I’d wanted the px4 storm compact for two years and couldn’t find a compact until late last year. I got the stainless edition with the black frame and stainless slide and went straight to Langdon and started making mine a compact carry. I now have all the parts you’d put on the Langdon version and man Jason is this a sweet shooter and currently my favorite polymer pistol in DA/SA. What a soft and flat shooting 9mm not that 9 is recoil heavy but with this platform? Man it’s just next level imo. I absolutely love my px4 and while initially the styling struck me a little strange, I still found it cool and interesting enough to seek one out and am I glad I did. I loved my CZ p07 but this px4 simply puts that to shame, it had no equal in this segment

I got mine from LTT 2 weeks ago and have put about 100 rounds through it. I’m telling you it’s amazing and all the problems you had would not be there with one the Ernest. He’s done an amazing job with the gun. He has one that he’s put 70,000 rounds through in a year. I believe he has 3 that have over 50,000 rounds through without anything major happening to them. Beretta says that the gun will run 150,000 without any kind of breakage. It’s a pretty awesome pistol if you ask me. I’ll be lucky if I get to 10,000 rounds with this gun so I feel good about its reliability.

Another honest review, thank you! I’m considering changing up my EDC to a hammer-fired pistol and debating between the PX4 Compact or CZ P-07.
One thing that isn’t mentioned is the shorter barrel compared to other compact pistols, which will affect velocity. Also, there isn’t much texturing on the sides of the grip, which isn’t as important as front and back texturing, but still a concern for some.

Great gun! Recently picked one up. Glad I did. Feels Natural to point and aim. And feels great to shoot, part of the reason is that the px4 compact 9mm model always had a thicker rotating barrel which adds a half ounce but slightly softens the recoil sensation. The full size px4 9mm has a thicker barrel only in the new model g-sd (.40 width barrel but drilled for 9mm).
It’s different but different is better in this case.

I agree the SA/DA is the best system in my way of thinking. The worst problem with the PX4 Storm and is commented in every review is the lack of texture ion the grip side panels. I can’t believe Beretta can’t see,and fix. The another issue is the short barrel however it is great shooter. The rotation of the barrel means some form of locking suppressor is needed. The Storm needs a greater market adoption to get the suppressor manufacturer’s to develop a needed lockup mechanism. The Langdon team has a fix for the thin front sight. I would love to get a Langdon modified PX4 Storm perhaps with a stippled grip rather than the glue on grip texture. I

I like them also, and If given a choice, the PX4 Sub, or compact, I haven't been able to stop, with any ammo. They will run garbage FMJ that won't run in anything else. Every HP I've bought +p any amount of charge. It's for Shure a EDC. I like the 4" compact You get very used to it, and it's quirks. In time, you can get real good with this gun.....

I've shot the Beretta/Stoeger Cougar. I like that gun a bit more in most regards, except the fat stock grips. Flat on the sides and textured in the straps, the Px4 fis more controllable for my hands. The trigger on the Px4 feels a bit smoother and more predictable. Both are great guns. I recall the 92 series being exceptionally easy to rack, too.

We hear own seven different varieties of the PX4 family. We have 5 full size PX4 in 40 S&W.2 Compact PX4 9mm and one PX4 sub compact 9mm. The ejection of your ammo is probably nothing more than your ammo choice. For whatever reason, we have found that using standard production ammo we would have Brass that would eject randomly In the 40 caliber PX4. (As we did not have any 9mm PX4 at the time.) As soon as we started to use our reloads, the problem went away. In fact, we realized we could adjust Our loadings and make the brass land where we wanted it to.

That aside Great review, great pistol. Same thing happens when I shoot my sig p365. Shooting same gun from a rest of some sort will reduce group size at further distances

I have 4 PX4s, collecting before they were cool (maybe I'm a dirty lil hipster). Thought the higher bore axis, I think the rotating barrel compensates. I've never noticed any symptoms of a high bore axis with these. And ALL of these are easily concealable with a good holster (even with a compensator). I love rotating barrels after owning these. Grand Power is another great consideration. Not as pretty, but amazing shooters. Maybe even better than the PX4 IMHO.

I do not know if .380 would have enough power to cycle a rotating barreled pistol. It would be interesting to see though.

Definitely doesn’t seem to have as much muzzle flip as a Browning style action. Interesting pistol, Jason.

Maybe it's normal but it seemed to me after I rewatched it 3 times, that there was a lot more barrel rise when you were steadied on the bag than when you first shot it
Thanks for this. I really want a px4 compact for my EDC. It's got everything I want for appendix carry, decocker/safety, hammer fired and the size. Every other vid review was just a rave and drool over the px4. I feel like yours was more honest. And I still want one 👍

Interesting. I currently own a PX4 Storm Compact in 40S&W. I used to own a PX4 Subcompact in 9mm, but I traded it for the Compact in 40.
The subcompact had more recoil than I thought it should have felt (the sc does not have the rotating barrel, by the way). At the time i owned it, I compared it to my friend's PX4 Compact in 9mm. I liked his Compact better.
As I said I traded it for the Compact in 40. I love the Compact in 40. I shot my friend's Compact in 9mm side by side. I could not feel much of a difference, and I actually shot my 40 Compact more accurately. I know that's probably because I have more experience with it.
I do not feel like it is too snappy, though. Maybe that's because I shoot higher weight bullets, 200 grain, my reloads. I find that my 200 grain reloads have less recoil than the 180 grain factory ammo. One of these days I'll load up some 165 grain bullets and see how the two weight bullets compare when loaded by me.

I would agree with the accuracy opening up at distance. I'm still on the fence with mine. Would like to send it to Langdon, but haven't decided if it's a keeper. I do like the double action hammer fired action for appendix carry.

First off, the standard size isn't much larger than the compact size. I did however change out the sights to the XS SIGHT LOLLY-POP SYSTEM - Big Dot Tritium Express Set, Which Is The Same System As The Sig Sauser's SI-0002S-5. I DO LIKE THE GLOWING SIGHTS.😅
However, They do suggest "Use Instruction Number 1, 2, & 7. (SX SUGGESTED USING THE 5) AND...It's just as good using only the front sight, odd but saves time and your still on point, pardon the pun.😊
    I believe I paid around $80 +-. 👍👍👍
