition. MISA then gives her composition to Kanami and to Saiki Atsumi, their lead vocalist, to make sure the song is not too hard to sing to (and for positive feedback). Two recently released videos that I would suggest you react to are "Hate?", the official live video from the same concert and then "Besties", the official music video. "Besties" is a heartfelt lyrical tribute from Miku to her bandmates, her "besties". The lyrics are completely in English. The song was a collaboration with Mike Einziger, of the American rock band Incubus. These two songs will show how far Band-Maid has come this past decade. The other song that I would suggest you react to is "Thrill", the official music video, which started it all for Band-Maid and saved the band from being disbanded by their record company. All of the videos thqt I have mentioned can be pulled from the Band-Maid official RUclips channel. The Maids are very generous about sharing their RUclips videos with the world. Once you jump down the "pigeon-hole" that is Band-Maid, you will find that you will get a ton of new followers on your RUclips channel. You'll find many new neighbors that you never knew you had. Enjoy Band-Maid music like the rest of us.
The drummer, Akane, did upload a drum cover of Benjo Sandal Dance by Maximum the Hormone. Nao, the female drummer of MtH was an inspiration for her. You can also see her better in their video for the instrumental song "from now on". ruclips.net/video/KPgMD-nPITQ/видео.html ruclips.net/video/a6ZSvmnkS00/видео.html
THE best Hard Rock band in the universe. Think that covers everything. PS Since you asked (9:00): BAND-MAID: Akane's drum solo warm-up before BLACK HOLE, at Yokohama Arena, Nov 2023. ruclips.net/video/d3Rkto9P4M4/видео.htmlsi=uW5NX93AL0THVMfv
Oh no! 😢 We all missed your special moment of “the first time I heard Band Maid.” For me, an old blues rock guy, “Don’t you tell ME” is just about the perfect song. And can I share a secret? 🤫 Band Maid have more than 50 songs just as good as this one. Akane has several drum cams you can probably find on the Instrumental Maid channel. If you don’t need lyrics? Great! Then you should enjoy the most recent instrumental song from our dear Maids! “From Now On,” with plenty of hand close ups for your enjoyment 🖖🏽
She is a magical beast AND she is a sweet cheerful young woman with a huge appetite and an even larger sense of humor! She is quick to shed a tear during emotional moments like the last show of the 2022 tour or the finale of the Yokohama 10th anniversary concert. She has heart! But Lord have mercy she can go ham on those drums like Godzilla rearranging Tokyo!
If you liked this you're gonna love their whole catalogue. Try "Hate" from the same show - It will blow your mind. After that ... pick anything. New subby from Aust. P.S. I'll be the first to say forget the subtitles however "Hate" and "Endless Story" from the same concert are a must.
The Maids are the best band on the planet. You get to know these girls and how they love and treat their fans, you will become a Maidiac like us! The Maids rock!!
I vote for the release of the first video, or just do it again and label it as a second listen. Band-Maid have been around for almost 11 years now, so you've got quite a journey ahead of you. Throughout that time, they have maintained a stable lineup, with the only change having been the addition of vocalist Saiki shortly after they formed (they were originally a four person band). You may want to start at the beginning ("Thrill") and work your way forward to follow their evolution, but you really can't go wrong with Band-Maid.
Thanks for the reaction and comments. They are arguably the best live rock band on the planet. You can check out Akane playing in the following RUclips video: ruclips.net/video/JVDAWcVWiBI/видео.htmlsi=08IvpyxYTKp7nSHZ This one has a footcam so you can see just how active she is behind the kit. For close-ups of the guitarists, check out Hate? (official live video). The camera work is topnotch and there are enough close-ups of the fingerworks to satiate the most ardent enthusiasts. Cheers.
Insanely skilled group of musicians. They craft such good songs, especially the choruses. Like The Warning, there aren't any duds. Also like The Warning, live is the way to go.
Don't You Tell Me! Oh, wait! You just did.🤘😂 Now, let me tell you something: The Warning, a world-famous band from Mexico, and BAND-MAID will perform a dream two-band show! After meeting on our US tour in 2022, "The Warning" will be making their memorable first visit to Japan with BAND-MAID! Venue: EX THEATER RIPPONGI Date: Jun 12, 2024. Plus… BAND-MAID release a new song, "Bestie," co-written with Mike Einziger of INCUBUS! The MV dropped May 1. And, BAND-MAID HALL TOUR 2024 -- June 28, 2024 (Fri) Nagoya City Public Hall, Aichi, Japan -- July 5, 2024 (Fri) Osaka, Fenice Sakai Main Hall, -- July 14, 2024 (Sun) Kanagawa Kenmin Hall, Kanagawa. Thx, ReHeNe!
