I was living in Atlanta when the Thrashers moved to Winnipeg. It really sucks to lose your sports teams. I don't wish that kind of pain on anyone, nor do I have any hatred for Winnipeg or the people that live there. It's always easy for unaffected people to shit on those who are when they are down. A fan base is in mourning right now, so I feel for the Coyotes fans & hope that Utah takes good care of them.
Arizonas loss is definitely Salt Lake Citys gain! Fans will be getting a very good team. I hope you will love them the way we did since 1996. As for future of hockey in Arizona, As long as Alex Meruelo is the owner of ANY HOCKEY CLUB in Arizona, the fans here WILL HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT! Meruelo has no respect for the fans and it's mutual THE FANS WILL HAVE NOTHING MORE TO DO WITH HIM. I don't see him buying the property up for auction at the end of June. He'll leave with his bank roll and skip town and probably never set foot in Arizona again! Wish you well in Salt Lake. Wishing my Yotes who I've been following since 1996 well. The boys are a bit traumatized by unethical ownership here in AZ. Being they're going into another less than ideal arena with the promise of a new arena this might perk up their PTSD. I'm pretty sure it'll get done there though in Utah. If the new owner keeps General Manager Bill Armstrong they'll do very well. However, hopefully they don't fast track this rebuilt too fast either as it can affect progress.
