As an Arizona native my whole life, it will never be easy to let go of this team. I would go to so many Coyotes games as a kid, always snapping pictures with the mascot. I'm beyond grateful for the amazing memories this franchise gave me, and I hope they succeed in Utah. #YotesForever
they're probably gone for good. Meruelo will probably just take the money and run. but its not official until 2029. Until then, they are still in the league, just a deactivated/inactive franchise with no hockey operations. the NHL is taking a huge risk with this. because if the Coyotes do get an arena, they come back as an expansion team, and the NHL will have to bring 3 more teams to balance the league. that's a real quantity over quality moment.