@@redheadedneighbor The entire concert is so worth watching - 33 incredible songs. They have a number of concerts that set the bar high for performance, execution, audio / video quality, and song list. 🤘🏻
You could always re-react to that first Band-Maid song. It wouldn't a "first" reaction but you could still give your thoughts on the song. Well just a thought.
I care about the vocals. I do not care about lyrics at all. Thank you for reacting to the greatest rock band on the planet. For emphasis on the drummer check out From Now On where the drummer and the lead guitarist just goes off the entire song. Also check out Freedom live for a cool drum solo by Akane.
I'm so glad you finally got to the maids! So which song did you do? I would love to see even a short of your first 30 seconds or so. Akane is the drummer and never misses a beat. With MISA (bass) and Kanami (Lead guitar) they are a well oiled machine They all trust each other and are spot on every time. Miku (rhythm has come a long way herself) They have a few instrumentals. (Saiki is the singer We'll give her a break) We really don't care about the lyrics after we learn the gist of what the song is about. Millions listen to Opera and don't know the words either. Freedom has a great drum solo too.
If you like drums, Band-Maid is for you! Akane Ah-Kah-nee (Gorilla) is one of the best going. Check out "Freedom" LIVE 2020 Feb14th Shibuya Japan......trust me. Why don't I have neighbors like you.........sigh. Here's a little tip. Click the settings icon on the RUclips screen, click the subtitles/CC tab, click option (top right) then click Font Size and choose the size to reduce your font so it does not take up half the screen when it's reduced like here. Give it a try!
Redheadneighbor , Welcome to BAND-MAID , Enjoy your journey down the Pigeon hole , MISA !!! MISA !!! MISA !!! the Barefoot Bass Assassin , saw them twice live they are Amazing , next song pick anything from the official channel , you will not be disappointed , live or music video , no don't post that video .
Dear neighbor, there is an obscure fancame video of the Band-Maid song "Moratorium" on the internet that shows Kanami's blazingly fast fingerwork on her guitar. The fancam was shot at The Paradise Rock Club in Boston, MA. It was taken in the fall of 2022. There are several instrumen only videos of Band-Maid on the "Maid Instrumental" channel on RUclips.
For your previous listen, as a BANDMAID "virgin", you should still post it - add some text for what you think you were thinking, and go for it, it's still going to be appreciated as watching new MAIDIACS, is as much fun as listening to them. BTW, what video was it? They do have a wide range of styles and genres influencing their music - and thats not even taking BAND-MAIKO into consideration! Others have covered the BM and The Warning friendships and future performance, below. Oh, forgot, they do have a track "The Warning", if you want to look at that some stage?
That was delightful, thank you! What was the first song with the failed audio recording? Was it live? I think it'd help put a little bit of context with the 2nd experience here.
This isn't even the best LIVE version of this song. It was taken dawn ahead of a DVD release along with a lot of other classic BAND-MAID. You can now only see it on the DVD or, if you're adventurous, on the Chinese site, Bilibili. That's where the Studio Coast and Zepp Tokyo LIVE concert videos are.
(I posted a big post it doesn't seem to have shown up. If this is duplicate, forgive me). Shortest, but awesome, vid to learn the basics, po, is: Band Maid Interview Jp+Eg Subs on AbyssWalker
Band-Maid are amazing musicians, and they have wonderful personalities with a fabulous sense of humour. The song writing is top notch with performances to match. You can't go wrong with them.
Freedom is the song with a drum solo. The Warning and Band-Maid are doing a concert in Japan next month.
Yeeees, Best drum solo, Freedom Live
Thanks for giving Band-Maid the chance. Best rock band I, personally, discovered the last 30 years. They brought the joy in it back to me.
Band-Maid and The Warning were following each other on social media some time, but first really met a festival in the US in 2022. There's a video of it, it wasn't long, but really wholesome and cute.
And now they're doing a concert together in June in Tokyo.
I'd recommend for live videos "Hate", "Puzzle" or "Domination".
And for music videos "Blooming" or "Warning!"
Thanks 🤘🏻 🙂
I will never get tired of the musical "conversations" between MISA (bass) and Kanami (lead guitar). They're always amazing. MISA's ability to seamlessly switch between using a guitar pick and the "slap bass" technique is absolute sorcery.
Regarding Band-Maid and The Warning: They will be performing together in Japan later this year.
