- Playoff hockey. What more needs to be said? Sixteen teams each with a chance at claiming the ultimate prize. Some are in an all-or-nothing phase. Some are eager to prove themselves. Some are just happy to be here and embrace the chaos.
This video is in dedication to the sixteen teams yearning for immortality. Fifteen of them will not make it. Let's go over all of them and their aspirations, big and small.

God's been good to me these past few years
I doubt this one's going to seven. The Bruins played four games against the Leafs this year and won all of them. I know, I know, playoff hockey is a different beast, but considering this is Toronto we're talking about? A team that has only won one series in the last two decades and immediately got punched in the mouth by the team that beat these same Bruins when they made it?
I've got a gut feeling that the Bruins will win it in 5.
If they get reversed swept this time it's going to have Steve Dangle actually go insane

this is the first real season I've paid attention to the NHL. I saw most of last year's playoffs but this year I was keeping up with the picture and stuff. All that's to say I'm really looking forward to how this all unfolds.

Thx everyone. Panthers bruins game 7 was the first hockey game I fully watched. Gotta say I’m probably blessed to get a game like that as my first intro to the game. This is more my first full season watching top to bottom
Same. I grew up listening to my friends and dad care about the Rangers and I had gear too. I never really cared too much though other than box score watching over the years to say I kept up with the team when my friends would ask. The last 4 years though I actually fell in love with the sport itself and I’m glad to be a passionate rangers fan now technically with 2 decades of loyalty, lmao. This is an awesome sport with great tradition and action. On par with football and MMA for me which were my big two beforehand.

@@findingmariaselvis Colorado got pretty good team from Quebec with Forsberg, Sakic, Kamensky and Deadmarsh. On other side we have Utah who got from Arizona burnt toy house and the dog whistle.
The D-Backs just won the NL pennant, the Cardinals might not suck if Kyler can stay healthy for a full season, and the Suns are perennial contenders right now. That's better than nothing. Cleveland? Twin Cities? Detroit? Now _those_ are cursed markets.

Gotta say as a Caps fan it's kind of nice having absolutely no expectations for our run. It's all house money at this point. We really shouldn't have even made it in.
That said, it'd be nice to see our boys inflict the "President's Trophy winner brought down by a team that they should have crushed on paper" misery on the Rangers. Lord knows we've been on the wrong end of that particular scenario enough as a franchise, it'd be cool to be the one causing the misery for a change.

This video is one of my favorites of yours every year I cant lie. Go Bolts
The Flyers even though they ran out of gas toward the end overachieved. Torts was able to take a team full of rookies,spare parts and the main star player (OUR GOALIE) getting into legal trouble. These ingredients would normally kill a season but they still almost had 40 wins. Much has to be done this off season but so far so good for the “rebuild”
Losing 8 straight down the stretch, many to bottom-feeders (Columbus, Chicago, Montreal TWICE) still sucked.
@@Coyotek4 Team still played well by the underlying numbers during that stretch outside of the sub-800 goaltending. Not really sure if that makes it more or less painful though
@@Coyotek4 yes that losing streak came at the worst time but go through this roster and you can count on one hand of who definitely stands out.
I will say it to the eons losing Hart KILLED the Flyers. We had a great goalie tandem for about a week before Hart was arrested. The Flyers were really god damn good during that week in January. Too bad they fell apart because we had to overuse Errson because every other goalie we had sucked.

This has the ability to be the most interesting playoffs and underlying storyline for teams... Boston and Toronto rematch again, a repeat Battle of Florida, Kings try not to be beaten by Edmonton for a third straight time, possible for revenge for Vegas after losing the Dallas and the conference final in the Bubble, and can't forget how the cops were always overpowered by the rangers in the mid 2010s...can't wait to see how it all goes...

