Here I thought last seasons 4 OT loss was gonna haunt me for years to come then game 6 happens Most wins in a six year span without making the Stanley Cup Finals This was the best and last chance with a current core and they absolutely fucked it The modern day San Jose Sharks comparison is an insult to the Sharks at least they could actually get wins in the conference finals
Bruins don’t deserve one honestly. They were a team some people predicted to miss the playoffs, and they faced a superior opponent in the Panthers in round 2.
"This playoffs was marred by the thing Tree has mocked with the Hurricanes since the birth of his channel, UNRELIABLE GOALTENDING!!! PLEASE KEEP COMING TO OUR GAMES!"
Toronto warned them about Freddy. He's got plenty of talent, but when he shits the bed it's like he just went to an all you can eat Taco Bell and laxatives buffet.
As a lifelong Sharks fan, I can confirm the Carolina Hurricanes (2019-) are the modern San Jose Sharks. Every year we are told by "experts" how the Canes an elite team, Cup favorite, and dominate in the metrics only for them to consistently sh*t the bed in the playoffs. 1 Western Conference Final in the past 6 seasons, and that final they got swept by an eighth seed. In the 2019, they were that up-and-coming, metrics-sexy team that could contend for a Cup in the near future. Now, they are the team nobody takes seriously come the playoffs because they have proven, like the Leafs, they can't get it done.
Stop! The Leafs have 1 playoff series win in the Matthews/Marner era and 1 in the last 20 years. They are a failure. The Canes have won a playoff series every year since 2019. Been two a couple conference finals. Winning a championship in any sport is extremely tough. They have been in the mix for half a decade now. Not a failure just because they haven't hoisted the cup.
"Toronto tried to warn you" Andersen coughed up a multi-goal lead in an elimination game. As a Leafs fan, I couldn't be prouder of him taking some of our failure to another franchise.
Took one period for the Canes to go from from threatening to make the Rangers the new Sharks to just making themselves the new Sharks. But at least Carolina can cope via their other great teams like the Horne-I mean, the Panth-alright, I give up. Sorry Charlotte and Raleigh, but you're totally screwed! (Seriously, it's amazing how much sports pain Carolina has taken this past year alone by teams named the Panthers in both hockey and football.)
Yeah, this might have been Carolina's last shot at a championship. They're more like the new Washington Capitals. At least they won a cup, unlike the Sharks.....
I lean more towards the Jackets, cause at least the Canes have their 2006 Cup win to look back on (their head coach, Rod Brind'Amour, captained that team, as a side trivia). The Jackets, them defeating the Lightning didn't amount to anything, cause the Lightning rebounded and took the "latest back-to-back winner" title away from the Penguins. Since then, nothing has gone right for this team. Even worse, in Ohio, there are more promising teams (Bengals, Buckeyes, Cavaliers) or a bigger laughing stock (Browns) that take the attention away from the Jackets. That is the real tragedy, where you are neither good or bad to be noticed.
I'm an Avs fan, and I don't have anything against the Canes, was a big rooter of theirs when I was a Nordiques fan and they played in Hartford, but I love seeing them lose just to hear Canes man!

gotta be honest as a Rangers fan if we had choked this series we would have never heard the end of it so absolutely relieved we got the win in game 6 as for where do we go from here ? it won't be easy no denying that but yea i am hoping we will go the distance this year and finally win it all into another Eastern Conference finals LET'S GO RANGERS !!!!!
As a rangers fan, few things make me feel more survivor’s guilt than defeating this team in painstaking fashion. I’m thrilled we didn’t blow it, but I feel dirty.
Why should you feel dirty? This was going to be a close competitive series. The canes were competitive all series long. It wasn’t like the rangers were dominating and kicking the canes ass the first 3 games of the series. A few bounces and it could’ve easily been 2-1 for either team after game 3. Rangers weren’t exactly choking a series away when it stayed as close as it was the whole way through.
@@appealtoreason7584 you’re half right. Obviously it was very close and competitive as it usually is between these two particular teams. But that imo is exactly what makes the outcome all the more painful and biting. To play your asses off and throw everything out there and still come just barely short multiple years running? To me, that’s a more difficult defeat than that of a team that just never really put in the effort to begin with and therefore were never really burdened by such high expectations. In short, it’s not that the Canes didn’t deserve to win like some other teams, (not mentioning any names but if ykyk), it’s that they continue to lose in spite of the fact that they kinda do. Also, I wouldn’t say the rangers were choking strictly speaking, but Game 5 and the first half of 6 were def a flop compared to the first 4.