"Conversations" is really a more apt term than "battle". And not just for this and other Band-Maid songs, but songs by other bands, too.
Congratulations on discovering the #1 band in the world today! Enjoy the ride!! 🎶🎸🥁🎸🎶🔥🙂🕊
Yes, PLEASE post your first reaction, even without the audio!!!!! I, for one really like seeing peoples' expressions. 🕊🕊🕊
Ok, I will
@@redheadedneighbor 🙏
I was lucky enough to see them twice in small venues in the states. They are the real deal. They reproduce their sound on stage. Very generous to their fans.
Yes they do and yes they are!!!
*BAND MAID!*
Glad to see you checking Band Maid 😀
They have a rather generous selection of songs to listen to, and all are great. They just had their 10th anniversary, and many of the more recent postings on RUclips pull from the last show at Yokohama serving (or concert) last November.

Welcome Masters and Princesses to the best rock band on the planet. These beautiful ladies are in their early 30s now and have been rocking for 10 years with plenty of Solo work from Misa (bass) and Kanami (lead). Drum fills and solos from Akane are killer.
The 5 Band-Maid members:
SAIKI Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies.

I discovered *BAND-MAID* in 2019 and came to a realization that *BAND-MAID* more then just a rock band they are a band that does not have any boundaries and is willing experiment into different genre from (Blues, Rock, Punk and Jazz) and a lot of fans including me would say “you got to check out their live videos” from:

*100% satisfaction guarantee or your money back…*
Don't forget their live videos from the 2023 Tokyo Garden Theater.
Gosh darn it, the Gorilla will happily oblige:
Freedom (2020 live)
DICE (MV or 2020 live)
Warning! (MV)
Secret My Lips & Secret MAIKO Lips (both MV)
Shambles (MV)
Note: "The Gorilla" is the nickname for the drummer Akane Hirose.
Rinne
Blackhole
Nice Reaction! Our other favorite female rock band, The Warning, is going to Japan on June 12, 2024 for 3 days, doing 3 shows and one of those shows is going to be with Band Maid!
Please take some time and feel better soon Red ❤❤❤❤
If you want more drums, check out Band-Maid's Live version of 'Freedom'! You'll go smile blind in that video ;)
Can't wait for Band-Maid's and The Warning's joint concert on June 12th!
These ladies are masters at their instruments: Kanami (composer and lead guitar), Akane (drums) and Misa (bass).
And finally a very special live performance is Manners/Blackhole (Official Online Live)🍌 And there is more: For example the songs with Miku in lead, their christmas acoustic concert and the 'cover band' Band-Maiko ;-)
But if you want to start at the beginning of their career (2013-2017) then go with Thrill (MV, their first video), Real Existence (second video, but do the live video from 2018), Alone (MV, first own composition), Freedom(best LIVE performance), Choose Me, Play (LIVE!), ...
Can i just say i really like your hair even tho i'm not your neighbour seeing as i live in England...but BAND-MAID are awesome.🙂
#LongDistanceFlirting
Behave Gary ;) .
Whats wrong? She's got nice long tousled hair & cool straight cut fringe, i was paying her a compliment.😌....Come to think of it i wasn't expecting a restraining order to be issued so soon tho.🤭
@@GaryHolloway-810 I'm sure it was just a misunderstanding, Gary, though I'm not sure sending her a wedding picture with was the best strategy ;)
@@GaryHolloway-810 The Minchomania cake was probably a little over the top :p .
As far as I am concerned BandMaid is the greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century! Thank you for your reaction! I put off trying BandMaid for over a yr. due to my narrow mindedness about the costumes. What a fool I was!
I agree 100% they are the band of the 21st century!
Welcome & thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 I witnessed this very performance as one of over 8,000 people at the venue on Nov.26, last year. Very exciting 3-hour-40-minute-long show with 33-song setlist. (Happy fatigue thereafter )
Band-Maid is one of the best bands in our country, especially in live performance. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)
Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz".
Woah. The ginormous subtitles surprised me. :)
Me, too!
I was beginning to think you were never gonna get around to checking out BAND-MAID....but so glad to see you finally made it. I did say that you wouldn't be disappointed......😃
I'm the same with the lyrics when it comes to BAND-MAID, I don't need to know what they are saying, I still get the 'feel' of what they are saying from the music and the emotion in Saiki's (or sometimes Miku's) voice.
It took a bit!
@@redheadedneighbor But you got there, that's the important part. 😄
P.S. Hope you're feeling better.
I really enjoyed that! Look forward to hearing some more. There seems to be a lot of all girl rock bands about now.
if you want a drum solo, check out FREEDOM live
Best rock band on the planet.