1. Chytil's actually back practicing with the team! It's an awesome sign given the injury was regarded as potentially career-threatening. There's a decent chance he could end up playing depending how deep they go
2. President's Trophy curse is a fun meme, but the team that finishes 1st in the league has historically had a better success rate than any other spot in the standings. iirc #2 is actually the most "cursed"

My dad and I dissect every game and I can’t remember a Maple Leafs team this good, but inconsistent. They rarely have a consistent 60 minutes, it’s like watching hockey on speed.
The biggest difference makers in the Leafs Bruins series will be Max Domi and Tyler Bertuzzi, if those two can establish their games and get under some of the bruins skin, I think they can finally conquer the boogeyman.
They could also get swept in 3 games. I’m so nervous to see what team shows up tomorrow. They have more personalities than a mental hospital.

The Jet's success is not solely due to Helly as you say. They have a great backup goaltender in L.B. who has pulled his weight equally as well considering how little they actually played him. They went through a short transition period & are back up to where they were when they sat in first place in the entire league with 4 games in hand. They did blow that but have proven themselves to be a team that could very well take the Stanley Cup this year. Good luck to all the teams who managed to make it this year.

If not the Capitals, or the Lightning, then the Jets. Somehow they managed to shit the bed worse than the Leafs have, and Toronto didn't bother to show up until Game 5 for the most part. That's impressive for all the wrong reasons.

The Rangers have SWEPT the Capitals, making the end segment about the Caps age terribly. Also, in their Legacy of Failure, the Washington Capitals have pretty much been the Rangers’ punching bag, along with the fucking Penguins.

Being a fan of the biggest villains in the NHL and NFL feels good. I got to see my NFL and NHL teams win titles in the same calendar year. Doesn't get any better than this.
The Rays came so close in 2020 as well. Seeing Kevin Cash pull Blake Snell is still 1 of the biggest wtf moments I've ever seen in a baseball game.
Dude nailed that Carolina one other than the special teams. They may have had the most devastating series loss in their teams history. Convinced the whole league they’d come back from 3-0 only to let up a natural hattrick in a span of 8 minutes while up 3-1 at home
Toronto playing the Bruins in the first round, I feel like I’ve seen this movie before. Let me guess - the Leafs get an early series lead, the fanbase begins to plan the victory parade, the Leafs pull the traditional Choke, then it’s Game 7 at TD Gardens and we all know how the story ends.
Least I can admit my Jets are mid - we’re either getting btfo’d Round 1 or at the Conference, going off history. Making it to the Finals would be hilarious, especially considering Bettman’s recent visit up here…
Not sure how the Jets escaped a "Congrats" video. Supposed defensive juggernaut and Vezina candidate and they choke horrendously and become the first ever NHL team to allow 5+ goals each in their first (and only) 5 Playoff games.

Yeah, as embarrassing as the Leafs' loss was, the Jets were somehow even worse. Came into the playoffs on an eight-game winning streak, beat their opponent 7-0 a week before the playoffs, and then...
- Outscored 2:1 across the series
- Four straight losses by 3 goals or more
- First team in NHL history to allow 5+ goals in each of the first five games of a series
- Eliminated in 5
- Coach retires in disgrace
- Rumours that the team might have to move in the near future due to poor local economy (a deep run might have helped)

No team this year has embarrassed themselves like the Jets have. How the hell do you lose in 5 and get outscored 2:1 against a team that you beat all three times you played them through the season, and won 7-0 against the week before the playoffs?! They averaged a GAA just short of *5* (excluding empty net goals) across the entire series! They had an eight game winning streak going into the playoffs, nine if you include Game 1, only to lose four straight by 3+ goals.
I know the Avs are a great team, but that's just a *pathetic* showing.

@@ResoluteMujigae I had a gut feeling they weren't going to beat the Avalanche (they're a team that's proven they've got what it takes to beat hot opponents, and I had reservations about how the Jets would do in the playoffs even coming off of that hot streak and going 3-0 against Colorado in the regular season), but I was expecting it to at least be a close series (especially after how much of a shootout Game 1 was). I'm extremely disappointed in them.