LOL
Unfortunately, it was. And it was🔥🔥🔥🔥
Awesome reaction!
You said it!!!!
You could do both in a double feature reaction 😅
By the way,: Band Maid loves reactors and won't block your videos.
And did I mention the wonderful documentaries produced by Band Maid fan Ohrenje? They are amazingly good!
There is so much to say and learn about Band Maid... ❤
Came for Rush stayed for Band Maid! By far my favorite current rock band!!! More Rush and more Band Maid please!!! Keep Rocking!👍🏼🤟🏻🤙🏻
Hey readheadedneighbor,
welcome to the world of Band-Maid .
Glad to have you on this journey !
Bill!!! 🍺🥴
The drummer, Akane, did upload a drum cover of Benjo Sandal Dance by Maximum the Hormone. Nao, the female drummer of MtH was an inspiration for her. You can also see her better in their video for the instrumental song "from now on".

Akane performs a complete solo in the song Freedom. She's good !!
Kanami channeling one of her guitar heroes Carlos Santana in this song.
If the melody is good enough, lyrics are not always so important.
Daydreaming, one of the best songs this century. That's saying a lot because there are about 50 Maid songs I love.
WELCOME HOME. no worry 1 song, you have plenty left to go. Thanks 4 reaction ❤️👍🔥🤟
THE best Hard Rock band in the universe. Think that covers everything. PS Since you asked (9:00): BAND-MAID: Akane's drum solo warm-up before BLACK HOLE, at Yokohama Arena, Nov 2023. ruclips.net/video/d3Rkto9P4M4/видео.htmlsi=uW5NX93AL0THVMfv
❤❤❤❤❤🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘Akane !!! 💗( drummer ) nice to hear you again Red ;)
Oh no! 😢 We all missed your special moment of “the first time I heard Band Maid.”
For me, an old blues rock guy, “Don’t you tell ME” is just about the perfect song.
Band maid is a pick me up when you're not feeling well. Freedom live is the drummers go to for drum solo. She isnt human .she is a gorilla
Akane’s solo at Yokohama arena ruclips.net/video/W-r9SUd2MG8/видео.htmlsi=j2fo3lXqG763Mup6
Good job. Thank you!
Check out " Domination" live for a brief drum solo by Band-Maid.
Welcome to the pigeonhole, po!
Best rock band on the planet, po!
Hate? live from this same concert next, po!
We all know that look when we see it, its down the pigeon hole for u, po!, enjoy the ride
Chance reaction or fate ? Great reaction!!!!! You can't go wrong with BAND-MAID PO!!!!! ROGER OUT🕊🍌🍻☕⚾........😉
Don't You Tell Me!
This is a dream concert
@@redheadedneighbor The entire concert is so worth watching - 33 incredible songs. They have a number of concerts that set the bar high for performance, execution, audio / video quality, and song list. 🤘🏻
You could always re-react to that first Band-Maid song. It wouldn't a "first" reaction but you could still give your thoughts on the song. Well just a thought.
G'day bluey Oops Red 😂❤❤❤
Thanks so much nice reaction!
Next recommend song are from now on or on set Hate?
Band-maid's next show is with The Warning in Japan
Dear neighbor, there is an obscure fancame video of the Band-Maid song "Moratorium" on the internet that shows Kanami's blazingly fast fingerwork on her guitar. The fancam was shot at The Paradise Rock Club in Boston, MA. It was taken in the fall of 2022. There are several instrumen only videos of Band-Maid on the "Maid Instrumental" channel on RUclips.
I would like that
🕊
Going out live streaming this weekend?🍺🥴
Po!
Post the one with no audio , reactor to their song Freedom for the Drum Solo and next do Alone and live version of Endless Story
I would love to see the silent reaction!
I’ll post
Oh, and did you ask for a drum cam? Most smiles per drumming mile since Kieth Moon.

Roger!😂
AKANE!
Maybe you can do a re-react to the first song.
I will
That was delightful, thank you! What was the first song with the failed audio recording? Was it live? I think it'd help put a little bit of context with the 2nd experience here.
It was live Hate
This isn't even the best LIVE version of this song. It was taken dawn ahead of a DVD release along with a lot of other classic BAND-MAID. You can now only see it on the DVD or, if you're adventurous, on the Chinese site, Bilibili. That's where the Studio Coast and Zepp Tokyo LIVE concert videos are.
Your next one should definitely be "influencer", & pay special attention to the lyrics.... Perhaps you'll recognize yourself in it...
